《It's All For You》6 | color

I woke up to being pushed.
I opened my eyes and saw that I had completely drifted from the left side of the bed to the right.
I saw Florencio tugging on a shirt. He turned to look at me.
"You're like a cat in your sleep," he murmured, before leaving the room. My face was a tomato.
I got up slowly and walked over to my folded clothes on the dresser. I narrowed my eyes, realizing Florencio must have taken them out of the bathroom.
I turned on my phone and cringed when I saw all the messages from Gina.
I'm sorry I left last night. I was with that boy.
I sent my crappy reply to all her concerned texts.
She immediately texted back.
I figured! When you're mom texted me asking if you were staying with me tonight, I had to cover for you! I love you, Parker but get it together and tell me shit next time.
I rubbed my eyes with the back of my hand and sighed.
I said, I know I'm sorry. There's no excuse. Thank you, G. I love you.
I put my phone down and went to the bathroom and splashed cold water on my face. I also rubbed my teeth with some toothpaste.
I left the room and walked down the expensive spiral staircase.
I shivered as my feet came in contact with the marble floor. I heard talking coming from... the kitchen.
Florencio had a mug in his hand and his phone pressed to his ear. When he saw me he said something in Spanish and hung up.
I shifted, feeling naked under his gaze.
"You know," I began, "we've shared a bed twice and I don't even know your favorite color." It was a stupid thing to say. I felt stupid.
He grinned and took a sip of the steaming drink in his hand.
"I'm not telling you," His deep voice replied.
I pouted. "Why not?"
"Too much information." He turned away from me and chugged the rest of his drink.
I swallowed and walked closer to him, moving around the island. "Mines orange."

He turned back to me. His face held confusion. "Orange?"
"Yes. What's wrong with that?" I crossed my arms over my chest, remembering I wasn't wearing a bra.
He threw his cup in the sink. "Get dressed we're leaving."
"I—I just woke up," I stuttered.
He raised an eyebrow. "And?"
"I'm hungry." I don't know why I was making up excuses.
He sighed, frustrated. He opened the fridge door and took out a yogurt. He threw it to me. I barely caught it.
"The spoon?" I asked.
He rolled his eyes. "Just fold the lid."
I frowned. "Can you just...wait a bit?"
He eyes me suspiciously and leaned against the counter. His snug long sleeve hung to every curve.
"I thought you wanted to go home. I thought you hated me." His tone was harsh and I flinched.
"I don't—"
"Hate me?" He cut me off.
I felt anger flare up inside me but I replied with an honest answer nonetheless. "Yes."
He smirked. "Good. Because you're not going home yet. Get your stuff."
I nodded stupidly, holding the yogurt to my chest. I ran upstairs and slipped on my bra and put the grey shirt back on, not bothering to put back on my own clothes. I grabbed my stuff in one arm and put my phone in the pants pocket. I put my tennis shoes on.
I went back downstairs and Florencio was already by the door. He was texting someone on his phone.
The corners of his mouth lifted up slightly when he saw me. "Are you stealing my clothes?"
I looked down and blushed.
"It's okay. Keep them. You look good." I looked back up, shocked.
I shook my head. "No! I'll change then. I'm sorry."
I turned around and was pulled back when Florencio grabbed my wrist.
I bumped against his chest.
"We're already late," he murmured. "Let's go."

Florencio drove another hour or so and the house he drove up to was a mansion.
"I've never seen a house this big," I said in awe.

