Aleksios P.O.V. (Unless indicated otherwise.)
"I need your help." Is how I was greeted by my oh-so-lovely twin brother, Niklaus Mikaelson. I was laying on my bed when I got a phone call from my lifelong best friend slash partner-in-crime.
"Hello Niklaus. How are you? I am great thanks." I greet him with sarcasm dripping from my voice.
"I'm sorry." He apologizes sincerely. "Hello Lex. How are you?" He greets with a chuckle.
"Fine, but bored so I'll help." I answer him. Ever since he's left me on my own in Mystic Falls, I've had to much time on my hands to cause trouble. And I missed my twin. We were rarely apart.
"You might want to hear where I am before you offer your help so graciously." He tells me seriously. Nik serious? Oh this has got to be bad.
"Where are you and what is it, Nik?" I ask him, worried, sitting up on my elbows.
"I-i'm in New Orleans" he says slowly and warily, already knowing that I'm going to explode.
"YOUR WHERE?!?!" I boomed through the phone sitting up completely on my bed, disbelief evident in my very loud tone.
"What in the good graces are you doing in that damned town, brother?" I question him, my tone much softer.
"I think you impaired my hearing." He remarks with his usual sass and I rolled my eyes at his antics.
"Your hearing is just fine, stop being a drama queen, Niklaus. Now why are you there?" I ask him a second time, hoping he would answer me instead of making a comment just to irritate me.
"There is a witch conspiring against me." He says and my anger flares. I may like witches and their power, but I have no tolerance for people that goes up against my family.
"I'm on my way." I inform him and I know he's smiling.
"Oh, it gets better" He says sarcastically and I groan audibly.
"How?" I asked, frustrated. What the hell has my twin gotten himself mixed up in?
"Marcellus is alive." At those words, I exploded for a second time in the time span of five minutes.
"Excuse me?" I screech through the phone and I can hear Nik breaking himself at my reaction.
"You mean to tell me at after all these years that little shit is still alive and healthy?" I questioned sourly.
"Alive, healthy and running our city." My twin responds just as sourly. Of all the places we settled down, New Orleans was our favorite.
"Well, is there any other surprises that could give me a heart attack that you want to tell me about now?" I asked in an exasperated tone, throwing my free hand up in the air.
"Not that I'm aware." He says trying to stop his laughter. If I was face-to-face with him, I would have hit him over his head.
Instead of making a sarcastic remark, I say, "Alright then. See you in a couple of hours."
"See you, Lex. Safe drive." He tells me and I rolled my eyes at his protectiveness. I'm a grown woman, one half of the Original Hybrid twins and he still treats me like a baby.
But I wouldn't trade him for anything in the world.
"Don't roll your eyes at me." He says and I huffed as I got of my bed to start packing.
"Goodbye Nik."
"Goodbye Lex." He pauses. "And thank you." He says sincerly.

"No problem, twin." I said sincerely, smiling as I did so.

A few hours later I was walking down one of the many busy streets in New Orleans, looking for my twin brother by scent. It didn't take very long to find him.
"Niklaus!" I call out to my brother who is currently stomping to god knows where. He spun around at the sound of my voice. A smile lit his face when he spotted me and he started to walk towards me.
"Aleksios." He says reaching me and hugs me tightly. I didn't hesitate to hug back, having missed my twin. A lot.
"You okay, twin?" I asked him and he smiled fondly at my concerned tone.
"Yes, I'm fine. I was just about to go ask Marcel why I have chaperones." He informed me and I grinned.
"Well, let's go then." I say linking our arms and I start to walk, only to realize that I have no idea where I'm going.
"Where exactly is it that we're going?" I asked sheepishly, a small smile on my face, and Nik chuckled. I narrowed my eyes at him and he held his hand up in defense.
"I'll speed us there." As soon as the words left his mouth, he grabbed my arms and we were gone.
It was a few seconds later when Nik stopped at a beautiful building in the quater which I recognise as our former home. The compound. There is a lot of good memories in this place.
