《Best Friends With The Bad Boy ✓》9 - Detention? Nah, More Like Imprisonment (PART II)

I was in the middle of discussing who invented raisin cookies (and why?) when the door burst open. Everyone quieted down and looked at the entrance of the classroom where a dishevelled looking Elijah was breathing heavily. He straightened up and sauntered towards us with a smug look on his face.

"You alright bro?" Cory asked, amused as we watched Elijah slump down in the desk next to us, exhausted.

"Yeah, just had some unfinished business to take care of." He explained with that same smug look on his face. I examined him quietly when I saw his left fist clenched tightly.

"Well, high five for effort!"I exclaimed randomly, holding up my right hand so he could high five with his left. He awkwardly leaned over and high-fived me softly with his right hand, his left hand still clenched.

"What do oyu have?" I asked him bluntly. He sighed and opened his palm to reveal a simple USB stick. I raised an eyebrow.

"Our English teacher told me she was going to call my parents to tell them about my lack of schoolwork this semester, so naturally I took her USB and dashed out of the room all spy-like so I can delete the details off it." He explained causally, even adding a shrug at the end. I let out an unattractive snort.

"Then why do you still have it?" Some girl at the back asked, listening as well.

"I did say unfinished business." Elijah replied. "Meaning, the jobs not done. Soon enough she'll come back to find out that her USB is gone, and guess where she'll look first?" He shrugged slightly. "Here. So, unless you all want to get excluded..." He turned to look at the people sitting at the back.

"Chloe, Cory and I are going to leave for a bit, ten minutes top. When the teacher comes back inside and asks where we've gone, you need to cover for us, and make sure he doesn't venture out to look for us." Elijah told them,. And they seemed happy enough to do it.

"Cory, you're going to be the lookout. We need to sneak in to her office because the only place her USB works is on her already logged in computer." He explained, and Cory nodded. I turned to him expectantly.

"Chloe, you're going in with me. You'll look around the office for the list of our class's grades while I'll work magic on the computer." He said, and I frowned slightly.

"Why do we need the list?" I asked curiously. "So I can rub out mine, obviously." Elijah replied in a 'duh' voice and I just slapped the back of his head.

"Okay team, let's go!"" He exclaimed and stood up and Cory and I soon followed him out into the hallway. I was using all the spy techniques I'd watched in movies, sliding against the walls and peaking around every corner while Cory and Elijah hummed the 'Mission Impossible' song.

I was having so much fun that I didn't even here the footsteps behind us. I turned around just in time to make eye-contact with a random teacher. I immediately hid behind Cory, making her look at me weirdly, and she just carried on walking without giving us a second glance.

I let out a breath I didn't know I'd been holding. "That was a close one!" I said, grinning and turned towards Elijah to see he wasn't there, but in an open office with Cory standing guard at the door and looking at me in amusement. I just rolled my eyes as I walked by him, grumbling under my breath as he laughed.

"Okay Chloe, put these on-" He handed me a pair of thin, blue elastic gloves, the type doctors had. "And leave things as you found them when you're looking through." He instructed, and then headed over to the computer.

It hadn't occurred to me the serious of what I was doing. I just thought it was a little fun at first but when Elijah handed me the same gloves I was wearing, I realized this could actually be looked into by the school, and there was a chance of me being expelled.

I exhaled a shaky breath as I started looking through piles of papers around the office, humming to myself to keep myself distracted. I glanced over at Elijah who looked completely focused on what he was doing, but totally at ease and I told myself to calm down.

Then out of nowhere Elijah's ringtone sounded, startling the both of us. It was some random Spanish song I'd never heard before, but it was like my body had a mind of its own as I started jamming out to it.

I didn't know where these break dancing skills came from, but I just started hitting all the beats which led Elijah to stop and look at me in astonishment. I gave him a bewildered look and shrugged as I body rolled perfectly.

Thankfully, hisd phone stopped ringing and I stilled, sighing in relief. "Thank goodness that's over-"

-Apparently I spoke to soon.

Whoever was calling him seemed to mean business and this time it rung even longer than before. I was about to go on the floor to do the 'worm' when Elijah's phone quieted down and we heard the turning of a door lock.

We froze and glanced at each other in panic.

We'd made sure to lock the door behind us, and the only person who could get inside was the owner of the office which meant-

"Duck!" I whisper shouted at Elijah as I leapt under the desk, just as the door opened. I heard footsteps enter the room, but it was strange as it sounded like two sets of footsteps, and they sounded like they'd stumbled into the room.