He said nothing. He parked in front of the house. He started to get out.
"Wait!" I called.
He turned around and raised an eyebrow at me.
"I want to come with you..." I said this quietly, embarrassed.
He looked surprised but quickly hid it. "No. I don't trust the people inside around you."
With that he locked me inside the car. I sighed, annoyed and leaned back into my seat.
After a few minutes I saw someone out of the corner of my eye. Excited, I turned to see if it was Florencio but it was a woman.
She had perfectly curled blonde hair that bounced with every step. Her makeup was done and the dark liner around her eyes made her look like a cat.
Although, that wasn't exactly what caught my attention.
It was probably the almost transparent lingerie that she was wearing. The thin lace that covered her body matched her white, elegant heels.
When she got to the window, an acrylic nail tapped the window.
I rolled it down hesitantly.
"Hi," I squeaked, intimidated by her beautiful appearance.
She smiled kindly and leaned against the window, holding her chin up with the palm of her hands. Her breast pushed up against her chest, making them even bigger if possible.
"Hi there," she said, her voice thick and smooth like honey. "What's a cute girl like you doing out here... alone."
"Um, I'm here with Florencio," I stammered.
A dark eyebrow shot up. "Oh? Isn't he just great? Such a pleaser, isn't he?"
I shook my head stupidly. I was so flustered. "I wouldn't know, I guess? I'm—I'm sorry. Never mind, I don't know what you're asking me." Oh god, I was a mess.
She laughed and it sounded so...nice. "You're cute. Maybe he'll take care of you. But if he disappears after you guys fuck, don't be shocked."
I gasped. How could she say something so...blunt? I swear I was about to burst from embarrassment.
When I didn't respond she laughed again like it was the funniest thing in earth I wasn't responding.
"Oh my god, Florencio picked himself up a virgin?"
My embarrassment was quickly replaced with anger. "Excuse me! I don't even know who you are."
Suddenly I heard a door open. Florencio was already in the car, closing the door. I didn't even see him.
"Natalie, get off my car," Florencio said, pissed off.
Natalie grinned and got off the car. "It was a pleasure meeting you," she said softly, reaching into the car, pinching my chin. Then she walked back into the house.
"Who is she?" I murmured, rubbing my chin where her nails pinched me.
"The bosses latest...fling you could said," Florencio said.
Was she ever his?
"She's beautiful," I commented.
A pause.
"She is beautiful," he agreed. "But she has a rotten personality."
I hid my smile behind my fist. I don't know why it was so satisfying to know he didn't like her.
We were slowly approaching the town where I lived and I grew restless. He asked for my address and I gave it to him.
"Do you want your clothes back?" I asked him. I know he said I could keep them, but I wanted to ask again.
"You'll have to see me again," he said, smirking.
"Oh." I didn't want to say I wouldn't mind.
We stopped in front of my house and Florencio turned to me, leaning over the console. I leaned back till my head hit the window.
He came closer to me, eyeing me like I was his prey. I felt my breath quicken.
His hand caught my jaw softly in his hand, forcing me closer to him.
"You know what I do want though?" He whispered huskily. His eyes were dark.
I gulped and shook my head, unable to talk. His face was so close to mine.
"I want my car door fixed." His grip on me tightened and I sucked in a sharp breath. "I didn't forget, Parker."
I nodded hurriedly. I resisted the urge to let my eyelids drop. I felt so drowsy all of a sudden with him so close to me.
He grinned. "See you later, honey."

The Book of Rune
If you like moderately well-researched semi-medieval military logistics with some fantasy twists, and also conspiracy, and exploration, and violence, and maybe a dash of road movie, hey, Ruen just might be your thing. Plot-wise, basically there's a guy who got fired by Death, a kid with pyrotechnic tendencies, and a slave general who wouldn't mind retiring but ended up on a mass suicide mission. If you were looking for a less TL;DR version, a guy who got fired by Death meets a kid with pyrotechnic tendencies, and they try to get the guy un-fired while also trying to come to terms with death together (ooohhhh, look, I'm deep). Meanwhile a slave general does something stupid and ends up being sent on a suicide mission, and he tries to wreak havoc and save lives at the same time. The threads come together, I swear. This is a rough draft of a fantasy semi-book that I've had in the back of my head for some time. I've written a variety of short stories set in the world over the past three years, and I finally kicked myself into writing the actual story. Very much a slow work in progress. Occasional violence (okay, well, maybe more than occasional), occasional foul language.