I glanced at Nik, who spotted one of Marcel's men approached him aggressively. "Where is Marcel?" Nik asked him, his tone stern.
"And who the hell is asking?" The dark skinned guy asked us rudely and I stiffled a laugh when I saw my twin glare at him murderously.
"I assume you're joking." I commented to the man, adverting my gaze from my glaring blonde brother to him.
"I only answer to Marcel." The guy retorted and I raised my eyebrows at him, crossing my arms over my chest while mentally counting how long it wil take for my twin to snap. You see, as an the Original Hybrid twins, our presence naturally demands respect from the supernatural community. And when we don't get it, we are often offended and the result is usually very unpleasant.
"Well then, in that case perhaps you'll answer to this." Nik grabs the man by the neck and his eyes vamp-out. "You're aware the bite of a werewolf can kill a vampire?" He asked and didn't wait for an answer before he started talking again. "Well, as you can see, I'm half werewolf and so is she." Nik tells the man, pointing to me and I flashed him my yellow eyes.
"In case you haven't pieced it together yet, we're the Original Hybrid Twins." I told him, smirking at the fear on his face and the fear that was rolling of him in waves.
"So I'm gonna ask you one more time, where is MARCEL?!" He shouts in the mans face and I almost feel sorry for the younger vampire, who looks like he's about to poop his pants. Almost.
"Hey, I'm right here, I'm right here, easy now. Diego's just looking out for me. Nobody harms my guys, those are the rules." I heard the man in question as and I turned to him. My eyes widen slightly at the sight of him and disbelief along with happiness fills me. He was like family to me once. Now I don't know what he is to me.

"You are aware my brother and I practically invented the term rulebreakers, right Marcellus?" I said, making my presence known.
"Lex Mikaelson. Can't say I'm really surprised. You and Klaus are practially joined at the hip if I remember correctly." He says a little surprised, flashing me a smile covering it. I rolled my eyes at him and uncrossed my arms.
"Your memory is serving you right." I told him. "And those smiles of you only work on Rebekah." I added on, flashing him a smile of my own and I hear Nik chuckling behind me.
"Sorry to break up this lovely reunion but back to the reason I'm here." My twin said, interrupting us. "Why are you having me followed?" He questioned Marcel.
"Come here." He requested of my twin, stepping closer to Nik. "I get it, a show of force. You've made your point." He says leading my blonde brothee away and I follow the duo.
"Fine. Why don't you show me what you've done with the place, while you explain exactly what it is you've been up to in my town?" Nik answers him and from the way he says 'my' I can tell he wants it back and will stop at nothing to get it back.
"Follow me." Marcel said, smiling brightly and proudly. "Look at that skyline, huh? That there, that's progress. More hotels, more tourists, more fresh blood. And the humans? I taught them to look the other way." He informs us, obviously proud of his work.
"That is quite remarkable, Marcellus." I complimented seriously and he grinned at me.
"And what of the witches? In my time, they were a force to be reckoned with, and now they live in fear. How do you know when they're using magic?" Nik blurts, both intrigued and confused.
"Maybe I got a secret weapon, an ace up my sleeve. Something that gives me complete control over all the magic in this town." He states in a somewhat bored tone while putting something in his mouth, I identify it as vervain.
"You take vervain?" My nosey ass brother asked him.
"Nope, he made himself some poisonous sweets." I tell my twin in a sarcastic tone. It only got me a glare.
"Burns like a bitch, but I figure I should limit the number of things I'm vulnerable to. Don't be mad about that chaperone thing. I've told my guys to look out for you, that's all." He tells my brother and I, causing me to snort.
"You're aware he's an Original Hybrid, right?" I asked him retorically.
"Yes, I am" He answers in a 'duh' tone, just to annoy me.
Down below a blonde woman walks by and they start talking about her and having no interest in her, I went and leaned against a wall. I tuned out of their conversation, thinking about my brother and Marcel. I know for a fact this won't end well.
