As soon as the morning announcement plays, Y/n rushes to the gym. She's almost bursting with excitement. It's been years since she's seen a magic show. And now she gets one from the Ultimate Magici- Mage herself.!

Once she arrives, most people are there, except Kokichi, Ryoma, Kaito and Maki, but Y/n doesn't really pay much attention to it.

"Himiko? Have you said your prayers and gone to the bathroom?" Angie asks

"I-I said my prayers and went pee.." Himiko answers, she looks terrified.

"Nyahaha! Then let's get the show started!" Angie laughs happily, her and Himiko go over to the large water tank, Himiko climbs up the stairs and stands on the edge. She looks dangerously close to the tank of piranhas.

"Thank you, Atua, for being with us today." Angie announces.

"T-The magic I'm going to perform today is extreme magic.. the.. u-underwater escape act." Himiko says, Y/n can almost feel her nerves from the audience

"Please turn your attention to the tank in front of you, when the timer starts, Himiko will jump into the water, once 60 seconds have passed, the piranhas will drop into the tank! Oh my goodness! If by some miracle Himiko has been gobbled up, please give a round of applause!"

"..."

"I am joking! It's a joke!"

Himiko doesn't respond to Angie's joke like she should have, she must be really scared.

Angie counts down from three, and Himiko jumps into the tank of water as the timer on the side starts going down from 60.

After about 20 seconds pass, Tenko starts getting really worried.

Y/n leans over to Shuichi who's sitting next to her. "How do you think she's gonna get out?" She whispers

"I don't know.. I just hope it's safe." He whispers back.

"Yeah.. I've seen tricks like this before, usually it's just a hidden tunnel or compartment."

"I guess we'll find out."

Another 10 seconds pass. Himiko should have come out by now..

Then another 10.. and another. 10 seconds until the piranhas drop. Even the Ultimate Magician could go wrong at times.. what if something happened.? Two people have already died, there could easily be a third.

"I'm actually pretty worried now.. I have to see.." Y/n says and stands up, she goes up onto the stage and looks down into the water.

"Aw! You can't do that! We're still in the middle of the show!" Angie shouts

There's nothing in the water. It's just.. empty.

Then the timer ends.. before she can even notice what's about to happen, the piranhas drop. Y/n gasps a little when she sees the aftermath. Ryoma is in there.. handcuffed. The piranhas swirl around him, eating him until there's nothing left. The water is quickly dyed with blood

"Oh god.. open the curtains.!" Y/n yells to the group.

"Okay.! I am now opening the curtains.." Angie says, and pulls the curtains along.. to reveal Ryoma.. but he wasn't Ryoma, he was just a pile of bones.

Nobody can say anything in shock.

The body discovery announcement plays, the others that weren't at the magic show come rushing in.

"What the hell happened in here!?" Kaito shouts

"I don't know! I don't know what happened!" Tenko also shouts

"We should break it to see inside, it'll take too long to drain it. Gonta! Kee-boy! You're up! Throw the robot into the glass!" Kokichi says

"Throw Keebo into glass.. got it." Gonta says

"Hey! Wait!" Keebo says

Gonta picks up Keebo and chucks him straight into the glass tank, the bloody water spills everywhere. For a second, Y/n is glad she's up on the top of the tank.

The Monokubs and Monokuma appear to give the Monokuma file on how Ryoma died. Y/n was the only one saw him being eaten by the piranhas though.

Y/n sits down on the edge of the tank and pushes herself off, almost slipping over on the wet floor.

"In any event.. let us begin the investigation." Korekiyo says

"Investigation.. so it really is starting again.." Keebo says

"Gonta no want to do this.. Gonta no want to doubt friends anymore..." Gonta says sadly

"Then don't. I'm not going to investigate either. I'm sure you'll manage with one less person.. I wouldn't be any help anyway." Maki says, Y/n immediately turns to her.

Maki walks out of the room. "Maki.! Wait.!" Y/n calls out after her, but nothing happens.

"The fuck is that bitch's problem? She's seriously not gonna investigate?" Miu says

"She likely assumes someone else will take care of it.. and I suppose she isn't wrong."

"Well.. Y/n? You think you can have a talk with her later? You're probably the only person she'd listen to." Kaito says

"Yeah.. I will do."

The investigation starts, Shuichi and Kaito start by asking Y/n what she saw in the tank. She explains that Ryoma just got.. eaten. It seems to match up with the Monokuma file.. except for the fact it says Ryoma died from drowning.

"Did you see anything before the piranhas dropped?" Shuichi asks

"Well.. I guess I didn't see anything. There was nobody in the tank.. and then when the piranhas appeared, Ryoma appeared with them.. I wasn't paying too much attention to how he got there.. sorry." Y/n says.

After that, Y/n decides to investigate Himiko's lab to figure out how the trick worked.

Shuichi and Kaito go up to where Maki is.

"Maki.. what are you doing here.?" Shuichi asks.

"..." Maki doesn't answer

"You said you weren't gonna help investigate, was that true?"

"You should be fine without me, you're supposed to be a detective aren't you?"

"Um.. if that's the case.. I just wanted to ask what happened to you last night. How'd you avoid getting caught by Gonta?"

"..Y/n came running up the stairs, saying Gonta was chasing her. Then Gonta caught up and somehow knocked Y/n out. He grabbed her before I could, I threatened to kill him if he didn't let her go, but he ran off anyway and I couldn't find them. I was searching for about an hour, that's it."

"Haha! You're pretty protective of her. What, do you like her or something?" Kaito laughs

"..What did you just say?" Maki stares at him ominously.

"H-Hey.! I was just joking.. you don't gotta give me that scary look.."

"Whatever. Are we done here? You're wasting your time talking to me. I don't know anything."

The investigation continues a little longer.. then it's time for the class trial.

And almost like an instant.. Kirumi is gone. She was the Prime Minister of the entire country.. how could that even be.. real? But it is. Well.. was. Her death was painful to watch, giving her a false hope and taking it away at the very last second.

Everyone leaves the trial room glumly. Not knowing what to say.

Just before everyone leaves to go back to their dorms, Kokichi says something.

"Hey, all of you! I want you all to listen for a second!"

"What now? We don't want to hear it." Shuichi says

"Okay.. I've gained a reputation here as a compulsive liar which is.. true.. but there is a bigger liar here than me."

"What.? Who?" Tsumugi asks

"That liar is.. Maki."

"What?" Maki says, she looks a little caught off guard.

"Look. I don't know what you're trying this time, but don't get Maki involved! She didn't do anything.!" Y/n says

"Oh.? She didn't even tell you.? Huh.. I really thought she would have at least told you, cause you guys are.. best friends or something."

"Tell me what.?"

"Her true identity. She kept it hidden until the last minute, even from her closest friend."

You can hardly even tell Maki moved, that's how fast she was. She goes up to Kokichi and grabs his neck, holding him in a choke.

"..Gh! Y-You know.. th-this is an interesting t-turn of events.. but would y-you really kill me.. i-in front of the others? T-That's not your style.. y-you'd rather.. kill.. from the.. shadows." Kokichi is clearly struggling to breathe. "I-Isn't that right.. Miss Ultimate Assassin?"