It all made sense when I heard the sounds of two lips moving together in unison- (why I described that in such detail, I don't know) and then someone fell against the desk and the kissing intensified.

"Gross!" I said to myself in disgust and I looked around to see Elijah crouched behind me, but instead with a slightly creepy smile. When we made eye-contact he winked, pointed to the two people above un and made thrusting motions. I just sighed and shook my head, then made the phone gesture.

'How are we going to escape?' I texted him. I looked at him to see him making loads of hand motions. He paused for a second, nodded at me then started crawling away. Panicking, I held to my hand for him to stop but somehow ended up banging my head on the top of the desk.

How that even happened, I have no idea.

The kissing ceased, and the person who was chilling on the desk stood up. "Did you hear that?" The voice of our English teacher asked in a suspicious tone.

Well, that's my cue.

"He probably didn't, but I did!" I said brightly, jumping up and coming face-to-face with Mrs. Brockle and-

Is that my math teacher? How ironic.

"Chloe Woods!" Her shrill voice echoed through the room and I frowned at her puzzled.

"I'm surprised you remember my name after trying to eat each other's faces." I said, pointing at the two of them. "Oh, and you might want to button up." I gestured at her unbuttoned blouse giving me a clear view of something I really didn't want to see.

I looked behind them and saw Elijah outside of the office, looking at me through the windows and making wild gestures. It didn't need a genius to figure out that he meant I should get the heck out of here.

"Oh, I'll just be going. Don't let me interrupt your unprofessional relationship that would definitely get you both sacked." I babbled, slowly edging around the desk with the papers in my hand.

But Mrs. Brockle wasn't having any of that. She glanced at my maths teacher and nodded. "Grab her."

I yelped when he lunged for me, and again my body took control and I slid across the desk separating us flawlessly, kicked the black and comfortable looking spinny chair out of my way and slammed the door shut behind me.

"That was so badass!" I shouted in excitement as Elijah and I ran back to our detention room. He fist-bumped me in agreement and we burst into the room, only to find Cory there standing with our stuff ready to go.

"Go!" He shouted and we presumed our running. Of course it was no effort for them as they're jocks, but I didn't even run when I was running late so I had to take a quick break.

"I'll catch up with you guys later." I told them as I slowed down. They nodded, and carried on jogging, soon exiting the school. I took a moment to look at my surroundings and saw I was once again in a deserted hallway, but it wasn't all quiet.

I heard muffled sounds coming from the nearby janitor's closet and walked towards it curiously.

Maybe someone was stuck inside?

It's happened to me before, so I sympathised with the person and twisted the knob to see a guy and a girl aggressively making out, both half naked.

"Wow, OKAY!" I exclaimed, immediately turning away and they stopped groping each other. I looked back at them to see the girl staring at me with an embarrassed look on her face and- John?

Wow, can someone say plot twist?

A stare-down commenced between us, him looking at me in surprise and guilt where I was just looking at him in shock. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw the girl gather up her clothes. "Um, I'll just be leaving." She mumbled, glancing at the two of us before running to the girl's toilet just opposite us.

I shook myself out of my surprised state and picked up my bag that I had dropped, and then started walking down.

"Clo, wait!" He exclaimed from behind me and jogged to catch up with me, pulling his shirt on then slinging his backpack on to his shoulder. When I ignored him and started walking even harder, his warm hand grabbed on to my arm and I immediately ripped myself out of his grasp, revolted.

"Oh, so after days of dirty looks and cold behaviour, now you want to talk?" I snapped, glaring at him. He looked slightly frazzled with his hair sticking in different directions but of course he managed to pull that off.

"Chloe, please listen to me-" I cut him off once again.

"Oh, like you've been doing? Oh wait-" I let out a loud, sharp laugh then sent him a flat look. "You didn't." And with that I carried on walking towards the exit.

"Well, how would you feel if your best friend suddenly left for two years without any warning and ignored all your attempts of contacting them, then they magically show up again and expect everything to be back to normal?" He practically shouted, running his hands through his hair. My eyes narrowed at him.

"Oh, well here's an idea. Maybe you should listen to them when they try and talk to you!" I shouted back, aggravated. He sighed and his head dropped in defeat. I just watched him with crossed arms, breathing heavily.

The he looked up and stared at me with a strangely determined look, stepped closer, grabbed my arm and pulled me flush against him. Startled, I tried to wriggle out but his strong arms wrapped around me and he leaned in close to-