When Nik sees something he wants, he tends to go after it until he gets it. No matter who gets hurt in the process. Mystic Falls is one of many examples. He has killed Kings, slaughter armies for something that he wants. I know this because I've always been by his side.
"Evening, Elijah." I snap out of my daydream, well nightdream, at the mention of my eldest brother's name. I looked around, spotting my dark haired brother but Marcel was nowhere near sight.
"Niklaus, Aleksios." He greets us both. "No suprise you're here." I pushed myself off the wall before walking over and giving him a hug.
"Yes well, we did swear 'Always and Forever'." I added him but we both knew that I was serious.
"What an entirely unwelcome surprise." I hear Nik comment behind me. I rolled my eyes at my twin. He is always looking for trouble.
"And what an entirely unsurprising welcome." Elijah retorted and I smirked. "Come with me." He ordered and knowing Nik will have something to say, I intervened.
"Knock it off, you two." I said sternly, stepping between the two, glancing at both my brother's before settling my gaze on Elijah. "You know I don't fancy being ordered. Why do you want us to follow you?"
I never got an answer because Nik opened his mouth, "I'm not going anywhere. Not till I find out who's conspiring against me." Although I was annoyed that he interrupted my discussion with Elijah, I was satisfied with his words and turned my faze to my twin. I was beginning to wonder if he would ever bring this up. I wanted the threat to my family eliminated as soon as possible.
"I believe I just found that out for you." Elijah informs us, and we both turned to him with curiosity. When he didn't say anything, I decided to speak up.
"Well, what are we waiting for then?" I questioned impatiently. My two brothers just laughed at me and my impatience. Of all the Mikaelson siblings, my patience level is the shortest. Even more so than my twins'.
"Still as impatient as ever." Elijah says ruffling my hair and I huffed, playfully slapping his hand away.
"You still love me." I said, smiling at him.
"Yes, I do." He confirmed with a nod of his head, chuckling softly.
"Well, where are we of to?" Nik questions our eldest sibling.
"To the cemetary." He replies before speeding off and my eyes widened.
"Wait, what?"
***
Ariving at cemetary, I sensed another werewolf and my confusion was spiked. What the hell are these witches playing at?
"What are we doing here?" Nik asked Elijah, the two of us following our older sibling to wherever.
"Yeah, it's creepy." I commented, scrunching up my nose in disgust.
"You wanna know what the witches have in store for you? Follow me." He tells us vaguely, entering one of the mausoleums and I sighed in annoyance. We followed him all this way only to see a witch?
"Sophie Deveraux." Nik said in recognition but I had no idea who he was talking about. "What the hell is this?" He asked, the anger in his tone obvious.
"They're all yours. Proceed." Elijah says to the witches.
"My god, what in the bloody hell is this all about?" I snapped, fed up with being kept in the dark.
"You know you two famous are this town? Witches tell bedtime stories about the powerful vampires Klaus and Lex Mikaelson." A witch, who I'm assuming is Sophie Devereaux, started. "We know Marcel was nothing but an orphan street rat, until you made him what he is, Klaus. And now he's out of control. He does what he wants, he kills who he wants." She tells us and stopped for a few seconds. "I'm gonna stop him, and you're gonna help me." She added on looking at Nik.
"This is why you had us brought here by Elijah? You do realise if it comes down to it, my brother will kill you and I don't particularly like you, so I'll help." I tell the witch, looking at her with a devilish grin and I see fear flash through her eyes but she quickly covers it.
"Hear her out." Elijah intervenes before I could do anything and I rolled my eyes.
"Buzzkill." I said, looking at him and he gave me a smirk.
"Klaus. You need to listen to them." A brunette girl tells my twin, her tone pleading as she appeared out of no where. I looked her over and she looks familiar but I can't place her.
"You're all out of your minds if you think some liquor-fueled, one-night stand no offense, sweetheart, means a thing to me." Nik informs them with annoyance seeping into his tone.
"Who are you?" I asked, the brunette, not being able to figure it out.
"Hayley." Oh yeah, Tyler's little helper.
