Diesel 10 was working hard on Sodor. He loved clearing the tracks, and he often takes the trucks away. He didn't mind the change in jobs. He was just glad to be really useful. One day, Diesel 10 was sent to the scrap yards, and there, he saw two diesels that worked there.

Diesel 10 helped them move scrap in and out of the yards. When Percy arrived, Arry and Bert said, "Careful, or else you might get cut up!" Diesel 10 was furious!!

He then buffered up to Arry, and roared in his face, "Listen here you! Steamies and Diesels work together! I know that steam engines are older, but you could also end up as scrap! I should know, many of my brothers and sisters are now probably tin cans! Now, apologize now, or else I'll let Pinchy have a go at ya!" He then crunched his claw, and Arry and Bert said they were sorry, and raced away. Diesel 10 looked at Percy, and said, "I can't stand it, Diesels are out of date as well, and yet they still treat steam engines like this."

Diesel 10 didn't like how other diesels still behaved to other engines, threatening them with scrap. Sure he once acted like that, but when he heard diesels were being replaced, he soon gave up on trying to scrap all the steamies.

Just then, he saw a class 40 diesel. It was blue, with yellow ends.

"Hello," said Diesel 10, "What might your name be?" "Ted," said the diesel, "And I'm glad to see you're here. This railway needs more diesels." "Don't tell me...." "These steam engines need to be gone. We need to take over this railway." (Replay theme) Diesel 10 crunched his claw. "Now listen," he snapped, "WE are not the pride of the line anymore!! We diesels are now out of date too!! Surely you must feel regret not being able to save your friends and siblings!" "If they were really useful, then they wouldn't have been withdrawn." Diesel 10 was shocked! He then banged Ted hard, leaving a dent in his motor. "GET OUT OF MY SIGHT NOW, BEFORE I TURN YOU INTO A LUNCH BOX!!" Ted then rattled off. "I'm starting to hate myself for being a diesel."

That night in the sheds, he saw another diesel talking to the other engines. "On our railway, steam engines aren't allowed on the main line unless they have permission. They are put in their place." Diesel 10 then raced forward, and bumped the diesel very hard. "LISTEN HERE, STUCK UP!!" he thundered, "I DON'T APPRECIATE BULLIES LIKE YOURSELF!!! MAYBE IT'S BEST IF YOU JUST SIT RIGHT NEXT TO THE TRACK, AND RUST!!!" "NO!!" said the diesel. "THEN GET OUT OF HERE!! I DON'T WANT TO SEE YOUR FACE AGAIN!!" Old Stuck Up then rattled away. Diesel 10 then backed down into a birth. The engines were shocked. "You.... stood up for us?" asked James, shocked. "Diesels on the mainland are now being withdrawn as well," said Diesel 10, "I just wish these other diesels would get it through their engines that we are outdated as well." The engines listened, and Silver Link told them what he saw at Crewe. "Oh my," said Edward, "No engine should ever go through that." Even Gordon, Henry and James felt remorse for the diesels.

Now, they decided to let the other diesels have a chance. Soon, Diesel 10 was a very well known engine on the Island. He gave up his ways, and embraced how to get along with steam engines. They are all thankful, he doesn't want to scrap anyone.
