We entered the house.

It was quiet.

No movement.

No helpers. No guards stationed outside.

Only Damien's most trusted men Dante, Pear, David and Antony stood there.

I was still digesting everything. I didn't know how to react.

I looked at the coffee table to see something red kept there.

I moved closer to see it was Coco whose brown fur has turned matte red.

I tried touching him but I couldn't build up the courage.

My baby! I thought to myself.

But I remembered that we humans are cruelest of all creatures.

But still who does this to a puppy?

"Once Amber asked me how he is able to understand everything?", I started. Not talking to any one in particular.

"I replied because they use their hearts and can thus understand others and we humans uses our mind thus we are even not able to understand ourselves.", I completed

I mustered the courage as I touched him. Tears spilled out of my eyes. His right leg was chopped off. He died due to blood loss and must while trying to save himself he again and again slipped on his own blood.

"Boss this is the note that was stapled to his ear.", Dante stated.

Before Damien could take it I snatched the note from his hand.

"What...."

He suddenly stopped. I looked at Damien to see that he had stopped Dante.

Just thinking this was stapled to his ear broke my heart.

I stood up as I turned in Damien's direction.

"Read it.", I said.

He read it and then ran a hand through his hair.

"What you did to his mother?", I asked.

"I swear I haven't done anything to his mother. Infact I have never met his mother.", Damien stated.

"What does he wants?", I asked.

"I don't know Rain but I will find it out.", Damien said.

I didn't know what to say. So many have lost there lives and I don't know how many more.

"They have Amber, Damien.", I said.

"I will get her back.", Damien said.

"Let's check the footage and call the investigation team.", Damien ordered.

"Rain please go to your room. You need rest.", he said.

"I need to burry Coco in the garden.", I said.

"You all start looking at the footage. I will come in a while.", Damien said as all left for his study room.

"Come.", he said.

I picked up my Coco as I followed him to the garden. He took our the tools from the garden store and chose a random tree.

He started digging a pit near the tree.

Once done I placed Coco inside of it as both Damien and I covered the pit with soil.

"Rest in peace Coco.", I said.

I say there for a while remembering the sweet moments we shared.

I felt someone kissing me. I peeked my eyes to see it was Amber. I tied my arms around her as I pulled her adjacent to me.

"Good morning baby.", I stated as I kissed her forehead.

She giggled.

I heard a small bark so I turned around to see Coco was standing there at the foot of the bed barking and wagging his tail.

He was too small to climb the bed. I got up and picked him up and placed him on my stomach as I again laid down.

He came closer to my face and started licking it.

"Okay. Okay. A very good morning to you. Happy now?", I asked as he happily barked making me laugh.

Coco.....

"He was so tiny Damien. Why someone gave him such a cruel death?", I asked

Damien didn't give any reply.

"We should go in or you will fall ill.", he said.

He ignored my question.

I nodded my head as he helped me get up.

We made our way inside the house.

"I will go and see everyone. You go and rest in your room.", Damien said.

I nodded my head as I made my way upstairs.

I was devastated.

Today was supposed to be the happiest day of my life and not turn out like this.

I sat on my bed as I thought about Coco. He didn't deserve this. I couldn't help the tears that left my eyes.

I looked at the clock on the night stand. It read 2:30 a.m. and sleep wasn't coming to me.

I left the room as I made my way to the study. People were scattered in the mansion.

All of them trying to find Amber's location.

I entered the door without knocking. He was looking at something on his screen.

"Damien, any leads?", I asked.

Damien looked up and made his way to me.

"You aren't sleeping?", Damien asked.

"When I can feel my daughter is having a sleepless night how can I sleep.", I said.

"Love..."

"No Damien. You don't understand how I feel right now. I know she must have not eaten anything. She must haven't been able to fall asleep. I know it Damien. I know it. I promised her that I would protect her from everything but look at me completely helpless and clueless. I never wanted this.", I cried out in frustration.

I just wanted my daughter. Nothing more and nothing less. Was it too much to ask for?

"For f*ck sake Rain. She is my daughter too. I can feel your pain.", Damien said in the same pitch as mine.

"You need to sleep Rain. Please go and take rest.", Damien begged.

I knew he was right. I couldn't do anything rather than making things difficult for him.

I left the study completely defeated as I reached my room. I didn't feel like changing or brushing my teeth. I haven't eaten anything but again so has my Amber.

I laid on the bed as sleep finally came to me during to exhaustion.

The sleep was dreamless but I woke up by shouting happening outside.

"I can help."

I heard a voice coming from outside and I recognized it.

Dominic

I left the room to see Dominic and Pear standing in front of each other.

"Dominic?", I called.

"Rain!"

Dominic came to me.

"They are not letting me meet brother. I know where Amber is.", he stated.

His voice held desperation and sincerity.

"Come with me.", I said as I passed Pear while holding Dominic's hand.

"Damien, Dominic knows where Amber is?", I said.

"He is lying Rain. He is playing a prank.", Damien said.

"Really brother! Do you think so low of me that I will play a prank at such sensitive time.", Dominic stated. His voice held hurt.

"Damien listen to him.", I said with force.

Damien growled but complied any way.

"The pendant I gave her had a tracker. I know her exact location.", Dominic stated.

Damien got up from his seat.

"Why will you put a tracker in my daughter's pendant?", Damien shouted making me flinch.

"For such a day brother.", he stated.

"If you want you can send your men to check that place. I am not lying.", Dominic stated.

"Show me the tracker.", Damien asked.

Dominic passed his phone to him.

"It is a warehouse of Vincenzo.", Damien stated.

Damien called Pear to confirm it and he also nod his head in affirmation.

"Send a men to check that place out.", Damien said to Antony.

"If Amber is really there and if we send someone there they might get alert and change location.", David intervined.

Damien sighed as he looked at me.

I nodded my head.

"Can I trust you?", Damien asked Dominic. For the first time his voice was this vulnerable.

"I will myself come with you. She is my niece too.", Dominic stated.

"I am calling the whole team. It is time to plan.", Damien stated as hope ignited in my heart.

"I won't disappoint you brother.", Dominic stated.
