Chapter Two – What a dickhead.

The whole sex thing didn't just happen one day out of the blue. It took weeks to get to where they were today. She often wondered how they'd gotten from a timid, friendly meeting to a fast-paced intense affair. She wasn't even that type of girl! The one who pranced around in front of boys with little to none clothing and caked on makeup. Sure, she liked to wear pretty dresses and hang out with her friends, but she'd only ever kissed a boy before she met Cade.

That first weekend Cade arrived at Hailey's house, it was no secret Blair thought he was fantastic looking. Well to everyone besides Blair. She had thought she did a great job hiding it.

The girls decided to take Cade out around the town, show him where the essential shopping was, cinemas, parks and anything else an eighteen year-old boy might need to know in a new town.

'So what's your story?' He asked her while Hailey went into her mothers favourite candle store to quickly get a small present. Blair refused to enter it ever again when she nearly vomited all over their precious candles from the stench one morning after a heavy night. That and the sales assistant would rather she didn't go in ever again.

'My story?' Blair was leaning against the wall eyeing Cade/having a perve.

'Why are you always at my families house? Don't you have your own home?'

Blair flinched at his tone of voice, it sounded almost mean.

'That's none of your business,' she replied slowly rolling her eyes at him. Hurry up Hailey!

The two of them stood outside in perfect silence, eventually Hailey joined them babbling on about this perfect new vanilla scent they just ordered in. Blair knew Jane would love it.

'So Cade, I really don't know much about you at all, why did you and your mother live in Switzerland?' Hailey asked him when they all sat down to have a coffee.

Cade took a sip of his drink and paused, 'My father is Swiss and we were living there together.'

'Oh? I didn't know Aunt Sara was married!' Hailey gushed excitedly, 'I've never met him before either!'

'She's not.' Cade shot them a look of contempt. He didn't exactly want to be here, and the girls knew it. In fact he was being down right hostile. 'Marriage is ridiculous, you know 50% of marriages end in divorce?'

Hailey turned to Blair and raised an eyebrow, they were thinking the exact same thing. This guy was a bit of a douche.

Blair was even amused at the idea someone so gorgeous and flawless looking could look almost ugly when they had a bad personality.

'So we're taking it you're not exactly happy to be here are you Cade?' Hailey said diplomatically, sipping her coffee.

'Bingo,' he rolled his eyes and threw back his expresso. 'Look girls, it's been fun but I'm going to have a wander around on my own for a while. I'll meet you back at the house.' With that he stood up and walked away before the girls could even ask him if he knew where the house actually was.

'Mum will kill me if I lose my cousin his first week here,' Hailey groaned.

'He's being such a dickhead,' Blair laughed, amused by the situation. 'You'd think he would try and be nice when we're the only people he knows in the entire country!'

'Mum did say he was pretty upset to leave his parents, maybe he'll act out for a while and calm down a bit once school goes back,' Hailey reasoned.

The girls watched him stalk through the mall and disappear into a music shop on the other side kind of hoping Hailey was right. It would be awful spending their last year of school sharing the house with a moody teenager.

...

What a sneaky bastard, Blair thought slightly irritated as she watched an entirely different Cade engage in conversation with Hailey's parents. It was clear to her now, when he first arrived and acted civilly it was a façade for the parents who were in the room at the time. She watched as an animated, funny, clever guy tell Jane stories about silly little things his mother did back in Switzerland, he basically had the whole table roaring with laughter. He was so different to the moody boy they were babysitting earlier.

'Oh Cade, I simply must get her to come and visit us this year,' Jane said wiping a tear from her eye.

He chuckled, 'Absolutely, she'd love it. All she does is talk about you.'

Jane beamed at him as the table sat in that after dinner conversation mode, the dirty plates stacked at the end of the table with no one opting to do the dishes just yet.

'So are you looking forward to getting into school over here?' Hailey's dad asked him with a friendly grin. 'A whole new chapter of girls, I'm sure will interest you my boy.'

Cade smiled politely while Hailey groaned, 'Dad! You're so embarrassing!'

