"Eunji!" I heard Jungwon call out to me when he saw me fall, but I could only shut my eyes close, giving up on my leg and every other body part I was going to lose because of this fall.
And so I waited for the impact with my eyes still closed.
But to my surprise the impact never came.
"Eunji, are you fucking insane? What do you think you are doing?" Jungwon expressed his anger, causing me to open my eyes again.
I looked around, breathing heavily. I only now realised that I've been holding my breath the whole entire time, "How...did I get on here?"
"Obviously I pulled you in." Jungwon spoke through gritted teeth, glaring at me angrily, "What the fuck was that, Eunji? Do you want to die?"
"No."
"Then why would you try to climb through the fucking window like that?!"
I stopped in my tracks.
Did he just raise his voice at me?
"Because you were on here!" I shot back, glaring at him back. How dare he be angry at me when he was the one who ran away first?
Jungwon was unable to reply as he sighed, taking a step back again. He seemed to have calmed down a little. "Eunji, you..you need to leave."
"What?"
"I said, Leave, Eunji." He closed his eyes, "Please."
My hand reached out for him, my voice softening noticeably, "Your eyes.."
This startled him.
"Don't come closer. I dare you." This time Jungwon's voice changed. He didn't sound angry anymore.
But more scared. As if he didn't know what would happen if I approached him.
"Why?" I tried to play my racing heart cool, "Are you going to bite me if I do?" I joked, but the way he stared at me with his bloodshot eyes made me regret it immediately.
"I might."
This left me speechless.
"You really need to leave, Eunji." Jungwon stumbled backwards and I noticed his eyes becoming teary, "I-I never held out for so long without blood before. Anything could happen now. I thought I could...resist it, but—"

My eyes widened, "Jungwon, when was the last time you drank blood?"
"2 weeks." He gulped, looking away from me, "The day you brought me to the janitor's room was the last time I've consumed blood."
"What?!" She gasped, "Why didn't you—"
"I told you! I wanted to avoid it as much as I could. And it worked! Eunji, it worked at first." My breathing started to become more and more difficult, "I didn't want to be a bloodtrinking..monster anymore."
For you. I wanted to stop for you.
She just stared at me in disbelief, when I continued, "And just when I thought I made it, everything hit me all at once. I-I wasn't prepared, I thought—"
"What happened?!" Eunji repeated, trying to help me snap out of it after putting both of her hands on my shoulders. I could feel the pain in my throat slowly but surely starting to suffocate me the more I talked.
"I-I.." I stammered, my eyes started to burn.
"What?"
"My vision...turned red. I-I couldn't—There was nothing I could do." I couldn't even talk properly. There was so much I wanted to say, but no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't form any sentences.
The thirst had never been this bad before.
Eunji's eyes remained widened and the way she looked at me with so much fright, made my insides hurt. I must have looked so terrifying in her eyes.
All my efforts went to waste.
"Eunji." I called her with the last bit of my dignity left, "I'm sorry, I-I don't mean to scare you. I won't hurt you. Or anyone. So please don't look at me...like this."
l started to distance myself from her. In this state, I couldn't predict anything that was going to happen.
My breath hitched. My throat was burning. It hurt.
It hurt so bad.
"Jungwon." Eunji took a step towards me.
"I-I'm going to die." I whispered quietly, trying to ease the pain by closing my eyes. Why did she have to see me like this?

"No, you won't. Not on my watch." Her fierce voice started to clear up the storm occurring in my head, "Just listen to me. We will get through this together."
Turning around, I looked into the distance. My eyes were burning with determination and fear at the same time. If I was fast enough, I might reach my father's hospital without anyone noticing.
I just need to—
"Here!" Eunji suddenly held out her arm, attracting my attention again. Her eyes were tightly closed, "Just..Just bite me if you need to. It's okay!"
I could feel the blood freeze in my veins, "..What?"
"I said It's okay!" Eunji turned away from me, As if she was unable to look. Like a child fearing needles, "If you need blood to survive, then just take mine. It's okay!"
"You might be okay with this..." My voice was full of disbelief, "But who said I was? Eunji, seriously what's wrong with you? Why are you so reckless?!"
I shook my head, biting my lower lip, "I would rather die than hurt you, Eunji. I could seriously injure you."
"But I want to help you." She blurted out, tears brimming in the corner of her eyes, "I can't stand seeing you suffer like this, so please if there's anything I can do to help than—"
I stared at her.
At the tears rolling down her ravishing face.
The tears that were spilling because of me.
"What the fuck." Eunji suddenly exclaimed, cupping my hands with her hands, catching me off guard, "Jungwon! Your eyes! They are turning normal again."
"W-What?!" I stuttered out, putting my hands on top of hers.
"Fucking hell." A smile made its way up to her lips, but her tears didn't stop flowing, "Look! How is this possible?!"
I didn't answer her as I realized that the red that was tormenting me was gone. The screaming urge to consume blood with it.
It hurt, yes.
My whole body hurt, but looking at her was enough to forget most of the pain I was feeling.
To the point where it was enough for me to endure it.
"Jungwon? Answer me." The smile on her face was now replaced with concern, "Let's just ditch school. If we hurry up we might be able to catch the bus and go straight to the hospital your dad owns."
She then started walking ahead, attempting to drag me with her.
But I stood still.
I didn't understand. What did Eunji possess to have such an effect on me?
"No." I spoke, my voice was still hoarse.
Before she could turn around to answer me, I had already pulled her in my arms, "I'm okay."
She exclaimed in disbelief, "Are you serious?!"
"Yes." I answered without hesitation.
"You are lying." She tried to break the hug, but I stopped her, "I can't have you lose your cool again. What if someone catches you? What if you crave blood again? We need to—"
"I won't." I buried my face in the crook of her neck, "I won't need it, so please just stay with me for now. That's all I need."
All the blood-red thoughts that were making me lose my mind, have been replaced by her face.
Was she the solution? To my never-ending misery?
"You scared me so bad, Jungwon."
My heart dropped, as I apologized to her.
"I thought I was going to lose you." Eunji continued honestly, "I'm sure, I skipped this part in Twilight. You know, the bloodcurdling part in which the vampires go batshit crazy. You have to warn me next time."
"You are insane. How can you joke around in a situation like this?" I tried to suppress it, but I couldn't help but chuckle at her statement, "And I told you to stop mentioning that..Edward guy."
"Are you jealous?"
I laughed again.
"Eunji." I called her name with a weak, pained smile.
"What?"
"Please don't ever leave me."
The girl in my arms returned the smile,
"As long as you don't give me a reason to..I won't."
