Siyari walked around her dark apartment while singing along to the music that played lowly throughout it.

She was bored and alone but that didn't bother her, at times she would go to her aunty's house to spend time with her and at times she would go to her brother house to spend time with him, but that was rare.

She didn't mess with them like that. Her aunty treated her brother, , differently and better, and that always sat on her mind and messed with her.

It made her extremely upset at one point because she tried her very best to make her aunty proud and to make her love her the way she loved brenard but all did was push Siyari away.

Siyari let it stop getting to her though, she soon figured out that she didn't need anyone to love her because all she needed was herself.

All she had was herself.

She walked to her kitchen and grabbed a bowl from out the cabinet and rinsed it out.

Siyari did hair for a living which made her a lot of money. She was 19 living in a 3 bedroom apartment with a 2018 Toyota Camry and she was more than thankful that god blessed her with everything she has at such a young age.

She opened her freezer and grabbed her cookie dough ice cream out.

"I don't need a bowl, I don't know why I grabbed this." She mumbled to herself, drying the bowl and putting it back into the cabinet.

Siyari used to be a really nice and joyful person but once she hit her junior year of high school, everything changed.

The things people said about her became more hateful and hurtful. At first she didn't let it get to her but once the words became hurtful, she broke down.

Her aunty was no help, she let her suffer. She always told Siyari sticks and stones may break your bone but words can not hurt. That didn't help SiYari not one ounce.

Siyari dealt with things deeper than that, her aunt, and brother picked at her for what she dealt with.

That broke her to know that they didn't take her seriously, and that they didn't care for her feelings or her well being.

She then grew angry and kept in so much anger and emotions. Eventually she was going to explode.

After getting her spoon, she walked to her living room and sat on the couch.

As she put the spoon filled with ice cream into her mouth, her phone began ringing, interrupting her music. She picked it up from off the table that sat in front of her.

Checking the caller ID, she rolled her eyes seeing it was the devil herself, Joy.

She let it ring 4 more times before answering. "Hello?" She answered, putting the phone up to her ear.

"Come over to my house, and bring some food." She demanded causing Siyari's face to screw up.

"Do you have any money for the food you want? I have to go grocery shopping, and I barely have enough money for myself." She lied.

Siyari had more than enough money but she wasn't sharing with someone who could care less if she died the next day.

"If you don't want to share money with me then just say that, but remember who took care of you growing up." Joy said.

You didn't take care of me, I took care of me.

"Im being serious, my clients haven't been coming in lately so i've been falling back on money." Siyari said.

Joy hummed in response not believing Siyari. "Well just bring your ass over to my house." She spat.

"Wh-"

Before Siyari could finish, the line went blank. She removed the phone from her ear and looked at it seeing that her aunty had hung up on her.

"Old bitch." Siyari mumbled getting up and going to the kitchen.

Once she reached the kitchen, she put her ice cream into the freezer, and put her spoon in the sink and rinsed it off.

She left the kitchen, grabbed her keys off the table in the living room along with her purse and phone and left the apartment.

She made sure to lock the door before actually leaving, she walked to the elevator and pressed the button that took her to the parking garage. Once she got to the garage she made it to her car, got in, and began driving.

She stayed in the nice part of Chicago. The building was peaceful, there were some couples arguing every now and then, but it wasn't anything compared to where she grew up at.

Siyari asked herself if she wanted to go to her aunty's house or go to her special place. Her special place is where she let all the bad thoughts and feelings go and just smoke and relax.

"Ima go to my special place." She smiled. That place actually made her happy because all happy thoughts filled her mind while being there.

She sat down on the rocks close to being under the bridge and watched the river flow so smoothly and effortlessly.

She then took the blunt she rolled before getting out the car and lit it.

This was the one of the only peaceful places in Chicago she had ever been and no one really knew about it.

The bridge was somewhat abandoned but still in good condition and the sight was beautiful, it eased her mind.

She took a long pull from the blunt and then released the smoke from her mouth.

Her eyes wondered down the river and she seen 3 people running down it bare food. "How the fuck they running on the water?" She asked herself.

She then recognized them and seen that it was her as a little girl and her parents. Her face softened.

Her aunty always told her, her parents never wanted her or Brenard so they left them with her, it was a lie but Siyari didn't know what the was truth and she damn sure didn't believe her aunty.

She took another pull and tried to focus her eyes on the people joyfully running down the river, but once she released the smoke, they were gone.

She sighed and looked down. "This that shit ain't it?" She laughed to herself.

Y'all are more than welcome to leave feedback in the comments- y'all don't have to be negative about it though. I'm the author that talks back and shit, I'm not the "I'ma be the bigger person" author... I most definitely will argue with you in MY comments so don't think shit sweet.

Anyways, I hope y'all like this book- even though it's all over the place. <3
