"What in the world..." I unconsciously blurted out, regretting it a second later.
And the next moment I was already pressing my back against the wall around the corner, praying that they didn't hear me.
"Please don't come for me. Please don't come for me. Please don't come for me—" I said to myself internally and closed my eyes, hoping that all of this was just a weird dream.
But in all seriousness, what was going on?
For a moment it was completely silent.
Break had ended a few minutes ago and the screaming and shouting students were gone, contributing to the already quiet school yard, as I cursed to myself again.
If I was lucky enough I could just sneak out of here without anyone knowing.
"Someone help me!"
My eyes widened when Kyong ran past me with the most terrified expression I've ever seen. His school uniform was hanging loosely off his shoulders and his hair was messed up, while sweat dripped down his forehead.
But I didn't have enough time to look at him, because of how fast he ran past me.
This was the perfect chance to get out of here, right?
What was I waiting for?
Something must have gotten into me.
Kyong continued spitting nonsense, as I ran a few steps after him, grabbing his arm.
"What just happened?" I whisper-yelled, but the boy in front of me was unable to answer.
He just looked around in panic and the moment he realised that it was me, Eunji, who was standing in front of him, he pulled away, pushing me to the ground in the process of it, "Get away from me!"
"What the fuck was that for?" I now spoke in a loud voice, not a trace of fear remaining. Groaning, I watched him run back into our school building.
After a few seconds of me sitting on the ground miserably and cursing to myself, trying to figure out how I got in this situation in the first place, I jumped to my feet with determination.
...Just to bump right into Jungwon's arms since he was about to run after Kyong.

The impact was hard enough for me to feel dizzy for a short moment, taking a few steps back.
"Eunji?" His voice was surprisingly calm, as he grabbed my hand to help me regain balance.
"I-I was just about to leave." I stammered, attempting to look into his eyes. But I failed when I noticed that they turned normal.
Those bloodshot eyes I saw just a moment ago were now back to being cold.
"Eunji." He repeated, staring into my eyes as his grip around my hand tightened slightly, "Were you...?"
"Yeah." I answered bluntly, still trying to collect myself as soon as possible, "I was spying on you guys."
That's when it hit me, "Are you okay? Are you hurt anywhere?" I asked breathlessly.
He seemed taken aback and hesitated before he answered, "Kyong is fine. I didn't hurt him yet." He avoided my eyes after I gathered enough courage to hold his gaze, "I just wanted to scare him..a little. To make sure he won't—"
"No, No, not him. I don't give a fuck about him." I shook my head, "I mean, you. Are you okay?"
"Sorry?" Jungwon was taken aback once again.
"It seemed like you two were fighting." I gulped once again, trying to get rid of the lump in my throat, "And it looked pretty...intense. Are you okay?"
He didn't answer.
"I might not be class president anymore, but I'm pretty sure I deserve an explanation. What was all of that?" I crossed my arms, leaning against the wall behind me.
Jungwon let out a sigh, "It was Kyong."
"What?"
"The one who ratted you out and the one who broke into your locker."
"I don't think I'm following right now." My eyes were wide open, as I shook my head in confusion, "What do you mean?"
So Jungwon started explaining everything after we sat down on the ground, leaning against the wall behind us.
"He...he liked you a lot, Eunji." The boy next to me spoke quietly, "But unfortunately his affection soon turned into obsession."

The boy next to me continued speaking the most he ever had, while I stayed quiet, letting everything sink in.
He told me about how Kyong broke into my locker to take my clothes for his collection at home and how he spotted me at the rooftop one day after stalking me like everyday.
And on that day he happened to see Jungwon with me, thinking that we were secretly meeting up. Driven by anger, he decided to get back at me by ratting me out to the principal.
"Shit." I blurted out, feeling my heart beat against my chest from fear, "I didn't know. I had no fucking idea."
"He said he was trying to protect you, Eunji." Jungwon explained, his gaze was gentle, "These past days I decided to gather enough evidence against him. I wanted to prove you that I wasn't the one who ratted you out."
I couldn't think straight anymore. I was scared, knowing that while everything I ever did, I was watched. My clothes were stolen and my privacy was taken.
How could I ever live in peace from now on?
"I just wanted to call him out." Jungwon closed his eyes, huffing a breath, "I didn't want to hurt him. Really. But after I heard him say nonsense about you when I got to class this morning, I couldn't just sit back and watch."
"I know this is a lot to take in." Jungwon suddenly sat in front of me. For a moment I thought, he was going to take my hand.
I wish he did. "I'm sorry that this happened to you. I made sure he won't bother you ever again, Eunji. I promise. Don't be scared."
"Why..." I managed to say with a quiet voice, "Why did you say that you were the one who told the principal on me?"
"Because.." He visibly hesitated, suddenly turning away from me, "That's..that's not important."
"Hey." I tilted my head in confusion, making him turn to me again, "What do you mean?"
"I.."
"Yes?"
"I didn't want you to ruin my plan while I was gathering evidence..."
I was speechless, hitting his shoulder.
Not playfully this time.
"Are you kidding me?!" I pretended to be offended, gasping dramatically before crossing my arms, "I'm such a good actress..I could have helped you!"
"I-I'm sorry, I just wasn't completely sure at first." Jungwon awkwardly touched the back of his head, "I was afraid you wouldn't believe me. On top of that, after the things I said to you on the rooftop, I'm sure you already had bad feelings about me."
I nodded, feeling guilty all of a sudden.
"But everything turned out for the best. I already informed the principal as well."
"Thank you." I managed to say with a bright smile, before looking down, "And I'm sorry for accusing you and calling you names."
"No, I understand." Jungwon tilted his head, "I probably would have reacted the same way."
"Seriously, why are you doing all of this for me?" I could feel my face burn up, as I spoke. Now that Jungwon was sitting next to me, I knew that my attempt to stop having a crush on him was falling apart completely.
He was too nice for god's sake.
"Why not?" He laughed quietly, turning to look to the front, "No one should ever go through anything like that."
That's when I remembered something.
What if he felt the same way about me? After all, I used to be obsessed with him too.
I used to watch him in class.
And smile to myself whenever I thought of him.
For the love of god my locker password was his birthday!
Used to? Who was I trying to fool? I still liked him.
He must feel just as creeped out because of me.
I shook my head, trying to get rid of all these bad thoughts.
Turning to look at him, my eyes turned serious.
While this whole chaos was happening, I almost forgot this one thing I wanted to ask him.
"Jungwon?"
He hummed in response.
"What..happened to your eyes?"
