I stared into nothing as my eyes began to adjust to the darkness

Oh it was just a dream

My face felt dry

I placed a finger underneath my eyes

Tears?

I sighed

This is so exhausting

How could someone be so consumed in love that it hurt so much. I just want it to stop

Love is stupid

I sat up looking at my feet in the dark

In the next two hours i would have to get ready for school

I could say i got the flu? Naah, Dad won't buy it

I could just say i have a running stomach, that sounds reasonable

I got under my blanket again, getting comfortable under my sheets

This is it. Comfort and peace

I smiled to myself as the cold air hit my face

The last time Ava and i spoke was when she texted me to 'head out' and it has been a week already.

I know, time flies.

For some reasons i doubt if that message was even meant for me to begin with.

Nope I'm not doing this. For this rest of today I'm just going to sleep.

No Ava.

Just more sleep and peace

I smiled at the thought of more sleep

I'm only miserable by the day but i don't mind. I just want more sleep

It wasn't even up to an hour when my Dad came barging it

"Good morning champ it's bright and early"

I groaned

"Dad I don't feel well"

"What's the matter honey" he sat beside me

I feel weak, i can't stand properly" i lied

"We need the get you to the hospital then"

"What's is" i picked

"That's no way to say good morning love"

"Well, i know your stupid ass is still in bed, so you better get up and get ready"

I rolled my eyes

"And why would i do that"

"Cause if you don't you're about to loose your freaking wife"

"Shut up, you don't know what you're talking about"

"Bitch please. You know that Bitch from last summer. Your supposed best friend that slept with Carson?"

I adjusted on my bed

"Well she's been having plenty of girl time with your Ava"

"Where did you get that from"

"Well i got my sources"

"If they're hanging out, I don't mind. Catherina is straight anyways and Ava loves me"

Well at the moment I'm not too sure about that

"Bitch, have you seen your wife! She'd make a straight girl gay. Your ass was straight if i could recall, why tf you with Ava then?"

I stared at my phone

"I'm not going to school"

I sat on my couch

"Then why are you even here. Ava is definitely in school right now"

"Yeah, that's the thing. She's never in school"

"My sources remember? And i bet they're together as we speak"

"How do you even know all of these and why should i believe any of it?"

"How about we go find out, right now"

"So let me get this straight. You're going to skip school all cause of this"

She nodded

I don't buy any of this. I smell something fishy, plus Sarah is a terrible actor

"Come on, you've been moping around, dragging your depressed ass all over the place and i figured I'd do some digging"

"Yes, now get your ass up and get ready"

"I could just brush my teeth"

"No. Shower, look nice and smell nice"

"And why would i bother?"

"Cause you'd want to feel fresh while you beat down Catherina"

I rolled my eyes. See? Terrible acting

We pulled up at a nice building, just about 45min away from civilization. This place is nice. I'll definitely live in something like this

We parked outside

"Why are we here?"

"You'd see"

I shaked my head

What ever this is, it better be good

I noticed another car parked outside too

When we got inside. It looked beautiful.

Wow

This is nice

We walked further in

I noticed a smaller room that could pass for a study.

Where's everybody though

I walked into the smaller room

I look around. No books and definitely no Catherina

"Hey"

My heart stopped

I would definitely recognize that voice even in my dreams

I turn to face Ava. I noticed Sarah wasn't with me

Did they plan this?

She smiled, just like in my dream. I've missed this

Is this a trap or something

"Hey" i waved ackwardly

"I'm sorry Sarah had to drag you here. I was scared to call you myself" she dipped her hands neatly in her pocket. I took in every detail

I scratched the back of my neck

"Why?" I asked

She sighed

"Cause i feel shitty"

I didn't know how to react so i kept quiet.

She came closer

"Look, Aliyah. I'm so sorry"

"Why?"

Although i knew the answer to that, i just wanted to hear it

"For being an asshole, for ignoring your feelings and mine, for treating you the way i did"

I took a deep breath

"What changed?"

"I realized I'm still very much in love with you, even though i try to deny it, it makes me go crazy all the time" she breath out

I tried not to let my emotions out on the surface. Cause if i do I'll just end up crying and Ava would think I'm a big baby

"We've got the rest of our lives Ava. So lets take it slowly anyways. One at a time. I know things are hard. I really understand how you feel, i really do. But please don't shut me out" i begged

"I won't i promise"

There you go Aliyah, always the understanding one even though you're literally dying inside.

She placed both hands underneath my jaw

"I'm so sorry Aliyah"

"It's fine babe"

I bent slightly, placing a chaste kiss on her lips. This feels like heaven. I pulled back

"So what's this place?"

She chuckled

It's been a while since i heard that sound

"This is our new home"

Huh?

"What does that mean?"

"This is our wedding gift from mom...and Dad. They both wanted us to have it after the operation"

She smiled. I could see the hurt written all over her face

"I'm sorry for the way i treated you" she said again

"We're over that babe"

"No we're not. I promise I'll get professional help. And i don't want to do this without you. I love you. I really do. When i got back i thought i lost that. I know i put you in a bad position, I'm sorry i hurt you"

I shaked my head

"You were hurting too"

"I know, but that did excuse the fact that i neglected your feelings"

I took a deep breath

"Listen Ava. I love you and that's all that matters to me"

"All that, is in the past right now" i kissed the bridge of her nose

"You're here now and I'm gradually getting my sanity back"

"For teenagers, y'all do act like old couples"

Ben?

He stood at the door smiling like a creep

"Why do you always intrude and why are you even here Ben"

He shrugged

"Ava please tell me he's not going to be living with us"

"Nope. We've got this place all to our self" she said cheerfully

"That doesn't mean i can't come check up on you guys to make sure you guys are behaving. Y'all need an adult in here"

"And that would be you?" I raised a brow

"Ouch. That really hurt my pride"

"Ben give us a sec please"

"Kay ladies"

When he left, she kissed my hands

"So what do you think?"

"About the house?"

She nodded

"It's nice i love it"

"Dad said we get to move in after graduation. The house is already in our name"

"Really?"

"Yeah" she smiled

"Well, the contract says we forfeit rights to ownership if we ever get separated. Classic mom" she chuckled

I smiled

"I don't care about that. As long as I'm with you. That's all that matters"

"It's been more than a sec already" Ben shouted

"Your brother is kinda annoying"

"Welcome to the club my friend"

We both laughed. I took her hand in mine. Fits perfectly

"I love you Al"

"I love you too"

"Let's promise ourselves this. If we ever get into a tough situation, we would be each other's rock. We would always stick together through it all. Okay?"

She nodded

"Okay"

"I love you Ava"

"Always and forever Al"

I smiled. I love the sound of that