'What?' He replied sending Cade a wink. 'Just look at the two beautiful girls we have at the table here, that's just the beginning.'

'You're sick,' Hailey groaned again standing up and actually volunteering for the dishes -which was a world first. Blair stood up quickly to help her friend, anything other then listening to bullshit.

'He's like a different person,' Blair whispered to Hailey as they stacked the dishwasher together.

Hailey wrinkled her nose in confusion, 'Maybe we overreacted today, he might not have been that rude... Do you think?'

Blair shrugged leaning against the kitchen counter, the sounds of laughter coming from the dining room. 'I don't know Hails, looks like he's a Grade-A bull-shitter to me.'

'Hmm, maybe,' she frowned in confusion. 'It's a pity he doesn't want to get along with us. It might have been fun having another best friend living in the house.'

Blair rolled her eyes, this guy was definitely not going to any friend of theirs.

...

The following week proved just how much of an ass Cade was willing to be.

He hogged the bathroom every morning. The girls were brain storming what he might possibly do for an hour and a half every morning but were coming up with nothing.

'Maybe he shaves his chest and legs,' Hailey giggled as they lay in bed not bothering to get out and check if he was done yet.

Blair grinned, 'Or maybe he's actually really ugly and puts on loads of makeup to make him look hot.'

'Maybe he's really a girl.'

They were still chuckling to themselves when he eventually exited the bathroom wearing nothing but a towel slung low across his hips.

'He's not even dressed or anything, what the heck does he do in there,' Hailey hissed to her friend as they claimed the bathroom.

'Hmm?' Blair responded watching him cross the hallway into his room, his muscles in his back rippling ever so slightly.

Hailey rolled her eyes at her friend, 'Stop perving.'

They got ready for school in record time, seeing as they only had about ten minutes until they had to leave. Cade was waiting downstairs for them in the hall talking to Jane.

'Hurry up girls or you'll be late,' Jane said frowning. She threw Cade a huge smile, 'Have a great first day honey.'

The girls rolled their eyes and headed out to Hailey's car where Cade was already leaning against the passenger seat. Blair's seat.

'That's my seat,' she informed him. Definitely not impressed that because of him she'd have to have their first day back looking and possibly smelling like a feral cat. No shower would do that to you.

'Hasn't got your name on it,' he retorted shooting her a grin.

Hailey just shrugged awkwardly not particularly wanting to start a fight with him, and Blair climbed into the cramped back seat grudgingly.

The short ride to school was dead quiet and filled with tension, luckily as soon as they arrived Cade took off without another word. Hailey was supposed to show him to the office but clearly he had other plans. Which was fine by them.

'I think I might hate him,' Blair muttered as they entered the school grounds. She took in the familiar cream walls, the silver lockers aligning the hallways and the throng of people heading in all sorts of directions. She was instantly cheered up, because Blair actually liked school. She was good at it. They had a nice group of friends who always made her laugh and she was left alone by others which she also liked.

'Why the glum faces my hoes?'

The two girls grinned as they came face to face with Brady Summers, one of their oldest friends. Ringing in at a little over six foot, with his blonde hair, tanned skin and brilliant white teeth Brady was considered quite the stunner. He was one of those guys who was instantly liked by everyone, he had more friends then there were students in the entire school and was just full of secrets.

'How was your summer Brady?' Blair asked smiling as he gave her one of his famous uplifting hugs.

'Full of debauchery of course,' he winked at her.

'Of course,' Blair grinned. Did she mention he was gay? You couldn't tell by looking at him and he wasn't overly camp or anything. He also never really came out, it was always known he was into guys, and no one gave him any crap for it because he'd just beat them up. Or one of his many popular jock friends would do the honours.

'Anyway ladies, I have to get to class. Coach says if I'm late one more time he's kicking me off the team,' Brady laughed as if the idea was absurd. Although it kind of was seeing as he was the star player in practically any sport offered by the school.

The two girls headed to their lockers depositing their books and off to their first class of their last year.

'This is our last first day,' Hailey grinned at Blair linking their arms. As they approached their first class they were relieved to find out Cade wasn't in any of their morning lessons, Blair briefly wondered if he found his way around the school alright but she didn't worry too much. In fact she kind of hoped he got severely lost.

