"Listen, listen. He becomes funnier the more time you spend with him, I swear!" Youngmin insisted, shaking her head vigorously. Now it was me who couldn't contain my laughter.

"Sunghoon! Get over here!" My friend suddenly called our classmate over, "Eunji doesn't believe me!"

"Did someone call for me?" The blackhaired boy smiled widely, making me glance at him in surprise.

Sunghoon had fangs too.

"Youngmin said you got some pretty good jokes up your sleeve." I shrugged and narrowed my eyes in skepticism, "If you make me laugh I will officially approve of you."

"Really?" Sunghoon's eyes widened when Youngmin hit his shoulder playfully to help him snap out of it.

"You don't need her approval, Sunghoon." She looked down to hide her obvious blush.

"Oh, you definitely do." I laughed when I noticed something.

During the whole time he was here, Sunghoon had only eyes for her. I couldn't help but chuckle again.

These two love birds.

"What..What do a tick and the Eiffel Tower have in common?" The boy finally snapped out of it, turning around to look at me with a shy smile.

"I have no idea." I spoke after a while of exhausting my pea-sized brain.

"They are..." He paused for a moment as if he was trying to maximise the tension, "Both Paris sites."

1...2..3.

It took me exactly 3 and a half seconds before I understood what he was trying to tell me.

Youngmin had already planted her face in her palm, while my stomach started to hurt from the laughter that flood at the most terrible joke I ever heard.

It was so bad that it was actually funny again.

"That one got me." I huffed a breath as an attempt to get back my steady breathing, "You should do this for a living, Sunghoon."

"Should I?" He grinned to himself, turning to Youngmin as if he waited for her approval. She on the other hand just shook her head as she was still ashamed of her boyfriend's bad joke.

I was way too into the whole joke thing that I didn't notice that Jungwon had already sat down next to me.

Like always, I unconsciously turned away from him, glancing outside the window again.

It became a habit ever since I decided to only talk to him when it was completely essential.

That's why I had no idea how to act the moment I heard my teacher call my and Jungwon's name as partners for the upcoming school project.

How great.

"You are pretty good with words, so...you do this one." I pointed at one task, after we got the materials and information for our topic.

The two of us decided to go back to that shady spot again.

The one we always went to when we were having a talk.

I gulped, afraid that it was starting to become our place if we continued to keep this up.

The whole time I was reading the tasks and information, Jungwon kept glancing at me since he was immediately done with scanning through every work sheet.

"What?" I mumbled, trying not to sound too flustered.

I didn't look up from my text, because I knew our eyes would have met.

"Do you...still not want to be my friend?" I heard him say.

"Are you still hung up about that?" I sighed, taking the next piece of paper into my hand.

If I was honest, taking revenge on him wasn't the actual reason why I wanted to ignore him for the time being.

Taking a break and distancing myself from him should function as some sort of personal wake up call.

Since I knew how scary it was to be stalked,

I told myself to get over my unhealthy obsession for him.

"Yeah." Jungwon looked at me intensely, despite me not returning the eye contact.

"Why? What changed your mind?" I put down the information sheets, "You were the one who said no first."

"I-I just felt unsure." He stuttered at my remark, "Since...you would have been the first friend I've ever had."

Internal fist bump. I had to play cool my cry of victory and the butterflies in my stomach.

Clearing my throat, I shook myself back to reality, finally replying to the boy next to me, "Ah, I see."

"There are so many things that are still foreign to me." He continued to confess, as I was still fighting the urge to not smile, "I didn't know what to do when you asked me, Eunji. I was surprised."

"Why?"

"Because I expected you to run away the moment I told you that I was a vampire." He was startled at his own sentence, "But...you asked me to be your friend instead."

The way his voice changed made my heart flutter.

I knew I wasn't going to last at this rate, "Alright then. Let's be friends."

"Really?" His eyes lit up.

"Yep." I turned away to act unbothered when he suddenly held his hand out to me.

"I'm Jungwon." He smiled at me, as I bursted out laughing.

"Nice to meet you. I'm Eunji." I shook his cold hand and continued to laugh, "I mean, I'm basically indebted to you anyway, so it's only fair for me to accept you.."

"Indebted?" Jungwon tilted his head in confusion.

"For the whole thing with Kyong." I explained, gulping at the mere memory, "He hasn't been bothering me ever since."

"He left our school."

"Kyong did?!" I exclaimed in surprise, as I watched Jungwon's eyes darken noticeably.

"Yeah. But he wasn't kicked out." Jungwon told me, "He left on his own. The school is too scared to actually take serious actions against him."

"I'm glad..."

The boy stayed quiet at first, writing down a few notes,

"Eunji, I didn't bite him."

"What?"

"I didn't bite him." Jungwon insisted and I noticed that his teeth were gritted.

"I never said you did." I spoke quietly.

"I didn't hurt him. I didn't. I just—"

"I know." I chuckled softly, "I trust you."

After another 15 minutes of us finishing the last sentences for this group work, I stretched my arms and yawned.

Despite talking about the most various things the whole time, me and Jungwon managed to finish all tasks effortlessly.

To be more precise, he was the one who finished the tasks effortlessly.

"Wait, before we leave." I grabbed his backpack to stop him, "There's something I want to know...if you didn't bite Kyong what did you do to him? He..seemed pretty out of it."

"I hypnotised him to make sure he doesn't remember a single thing." Jungwon didn't turn around to me. As if he was too ashamed to, "Except for the fear and uneasiness, Kyong forget everything. I made him go through the same fear you had to experience because of him."

"I didn't know vampires could do that." I looked up, trying to calm down my sprinting heart.

"They can't. I watched a tutorial on the internet, I really hope it worked." He mumbled, making me laugh again. I hit his shoulder, a really bad habit of mine every time I couldn't contain my laughter, "At least I managed to scare him..."

"I'm sure you did." Putting my arm around his shoulder, I happily skipped forward, dragging him after me, "Teach me next time."

Laughing the entire time during our way back, I felt a wave of glee wash over me.

If I told the past me that I was now friends with the Jungwon, I bet she wouldn't have believed me.

After all, I couldn't believe it either.
