"Oh, well here's an idea. Maybe you should listen to them when they try and talk to you!" I shouted back with a sarcastic 'ohhh' face. He sighed and his head dropped in defeat. I just watched him with crossed arms, breathing heavily.

The he looked up and stared at me with a strangely determined look, stepped closer, grabbed my arm and pulled my flush against him. Startled, I tried to wriggle away but his strong arms wrapped around me and he leaned in close to-

-Trip over his shoelaces and bang his forehead on mine.

"What the hell dude!" I exclaimed, stepping back and clutching my head in pain. He was holding his head as well with his eyes shut tightly.

I didn't stick around, grabbing my bag and starting to walk away. "Clo, wait!-" I heard him call back at me but I didn't look back once so he wouldn't see the tears streaming down my face.

After a long, angry walk I finally arrived at my house and I immediately headed up to my room and jumped on to my bed, reaching underneath it to bring out my secret stash of comfort food.

I called Amber so I could Face Time here while munching on my cookies, and after a few rings she picked up.

"Hey baby sis!" She practically shouted, causing my head to pound.

"Will you quiet down?" I snapped and her face reared back with a surprised expression.

"Sorry." I mumbled, rolling out of bed to get an icepack for my head whilst holding my phone.

"It's cool," She replied softly. "Rough day?"

"You wouldn't believe it." I said, rolling my eyes and trudging back upstairs with the pack of frozen peas held to my head.

"I'm just going to skip the details to speak about one person," I told her. "John."

"AKA, you soon to be boyfriend, correct?" Amber confirmed, smirking. I just gave her a dirty look, and then launched into the story.

"Okay, so it was afterschool and I was on my way to the exit. I was passing the janitors closet when I heard odd noises coming from it, so obviously In decided to investigate- because been there, done that- and guess what I found?"

"Um, a mop?" My sister guessed.

"No, John making out with some girl, both half-naked!" In response Amber gasped dramatically.

"Hold on, doesn't he have a girlfriend?"

"Exactly my point! And then he had the nerve to run after me, corner me, then head butt me!"

"Hmm." Amber said, thinking. "So, he just randomly head butted you or did he trip?"

"He was leaning forward, giving me this weird look, them BAM our foreheads collided!" I exclaimed, and all she did was give me a look as if she knew something that I didn't, before moving the phone away slightly.

"I'll talk to you later Chloe, duty calls." She told me and I heard high-pitched crying in the background. I nodded, saying bye and she hung up.

I sighed, and took the peas downstairs; deciding all I could have was a well needed sleep. After checking that the door was locked properly, then make sure I had no homework due the next day, (as if I would do it anyway) I climbed into bed and dozed off as soon as my head hit the pillows.

As it was already November, it was past autumn and slowly the weather was getting colder and windier. So after my usual morning routine of brushing my teeth and taking a shower, I picked out a suitable outfit.

Skinny but comfortable blue jeans with rips at the kneecaps, a black and white striped jumper and a thick, woolly jumper to go over it. I accessorised with a single golden necklace and small earrings then chose my black Adidas trainers to complete the outfit.

After I dressed up, I applied minimal make up, (only mascara and eyeliner) then brushed my hair out and styled it into a sleep high ponytail. I grabbed my bag and strolled downstairs, greeting my mum.

"You look tired." I noted, glancing over at her as I grabbed a snack. She pushed her hair out of her face and gave me a flat look.

"Thanks." She replied in monotone, making me laugh.

"See you later!" I called out as I left the house, and started my walk to school Surprisingly, I was early so I'd be able to maybe see a few of my friends where everyone usually met up, but that guaranteed I would say the one guy I was avoiding as well...

When I arrived I immediately spotted Teresa talking to some guy I vaguely recognized. I started walking towards them, when a figure blocked my way. I sighed and looked up to see the beautiful blue eyes I really didn't want to see.

Okay Chloe, put your sassy face on.

I crossed my arms and leaned onto one leg, raising an eyebrow at John and hoping I looked intimidating. He had an amused smile on his face.

"Is there something you want to say?" I asked sassily. He opened his mouth but I cut him off.

"Let me re-phrase that- is there something funny?" I said, gesturing at the smile on his face. It dropped immediately.

"No, Clo I just-" He took a step closer, and his scent washed over me. It smelt so good.

And I was a sucker for boys that smelt nice.

"You lost the privilege to call me 'Clo' the moment you denied knowing me." I interrupted again. Then I took a step closer, causing him to take a step back warily.

"You also lost the privilege to speak to me when you tried to make a move on me, whilst in a relationship." I whisper-shouted to him, as I didn't want anyone else hearing.

John had a pained expression on his face, as if he didn't know whether to reach out to me or leave me be. I secretly hoped he did the former.

"So," I started again, in a happier tone. "If I was you, I would make like a banana and split."

He huffed, ran a hand through his drool-worthy hair and walked off.

"Yeah, that's what I thought." I mumbled, making faces at his back like the mature girl I am. I heard a chuckle behind me and spun around to see Brock shaking his head in amusement.

"Let's walk to class." He told me, taking my bag from me and starting to walk. I made a small noise of protest and followed him as quick as I could.

"Now, would you like to explain why John has been acting up ever since you came back?" Brock asked, looking at me as we strolled down the hallway. The look on his face basically said 'and don't give me bs'.

I sighed and stopped walking, causing him to stop as well. Then I looked up at him, straight in the eye. "Promise me that if I tell you, you won't speak a word of it to anyone."

He gave me a small smile and held out his pinkie in response. I smiled at that, remembering the time we used to do that in middle school. I wrapped my pinkie around his and he gave it a tight squeeze, causing me to gasp in shock.

"Why are you crying?" He laughed, as if amused at my pain.

"Sorry that we're not all gorillas." I replied with a nose sniff, and carried on walking causing him to laugh from behind me.

"I'll catch you at lunch, yeah?" Brock called out to me, as he entered the clas opposite mine. I just nodded and walked inside, and thankfully only a substitute was there. No-one really took them seriously.

"Erm, Miss!" He called out in a squeaky voice as I walked to my seat. I sighed and turned around to face him, aware of everyone staring at me.

"Yeah?" I answered. His eyebrows rose in offense, causing his glasses to slide further down his nose.

"First of all, that is not the correct way to answer a teacher," He told me, like I cared or something. "Second of all, would you like to come to the front of the class and tell everyone why you're ten minutes late?"

I gave him a fake smile. "No, I would not." I said and sat down at my desk, dumping my bag next to me.

And that's how I got my second detention of the week.

(Let me also add that it's Monday, and this is my first class.)