When it came to lunch though Cade was finding a new way to annoy them. He did so by becoming the most talked about subject in their school. Well him and the huge back to school seniors party to be held Friday night. When they first entered the cafeteria they saw a group of younger girls chatting excitedly where the word 'Cade' and 'hot' were thrown about. Then as they sat down at the table even their own friends were gossiping about the 'hot new guy'.

'Oh Blair wait till you see him,' Brady grinned. 'He's like sex on a stick.'

'Eww, he's my cousin guys. Don't talk like that around me,' Hailey interrupted them making a vomiting noise.

Blair rolled her eyes as the girls at their table all squealed excitedly pouncing on Hailey for any information at all. His likes, dislikes, girl type, favourite food, colour, flower...

'Relax you guys, she's only known him a few days. Plus he's nothing special,' Blair shrugged digging into her sandwich Jane had made them. 'In fact I'd say he's actually a bit of a ...' She trailed off as Brady made a crazy face at her, his eyes darting from her face to behind her.

'Oh please go on Blair,' Cade drawled from his position right behind her. 'I just know it was something sweet.'

Blair felt her face heat up and she bit her lip embarrassed.

'Why don't you join us Cade?' Brady offered giving him a friendly smile. 'I've been the new kid once, its no fun.'

Cade looked like he was going to decline the invite until he saw Blair shake her head wildly at Brady.

'I'm sure Cade has made loads of friends, seems pretty liked to me,' Hailey offered up. 'He wont want to sit with us.'

'Actually Hails, I'd love to,' he sat down giving Blair a smirk. 'I want to continue my conversation with Blair here about my attributes she likes most.'

'Oh piss off,' Blair glared at him. 'You're so mean to me, I don't know why and I don't really give a shit to be honest. We don't want you here!'

'Blair...' Brady trailed off looking at his friend like she'd grown another head. 'What's your problem honey?'

Blair stood up extremely frustrated, she wanted to smack that smirk right off his face, 'I'm sick of him!'

With that she stormed out of the cafeteria abandoning her lunch and opting to head to her locker getting ready for next period. She wasn't quite sure why she overreacted so much. In fact she was annoyed with herself because she'd probably played right into his hands. All people like Cade wanted was a reaction, anything to fuel them to continue their tortuous actions. She'd had enough dramas with a girl in their year, she didn't need a male bully too. In fact, Blair was so frustrated and angry she felt exactly like she did after a run in with Lacy the resident school bully. Lacy for some reason despised Blair, Hailey insisted it was because she was jealous of her but Blair highly doubted that. She'd just always had problems with her, and Blair hated it.

'You alright little one? You look a little flustered...' She closed the door and Cade was leaning against the next locker to hers with what was beginning to become his trademark smirk.

'Don't start,' she warned him. 'It's enough I have to deal with you being an ass outside of school, I don't want to talk to you here.'

His smile just widened, 'You're cute when you're angry.'

Blair just gaped at him too angry to even form words in her mouth. 'Get away from me!'

'Nope.'

Her eyes widened in surprise, 'Seriously Cade, fuck off!'

'Language Miss Anstey!' One of the younger teachers chastised as he passed the couple arguing in the hallway.

Blair blushed at the teachers back and turned to an amused Cade. He grinned, 'I bet a girl like you doesn't get told off very often, do you?'

He was totally right but that was beside the point, 'That's none of your business.'

'I think you're threatened by me Blair,' he continued as though she had encouraged conversation from him. 'And, I think you're seriously attracted to me.'

Ok he was right about the attractive part, but as she was beginning to get to know his personality that was deteriorating quite quickly. She simply rolled her eyes at him and stomped off in the other direction. Too bad it was no where near her next class, but she wasn't giving him the satisfaction of turning around and walking in the other direction.

Unfortunately for Blair, Cade was in her next class. Seated at the back and grinning away at her when she entered the classroom five minutes late because of her detour. Now because of him she got told off by two different teachers in one day. That was more than her entire schooling life! She hated him.
