Dr. Henrik von Schneeplestein first appeared on the Jacksepticeye channel on September 15, 2016, in the titular video "The Jacksepticeye Power Hour — Dr. Schneeplestein." In this video the viewers can see him operating on a patient: a man he claims to be his accountant, Peter. The doctor states he wants to save Peter so that he won't have to do his own taxes. At this point it's important to note that Peter appears to be the man from the kid's game "Operation." Dr. Schneeplestein pulls various objects out of Peter's body and meanwhile makes comments about not letting Peter survive the operation. One of those comments is about giving Peter more anesthetics and having some "fun of his own." Then the nose buzzes and the doctor claims the patient has woken up. Schneeplestein berates Peter for having eaten the objects he pulled out of his body and makes a strange comment that a human's favorite food is tree bark. As he checks Peter's heartbeat, Peter passes away. Schneeplestein becomes distraught at this and makes multiple remarks, namely: he "lost another one;" "they really are going to take away [his] cereal box's doctor license;" and that he is "ruined."

The next we see of Dr. Schneeplestein is in Sean's video, "Amateur Surgeon: Christmas Edition," uploaded on December 24, 2016. Sean is playing the game and fails to save the patient—an elf who was in a reindeer accident—and leaves, saying he lost him because he wasn't wearing the right outfit. Sean leaves the screen and Dr. Schneeplestein takes his place. One of the first comments he makes is how everyone was awaiting his return. After failing to save the elf once, he admits to hating Christmas. He explains it reminds him that no one loves him. Schneeplestein attempts to save the elf twice more, and on his third attempt his is successful. He claims it's a Christmas miracle and says that his work is finished. He then leaves the frame to search for whiskey, and seconds later Sean appears again. When he sits down, he notices the elf has been saved and he asks the viewers if Dr. Schneeplestein had been there, and that the ego is amazing. He also denies being Dr. Schneeplestein.

On August 3, 2017, Dr. Schneeplestein appears in the video "KILL JACKSEPTICEYE | Bio Inc. Redemption. (Part of this video title is written in the zalgo font). The video starts with Sean, as normal, and he explains why it had been so long between episodes. When he begins to play the game, he chooses to save himself, feeling compelled to do so, and says he doesn't want to "k*ll" himself. It's after he says this that Sean becomes sick and runs out of the room. Dr. Schneeplestein takes his place. He remarks that he's repaying Sean for helping him after Peter passed, and that the man is one of his close friends. He also mentions, as he works, that he's friends with Chase Brody. As he continues working, he takes on Sean's ailments and pleads with the viewers, saying, "We need to save him, we need to save him—I need your help! Save him! Save Jackseptic...." Then he mentions anti-depressants, emphasizing the first part of the word. Then he glitches and wraps the headphone cord around his neck. He just as quickly notices what he's done and removes them. As the video goes on, his behaviors morph into those of Anti's. Dr. Schneeplestein seems to break through, however, when Sean flatlines and he cries out. He screams out, "Jack! Jack, no! My friend! No!" Directly after, Anti possesses Schneeplestein and says that the doctor was too weak to save Sean. Anti speaks of the other egos like they're puppets. He also reveals that he hates the egos that side with Sean, and it's shown the demon can only take over the others when Sean dies.

Dr. Schneeplestein isn't seen again until May 4, 2018, but his reappearance is seemingly foreshadowed just a day before this. On May 3, 2018, Sean posted a picture of one half of his face to Instagram. The caption accompanying the picture is "Vacation's over!" The very next day, the video "THE DOCTOR IS BACK | Gastric Bypass, Liposuction Surgery" is uploaded. For most of the video, Sean as Dr. Jacksepticeye performs two surgeries and brags about how well he did. Then, there's a muffled voice on the other side of the door before Dr. Schneeplestein bursts into the room, saying, "I am the good doctor... and that is my chair!"

Schneeplestein isn't seen again until October 19, 2019, in the video "You're Not Ready For These Scary Games." Multiple times Sean's gameplay will cut to Dr. Schneeplestein working. The last clips of the doctor show him researching at his computer and scribbling something in a notepad. Then a whirlpool appears on the monitor and pulls the viewers in.

In 2020, the video "Don't Make Eye Contact" was published on the Jacksepticeye channel. For a brief time Dr. Schneeplestein can be seen in Marvin the Magnificent's crystal ball, as well as other septic egos. This is the last known siting of Dr. Schneeplestein at this time.
