《All At Once》"Let's do it"

It's been about a week since I caught my ex-boyfriend (Luke) and my best friend (Sarah) in my bed together. It's also been a week since my night with Myles. It's all I've been able to think about. It's kind of sad that I probably won't see him again. He seemed to be quite the catch.

As of now I'm staying with my parents until I can find another apartment. Which will hopefully be soon. Because as much as I love my parents, they are a bit if a handful.

My parents, Fiona and Reuben, have always been madly in love. Since I can remember, my goal was to one day have a love as pure and wholesome as theirs. A love that only comes once in a lifetime. A love so strong that not even the strongest forces could destroy it.

Unfortunately, in this day and age, that type of love is as rare as unicorns. Only found in books and movies.

But they have it. And sometimes it can be so nauseating to watch.

Like right now, my mother is baking cookies, whisking all the wet ingredients together. My dad approaches her from behind, my mother to entranced in her baking to notice. He then snakes his arms around her waist as if they were teenagers again.

But it's beautiful.

I pick myself up from the couch, deciding to go for a walk. I step out into the beautiful May weather, where the flowers have bloomed from the previous spring rain.

There aren't many places here in Dallas where we can go and be hidden from the loud noises of traffic. But sometimes it's nice to walk along the sidewalk, and watch all the people make their way around the city.

I'm a big people watcher. You never know what the person passing you is going through. Sometimes I like to make my own predictions of their lives, though I keep it to myself. Might be a good way to offend someone.

Eventually I make it to this beautiful cafe that I love to go to. When I walk in I'm greeted by the beautiful fairy lights and boho style decorations that make this place so cozy.

I walk up to the counter where I see Logan, a barista who is here almost every time I am. Eventually after me coming here several times, I decided to talk to him, other than just ordering my drink.

Now we're pretty good friends. He's a year younger than I. Me being 22. His parents own the cafe, and that's why he's always here. Logan does online college courses, studying to be a high school teacher.

"Hey Harper," he said with his deep voice.

"Hey Logan."

"The usual," he asked, knowing I only get one thing, always.

"Not today," I said with a small smile.

"I just came in to see if you were working."

He smiled, "When am I not."

"True"

He gave a lopsided grin. I had to admit he was very good looking. With his bronze skin, golden eyes, and dark hair that was always styled in a quiff.

"How is Everly?" I asked, referring to his girlfriend.

"She's amazing, how is Luke?"

At this point I don't even hesitate to tell people what happened.

"We're done. He cheated on me."

His eyes filled with concern and worry, but at the same time a small bit of anger.

"I'm sorry Harp. Do you know who with?" He asked in with a throaty voice.

"Sarah," I said not breaking eye contact.

I could see the anger he was feeling in his facial expressions. His eyebrows were drawn together, and his nose was scrunched up. His eyes were narrowed as if he was thinking hard.

When I realized that he was at a loss for words I continued to speak.

"And now I have to find a job, since I just graduated," I said exasperated.

His eyes brighten up quickly, and before I knew it he was reaching underneath the counter for something.

When he came back up. I noticed he had placed a flyer on the table. I took a look, it read,

Photographer wanted for Dallas Cowboys. If interested please email the following address with your name, number, age, and virtual portfolio. We will call you if we are considering you.

"Oh my gosh, Logan! This is perfect."

He gave me a heartstopping smile. "I had actually forgotten all about it until you said something about a job," he admits sheepishly.

I couldn't get the smile from my face. This would be an amazing job. I would travel all over America, taking pictures of hot, muscular men. What more could I ask for.

"So what do you think?" Logan asked.

I look up at from through eyelashes.

"Let's do it."
