You get to Bucky's apartment and take a deep breath. He leads you inside and you take a seat on the sofa. His house was minimalistic. Just the necessity's surrounding him but it felt homely none the less. The only real decor he had was a picture of the three of you. You Steve and Bucky, it was Bucky's sixteenth birthday and Steve practically dragged you to Bucky's parents house. Bucky never understood why Steve invited you and you never understood either, but never the less you went. For Steve.

Well you and Bucky got into an argument which turned into a cake fight, and when Steve interfered you and Bucky both took a fistful of the chocolate cake and smeared it over him too. I think that was one of the turning points in Yours and Bucky's friendship, or, mutual understanding of eachother. You both liked to tease Steve into oblivion. The photo shows you Steve and Bucky, covered in chocolate frosting and sprinkles, laughing innocently and happily with one another You picked up the photo and laughed as you relived the memory. Bucky comes to your side and puts an arm around you.

"My father was furious when I returned homes the chocolate had stained the white blouse I was wearing"

Bucky laughs "It was my favourite birthday by far" He squeezes your arm that his is wrapped around and you give him a smile before placing the photo back down.

"I'll go snd get your belongings soon. I don't want it to rain and everything you have get destroyed" Bucky sighs. Shaking his head in disbelief of what you're father has done.

"Thankyou..." you whisper quietly.

You both stay there for a while. You eventually lean your head into Bucky's shoulder and you fall asleep. Bucky moves ever so slowly and carefully, not to disturb you. He manages to lie you down so you're sprawled out on the sofa, he puts a pillow gently under your head and a blanket over you to keep you warm. He leaves a note on the coffee table and heads out.

Once Steve see's Bucky's truck pull up outside his house he rushes out. Not knowing what he's going to do or say in that moment, he just knew he had to say something. Anything. To make it all better.

"Bucky..." Steve pants as he hurries towards him.

"Not now Steve" Bucky sighs.

"Please I just want to..."

"Steve. If you want to be of use right now, help me get all of Daisy's stuff in the truck!" Bucky points out to the pile of your belongings on the front garden of your house.

Steve's stomach sinks seeing it all. He nods and they both head over and start packing up the truck.

"She hates me doesn't she?" Steve asks weakly.

"She told you she loved you Steve. I highly doubt she hates you" Bucky rolls his eyes.

"How do I..."

"Nope. I'm done helping you with Daisy. I tried my best and look where it get me, got her?! You're on your own for this one"

"But...but you said you was with me til the end of the line..."

Bucky drops the clothes he was holding and comes to Steve's side.

"Don't twist it Steve. I will always and I mean always, be with you til the end of the line. But I'm not getting involved with you and Daisy anymore. I really thought you was going to tell her you loved her" Bucky frowns at Steve disappointedly.

"I was"

"So what happened?" Bucky asks in annoyance.

"I was just in shock by her confession and I panicked" Steve shrugs. He looks down sheepishly. Avoiding Bucky's cold gaze.

Bucky shakes his head and put a hand on Steve's shoulder.

"You got to make this right, you were meant to be together. She needs you, and you need her"

"She gave me the necklace back Buck..." Steve chokes on his words. That was something that was still raw in his mind. That was the factor that broke him, the way you looked at him as you placed the necklace in his palm. He felt sick just thinking about it.

Bucky gulps "I know..."

A tear runs down Steve's face and Bucky's heart aches for his bestfriend. Steve's vulnerability and insecurity showing.

"Give her time. She will always be your Daisy Steve. I'm not taking her away from you..."

"I know. I know. I'm sorry I implied that" Guilt washes over Steve's face.

"I know you are. It was kinda nice to see you be so protective over her though..." Bucky can't help but smile softly. Making Steve relax and smile back.

"It was?"

"Yeah, I just wish it was Howard you would have shouted at and not me" Bucky laughs.

"Buck..."

"Yeah?"

"I didn't kiss Peggy...she kissed me" Steve finally admits the truth.

"What?!"

"I tried to pull away but she grabbed onto my shirt. I couldn't get her off!" Steve looks up at Bucky and Bucky finally notices the dark circles of tiredness under his eyes.

"Why didn't you say anything? That's assault!"

"I was...embarrassed" Steve looks down again.

"Steve, look at me"

Steve looks up awkwardly.

"You have to tell Daisy"

"What? No, no Bucky I can't. Do you know how pathetic she will think I am?!"

"No. She will think of you just like I did when you told me, I think you're brave and courageous for telling me the truth. Although, Daisy might slap her, she packs hell of a wallop!"

Bucky snd Steve both laugh at the remake. Easing the tension.

"You're never going to get over that are you?" Steve nudges Bucky.

"She gave me a loose tooth Steve!"

"You deserved it for starting a rumour that she still wets the bed!"

"It was just a joke!"

"We were fourteen Buck!"

Bucky rolls his eyes "alright alright..I deserved it. I guess"

Steve nods agreeing with him.

Once the guys finished loading up all the stuff Bucky takes a deep breath.

"I better get back to her..."

"Okay..." Steve sighs.

"Don't wait too long to come see her though okay? Maybe try telling her the truth this time..."

"Noted" Steve chews on his lip anxiously.

Bucky gets himself in the car and drives away. Steve giving him a wave goodbye.

As Steve gets inside his house he closes the door and holds his head in his hands. A million questions racing through his mind.

"I've been waiting for you..." a voice calls out.

Steve jumps and immediately turns to see Howard in his living room. A cigar in hand and his sunglasses resting on his head.

"I have an offer for you, Steve Rogers" Howard exclaims confidently.
