"Thank you have a great day." I tell my customer as I hand her their bag of whatever the hell they're buying. When I watch her leave, just because I like to look at the sun shining when the door opens, I see him.
This amazing guy in his green and white flannel just walks to the back of the store. I try to look through the ceiling mirrors to see him. He's there again. Buying condoms.
He walks over to the counter and my only goal is to just get his name. Can I at least found out just that much?
"Hi. How are you?" I say and grab the box, scanning it but trying to scope my eyes and see what size this could be. Large. Oh, definitely not for him. Can't be that big. Should I just take the hint that he's taken.
"I'm fine. Thank you." He says with the most sly and attractive voice ever, though it's maybe nasally, it's so smooth when his words roll off his tongue.
"Um, second box this week but it's none of my business sorry. And I think the change you gave me last time should cover these so... Have a great day." I hand him the box inside a brown paper bag.
The guy smirks when he takes hold of the bag. He takes the box out and folds the bag, putting it into the counter. "I knew you'd catch on. I'll always put things on the tab so I can come and go whenever I want."
He leaves and I realize I don't get his name, but I take that he'll be a regular customer considering the idea that he says he wants a tab here.
So now I'm stuck with wondering, his name, and why doesn't the like bagging his box of condoms.
