"Why's everything going so well for you?" Eunji groaned, letting her heavy head drop onto her desk, while Youngmin had to calm herself down from the explosion of laughter.
After listening to her friend's sob story consisting of main character Eunji being rejected by her dragged-out crush Jungwon after she had asked him to be her friend, Youngmin couldn't help but burst into laughters.
"I thought you wanted to take revenge on him?" Youngmin held her stomach, huffing a breath.
"I should have. I had the perfect opportunity to." Eunji sighed in despair, "But—"
"But his gorgeous face made you hesitate and you ended up falling for him all over again?" Youngmin rolled her eyes, thinking she knew her friend inside out.
Little did she know that there was a lot more she wasn't aware of.
"More or less." Eunji threw her head back in annoyance,"I don't want to talk about it anymore. Is there anything else we can talk about?"
"Ah, right!" The girl exclaimed loudly, startling Youngmin to the core. Their classmates started to look at them curiously, "You and Sungh—"
A sharp strike in one of Eunji's sides cut her off immediately.
"What the fuck was that for?" Eunji whined in pain, glaring at her friend, who was in fact a blushing mess right now.
"Do you want the whole class to know?!"
"Know what??"
"Know that...we—" Youngmin couldn't bring herself to finish her sentence as she started to giggle uncontrollably at the thought of her and her certain someone going out.
"You really are crazy." Eunji quickly interrupted her, still frowning at the sharp pain in one of her sides, "Don't talk to me anymore." She joked, rolling her eyes.
At the same time a small smile made its way up to her lips.

Seeing her friend acting this mindless because of mere love was quite amusing.
Her amusement would die down seconds later the moment she saw Jungwon enter the classroom with a lowered gaze.
Quickly she turned away, telling her friend off a second later.
Yes, Eunji was going to be the pettiest she has ever been.
"Good morning." He said softly, gently placing his bag on the ground as he sat down next to her.
Eunji continued to look outside the window, internally thanking the universe for giving her the window seat among the two seats. She pretended to look at something way more interesting than him, which is pretty difficult to beat.
Especially now after she found out about his secret.
Eunji cleared her throat, nodding quickly as a sign of acknowledgment.
Good morning? I certainly did not have a good morning after yesterday's events.
I scoffed to myself and kept looking outside stubbornly.
The tension between us (which was in fact not the good type of tension you would expect) was starting to suffocate me slowly.
"Did you get home safely?" Jungwon suddenly spoke again, making my eyeballs nearly pop out of my head.
Did he just continue their conversation which I intentionally brought to an end?
"Uh, yeah. You?"
I internally cursed to herself, knowing very well that I told myself to not talk to him no matter what.
"Yes."
"Good morning, everyone." My teacher's cheerful and motivated voice disturbed our conversation.
Once again I thanked the universe for starting the lesson right when it was starting to get awkward between me and Jungwon.
I was (diligently) writing down the notes from the blackboard when I noticed that Jungwon started to write something as well.
Which was pretty surprising since he never took notes no matter what lesson we had.

To fill the returning silence he suddenly started scribbling on a tiny piece of paper. I pretended to be uninterested, but couldn't help peeking at it.
I had to gasp for air after I managed to decipher his tiny handwriting before he could hand me the piece of paper.
Jungwon passed the now folded paper inconspicuously to me by putting it beneath his hand, which he smoothly put on my side of the desk.
"For you." He mouthed with a slight smile, making me blink in disbelief.
I was still completely frozen in my spot and didn't dare to open the message.
After all, I already knew its content.
"Did you read it?" Jungwon's voice spoke behind me as I was busy packing my backpack after the bell had already rung.
"No." I replied coldly, trying to keep a straight face.
"Oh." He would simply say, "It wasn't that important anyway."
And only a few seconds later he grabbed my hand and pulled me after him.
"Hey, wait—" I was too stunned to say something at first but the moment I realised what was going on, I immediately stopped, as he stopped abruptly as well.
But it wasn't me who caused him to come to an halt.
He stopped because we have arrived at the same place as yesterday, some sketchy place in our school yard.
"You can let go now." I couldn't stop my annoyance from showing, as I pulled my hand away from his.
Jungwon turned around to me, not uttering a single word which not only contributed to my nervousness, but to my confusion as well.
"So..what's with the abduction?" I raised an eyebrow, still trying to play my nervousness cool. I looked around afterwards. For some reason this place remained empty except for us despite the ongoing break, "Is there something you want to tell me?"
The boy in front of me gulped, clearing his throat as if he was just as nervous as me.
"Is...your offer still available?" He spoke, looking down immediately.
"Sorry?"
"Let's be friends. Please."
I could only gape at him.
He was the most unpredictable person I've ever met.
Surprise was written all over my face and just when I was about to give in and nod eagerly, it hit me like a truck.
This was the perfect chance to finally get my revenge.
I felt a wave of mischief wash over me, as the confusion in my face quickly turned into a grin, "You had your chance."
"What?" His eyes widened.
Jackpot.
"Why? Didn't expect someone to ever reject you?" I couldn't help but chuckle, before crossing my arms, "You can go ahead and bite me to death if it bothers you that much."
"...What?" He repeated, his eyes still wide open.
"Well, It was nice chatting with you." I smiled contentedly and happily walked back to where we entered, leaving him behind the same way he did with me yesterday, "See you in class, Jungwon."
It felt good to be the one confusing him this time.