"You slept with her?" I ask my twin brother, distaste covering my tone.
"In my defense, I was drunk." He says putting his hands up in defense and I gave him a pointed look.
"Are you ever sober?" I retorted in a playful tone.
"I am now." He sasses me and I chuckled.
"Back to why we're hear. Marcel may be able to keep us from practicing real magic in this town, but as keepers of the balance we still know when nature has cooked up something new. For example, I have a special gift, of sensing when a girl is pregnant." Quickly piecing the pieces together and my eyes widened in realisation. Oh shit, I did not see that one coming.
"What?" Nik and I asked in unison.
"I know, it's impossible." Hayley says and I turned to her.
"Yeah, no shit." I say looking, well, glaring at her and she looked away, uncomfortable with my glare. Although most people are so I'm used to it.
"What are you saying?" My twin asked. Good lord he can be slow sometimes.
"Niklaus...the girl is carrying your child." Elijah said, voicing my realisation.
Holy Fuck.

The Core And The Wardens of Eternity
What is the Core, they asked me... It's the light that pushes the darkness away, a bastion of justice, a safe keeper of life. It grooms love and tolerance, embraces science, fights ignorance, sentences it to die a slow and tragic death. The Core... it's something that can't be destroyed for destroying it is to terminate the time and space itself. When the stuck-in-a-dark-age world of Zanria goes offline, the Core sends one of its experienced agents to find out what is going on and to try to reestablish a mysteriously severed connection. However, all his training and experience might come way short as the world sinks in war and chaos with different races and clans fighting for the Star of Bardan, the ward rumored to possess enough supernatural power to create and destroy entire worlds. *** I just changed the name of the series, from 'the Nexus' to 'the Core'. Somehow it just sounds more right to me. This is the first story, and it has a medieval fantasy setting. But, eventually, this is going to turn into Isekai series with elements of LitRPG. So, my future books might include worlds with advanced technologies that might be more in SciFi, including Steampunk, genre. The first book might start slow, but after a few chapters, it should all be properly set up, and by then you should get the feel of how it will all flow. Also, I plan to introduce different story threats that should spread out and criss-cross in the future. Hopefully, I will not complicate it too much, and that it will all read good. I am planning to continue to add chapters to the main storyline here, but I'm also starting a new story threat in the Core series called The Recordings of Raan. There is also a side story The Memoires of Eisen that's exclusive on Patreon for those who would like to support me.

Vemödalen: From The Other Side
War is coming - And when it comes - And where it comes - And whence it comes - The living shall envy the dead One to carry their sword in the name of their goddess and lady, to protect their land and people against the threat of the wicked. They know their path to be the righteous one. One to roam the land, hunting for all apparitions, and be scorned by man and beast alike. They know their path to be an arduous one. One to wander the realm in search of power, to protect themselves and what they believe in. They know their path to be the only one. Writers note: The first chapter will set the standard in terms of mood for the remainder of the story. It also comes to no surprise to me that half the people who read the first part stop reading any further. It has quite a bit of the good ‘ol ‘ultra-violence’ mixed with a great deal of realism. As much as I could fit into it from my own knowledge and experience in the elite forces. The first few chapters will be slow, after, but starting from ‘Restless Destroyer’ the remainder of the world will start to open up, and when we hit ‘Adronitis’ the prologue is largely finished. The novel is well thought out and filled with hidden lore, culture, history. So even if my word choice appears random – it’s not. There is a reason why these chapters take as long as they do. Vermodalen is fantasy adventure, with magic and heroics in an as realistic setting as I could fit. Things are rarely what they seem, and the ugly nature of people bleed through the letters at the turn of every page. I hope you can give this story a fair chance, even if it isn’t immediately to your taste. Lastly, english isn't my first language. It isn't my second one either. So, if you find errors in grammer and spelling, wordplay and sentance building, do let me know, and you will be rewarded by a surge of dopamine that will be released inside your brain for helping someone whom you haven't even seen or heard.
