Eunji intentionally ignored the pile of clothes in the corner of her eyes, as she laid on her bed while staring at her ceiling. It was late at night and she hasn't finished packing yet.
With her phone in her hand, she impatiently waited for the boy to answer her call.
"Hello?"
"Jungwon!" She spoke excitedly, flipping herself over so she would lay on her stomach, "How have you been?"
Jungwon on the other hand stopped for a moment, before he let out a chuckle, "We literally saw each other two days ago."
"So? I can still ask about my bestfriend's condition whenever I want." Eunji pouted as if he could see her through his phone.
Again, the boy stayed quiet for a moment. He was surprised at the term she used to describe their relationship.
Best friends.
Did he mean that much to her?
"I am feeling great."
Eunji could practically see his smile, "What about you? Is there anything you want to tell me?"
"I'm too unmotivated to pack my suitcase." She sighed, looking at her empty, red colored suitcase, "I'm escaping my duties and tasks by calling you."
"Woah, woah. You are using me? How dare you." Jungwon gasped exaggeratedly, "By the way, what are you packing for?"
"For Monday."
"What's Monday?"
There was a short break, before her loud voice startled him, "What do you mean?! The school trip?"
"Ah. Right." Jungwon looked down, a discouraged expression was on his face, "I'm not going."
"What?!" Eunji repeated in disbelief.
"I've never gone to any of our class trips before, Eunji." His voice was quiet, "What makes you think I will join this one?"
"We worked so hard for it, Jungwon!"
Eunji looked at her own ceiling in horror. The whole time she was being excited for nothing?
"I know..." He sighed as well, saddened. Imagining his father's displeased expression was enough for him to not even consider going in the first place, "I'm sure you guys are going to have fun nonetheless."
Eunji was slowly starting to grow tired, but knowing that Jungwon wasn't going to sleep anytime soon, she wanted to stay awake as well.

"You don't want to go?" She sounded gloomy.
"No, that's not it. I am not allowed to go."
"Are you serious?!" Eunji shook her head, trying to wake herself up from this nightmare. She spent these past days fantasizing about various activities and scenarios for their well deserved school trip.
And in almost all of them, Jungwon was included.
If he didn't join her and the others, everything would be ruined.
"My father isn't the biggest fan of social activities." Jungwon explained with a sad tone, "It's rather risky after all."
"Convince him to let you go." Eunji was determined, "Or I will."
The boy chuckled. Again.
"Alright, I will go ask him later. But I won't promise anything." Jungwon didn't sound too convinced.
Eunji would add, "Or...I will sneak you out of there."
"What?!"
"You heard me." The girl nodded enthusiastically, proud of her own scheme.
"Yeah, that's the worst idea I've ever heard, Eunji."
"I'm serious!"
"I am going to try and talk to him and if that doesn't work, I will come back to the sneaking out thing, alright?" Jungwon chuckled lowly and his calm voice, made the girl even more tired. She slowly felt her eyes close against her will, as she was falling asleep surely.
"Eunji?"
"I don't want to pack." She slurred sleepily, rubbing her eyes.
"You sound tired." He asserted, "Go to sleep, Eunji. We will talk tomorrow."
"Yes, please." Eunji nodded again, dropping her phone from tiredness, "I will find a way to get you out of there...."
Jungwon smiled sadly, the grip around his phone loosening, "I don't think so." He added in a small whisper, not wanting her to hear it.
"Good night, Jungwon."
He heard her say.
"Good night. Sweet dreams."
I put down my phone with a serious expression on my face. There was no way my father would let me go.
But at the same time, I didn't want to disappoint Eunji.
"There's an upcoming class trip at our school." I sat down at the table my dad was sitting at. Like always, he would look through today's newspaper, his glasses were sitting low.

"And?" He raised an eyebrow, not looking at me.
"I'm going." I spoke as a matter of course.
"Says who?"
"I helped contributing to the funds." I gulped, looking away, "It wouldn't be fair if I couldn't join."
"Jungwon." He put down the newspaper and his glasses, before sighing, "You never asked me to go to any of those school trips before. What has gotten into you?"
"I just realized that there's a lot of things, I've missed out on." I looked up again, my eyes burning with determination, "Because of all the restrictions you've forced on me."
It took me so much courage to say what was on my mind.
The adult snickered, "Ah, I see. I see what are you trying to pull right now."
"I-I just.."
No! You have to keep your composure, Jungwon!
"You just...what?"
"Eunji is going!" I blurted out unconsciously.
My eyes would widen immediately after.
Why did I say that?
"Who?" He narrowed his eyes in suspicion.
For some reason I couldn't stop myself from speaking.
"Eunji. The girl who knows about our secret." I tried to hold his eye contact, but I failed miserably, "She's going. You were the one who said that I have to keep an eye on her."
My father stayed quiet.
As if he was thinking really hard.
"If I am unable to go, she might spill our secret while I'm not present." I tried my best to convince him now that he was wavering.
"I will think about it." My father stood up, leaving me speechless. There was no time for him to think about it when tomorrow was the day of our departure.
"But tomorrow—"
"I said, I will think about it." He cut me off angrily, his eyes alarming to shut the fuck up.
And I did.
Watching him leave the room, I balled my hands into fists with my jaw tightly clenched.
I guess that only leaves me with sneaking out.
Monday, 7:45.
When Eunji woke up this morning she was surprised to see a huge pile of clothes on her bed, meaning that she fell asleep during her call with Jungwon yesterday night. Hurriedly she had to throw some clothes together to not be too late to the predetermined meeting place.
Eunji impatiently tapped her shoe, looking around nervously. With her messy prepared suitcase next to her, her and the class were waiting for their bus to arrive.
"Where's Jungwon?" Youngmin suddenly asked, pulling away from Sunghoon's arm, "Is he coming?"
"I have no idea." Eunji sighed, anxiously biting her lip, as she looked around again.
That's when she noticed her classmates starting to slightly make place for someone, stepping aside with their gazes slightly lowered. It all happened unconsciously. As if a cold breeze flowed through the entire place sending a shiver down everyone's spines.
Eunji on the other hand was the only one who smiled upon seeing him, "Jungwon!"
She ran up to him, leaving her luggage behind.
Just when she was about to throw her arms around the boy, she stopped, remembering that they were among their class right now.
Awkwardly, she backed up, trying to laugh it off, "You..made it."
Jungwon who already held out his arms to hug her, pulled back as well, touching the back off his head while chuckling, "Yeah..."
Before their conversation could continue, the bus arrived, causing everyone to run towards the bus entrance to get the seats in the back.
Eunji and Jungwon decided to take it easy, but despite being the last ones to enter, the bus remained crowded. To the point where it started to be suffocating.
Their classmates were still fighting over seats and the first snacks started flying around from all the tossing and throwing. A complete disaster.
Eunji tried to keep track of Jungwon who was a few students away from her. All the pushing and shouting started making her feel sick as she closed her eyes to fade out the total uproar inside of the bus.
Suddenly a hand grabbed her wrist, pulling her onto a seat behind her.
To her surprise, it was Heeseung who saved her.
"Hey there." He spoke with a smile as she weakly smiled back.
