Hanzo stared at McCree curiously. He wanted to know what they were discussing.

"McCree? Did he ask about Jacob?"

"Yeah."

"What did he ask specifically?"

"He was just wondering when I saw him last. They saw I was the last person he called."

"What did you say?"

"Just that we both came down the day before to grab a few things and that's when Jacob spilled his drink on you. I told him we went home after that."

Hanzo sighed in relief."

"That is good to know. Do you believe Sheriff Abner will want to question me as well?"

McCree stroked his beard and peered up.

"It's possible. Jacob liked to affiliate himself with ya."

Hanzo shivered.

"I cannot believe he was getting closer just so he could expose me. So dishonorable!"

"I'm gonna be honest with ya Hanz. We might have to leave the country if Nathan dives too deep into Jacob's case. No pun intended."

Hanzo put a thoughtful hand to his chin.

"I don't think the sheriff assumes that Jacob is dead...yet."

"Lemme yell you somethin darlin. The only way Nathan wod ever find out is if he started swimming in the ocean. Lucky us, Nathan is terrified of the ocean. Don't read too much into it Han. If Nate does find out, I gotta plan."

Hanzo chukled a bit and smiled. He leaned into McCree nearly touching his nose with his own.

"You always seem to have a plan."

McCree smiled.

"Have one for every occasion, sugar bean."

"How do you know Jacob?"

"He was my boss."

"I saw on his call logs that he made several calles to this asylum. Was he contacting you?"

"Yes, I needed him to do something for me."

"What was it?"

Lucas scoffed.

"That's the reason I'm in this hell hole. " He leaned foreward. "Ya see, if I told you, you wouldn't believe me."

"Go ahead and tell me anyways. You're not losing anything if you tell me. Like you said, I'll think you're crazy just like everyone else thinks so too."

Lucas sighed and rolled his eyes.

"I have reason to believe that Hanzo Shimada is a mermaid."

Nathan raised his hand.

"I'm sorry a what?"

"Or rather a merman. I asked Jacob to continue to find evidence to this. He had now luck. You say Jacob is missing. I bet that damn cowboy killed him or somethin."

Nathan stared at Lucas sternly.

"You are in no position to be accusing folks of murder, son. I have no evidence that says Jacob was murdered."

"I bet McCree is so in love with Hanzo that he'd kill people who threaten him. Jesse McCree has to know his secret. Or maybe Hanzo is keeping his secret from him and is waiting for the perfect moment to strike."

"That's enough!"

Lucas shook startled by Nathan's booming voice. He pointed a firm finger at Lucas.

"I know McCree personally. He's a very good friend." Nathan put his hat back on and stood up. "Bad things happen to those who accuse without evidence."

"I have evidence! Hanzo shot me!"

Nathan looked at the files in his hand.

"Oh yeah, looks like you did have some recent medical records stating that you drove a boat in and collapsed. A dose of jellyfish vebom was in your blood and you had a shark tooth in your back." Nathan looked up at Lucas. "That's not evidence, son. You were bit by a shark and stung by a jellyfish. That has nothing to do with this case. Have a good one Lucas."

Nathan closed the door behind him.

----------2 days later----------

"What's Nate askin about?"

"You mean the sheriff? He was asking if I knew Hanzo or if I saw him doing anything suspicious. He seems to think Hanzo is responsible for Jacob's disappearance."

McCree swallowed hard and looked below the bar stand. He leaned his hands against the counter and took a deep breath. He looked back up a d smiled.

"Thanks for letting me know."

He quickly headed out the door of the doc house and ran home.

"Han! There's a black duffel bag in the closet! Pack what ya need! I'll be out soon!"

McCree quickly ran to the closet in his room. Hanzo stared in shock.

"Did the sheriff find out?"

No answer.

"Jesse?"

"He's on to us!"

All of a sudden McCree kicked the back wall of the closet in and reached inside.

"What are you doing?!"

"We're gonna need this."

McCree pulled out a black brief case full of cash. The two men nodded at eachother. They both packed a duffel bag. Not too far from the house was an old barn. McCree and Hanzo crept inside. McCree pulled an old sheet off of a hover bike. He got on and started the bike. Hanzo stared in awe.

"C'mon Hanz! We gotta go!"

He got on the bike.

"Wait Jesse! What about Genji and Dr. Ziegler?"

"We're gonna have to call them later. We're out of time!"

McCree quickly sped out of the barn and drove further and further from the ocean. Hanzo looked behind him. They drove along a hill and Hanzo could see the ocean getting further and further away. He stared solemnly wondering if he'd ever see it again. He wrapped his arms around McCree and nuzzled his face into his back.
