It had been about 4 hours sense we left camp and we were almost to the airport. Everyone was sleeping except Nikki and Neil who had just woke up from a deep sleep.
"Are we there yet David?" Nikki said as she yawned.
"Yeah, what she said." Neil said while looking up at me.
"Just about there kiddo." I said with a smile. We were about to exit off at the airport.
"CAMPERS WE'RE HERE!" I excitedly said. Everyone jolted at the sudden yell from Me. The airport was really big and also deep into the city. We went to park the car in the huge parking lot of the airport. We all piled out of the car and I locked the car. I went up to the booth to hand them my key I did a couple other things like how long we would be gone for and where we we're going. Max walked right into the street, and a car was close by.
"Max! Get out of the road!" I grabbed him by the arm and pulled him to me.
"What the fuck David I'm not gonna get hit by a car or something" Max snapped. All of us went into the elevator that led up to the main terminal. There was a small family of three next to us with a bunch of bags. We stood in silence for a minute, then the mom of the family turned to me.
"So are these your kids?" The women asked. Even though they weren't I felt weird telling a person I never met they weren't my kids and that they went to a camp but I was just taking them on a airplane to California.
"Yeah, I adopted most of them." I said with a huge grin on my face. The lady smiled softly and then the doors opened.

I kept thinking about Neil as much as I didn't want to I couldn't stop thinking about him. After what happened with me and max I felt sorta bad. We walked out of the elevator and as soon as we did we all went running towards the walk way escalators in the floor. I walked up to it and we all ran down the small walk way. David ran down to the end wrangling us all.
"Come on kiddos! We have 30 minutes before the plane leaves." David said while he dragged all of us to the gate.
"Wow awesome airplanes!" Space kid yelled excitedly. We sat down on the soft yet hard waiting seats. Our plane was already here but they were cleaning out the plane and hadn't started boarding yet.
"I've never been on a airplane." I said to Neil who was sitting next to me.
"Oh I have don't worry it's not scary." He reassured me.
"What about you max?" I asked curiously.
"Oh yeah a bunch of times, it's fine." He said with a serious look on his face. We were all sitting down waiting for the plane to board while David was getting the tickets. Preston was insisting we should imagine how David was going to intervene. I thought it was silly but everyone was having fun. A speaker came over head,
"It's time for flight 203 to board at gate 4." That was our flight, time to board.
"Hey Neil, I'm a bit nervous to get on the plane." He put a hand on my shoulder.
"It's okay don't worry me and max are here for you." He said and slipped his hand away. I turned to max who glared at me and walked away.

"Come on guys! It's time to get on the plane!" David came over to us and motioned for us to get up. I shakily grabbed Neil's arm and we headed for the line. We stood there talking to each other still for about five minutes. David handed each of us a ticket.
"Alright don't loose these because we don't have extras." He said patting me on the head. I smiled wide at him and looked back at max. He was standing next to me and was watching the planes outside. He shivered a bit and then looked back at me. I quickly tuned back to David who was now giving us a pep talk of what we were going to be doing when we got there. After 6 long hours of waiting we finally were boarding the plane.
"Alrighty Guys stick together, and stay with your buddy!" David said going down the hallway to the plane. Everyone was walking down the hallway. We were greeted onto the plane by a lady with long blonde hair.
"Welcome!" She said with a fake smile across her face. I smiled back and proceeded to get to my seat. Of all the campers of course it had to be max. I had never been on a plane and I didn't need to be thinking about that kiss we shared earlier that day. We both sat down and buckled our seat belts in. As the time came down to getting up in the air max shuffled around nervously. I had never been on a plane either but he was more shaken up then me.
"Everything Okay?" I asked.
"Oh, yeah I'm just uh....well I mean.... I've never been on a plane before." He said with guilt in his voice. I looked at him and gave him a reassuring look. All the campers were seated and looking out the windows. The plane was moving as the air attendants showed us the things to do in case of emergencies. After they ended that the pilot said it was time to take off. I was shaken and a little scared when we took off. The plane rolled up into the air and I felt a sudden drop in my stomach. As the height of the plane grew more I looked out at the beautiful city from up in the clouds. Max even looked over and had a small smile on his face. David was seated in front of most of us. So we were all in awe from the city lights. I was looking out the window when I felt a hand on my shoulder, of course it was max. I slid it off and gave him a sad but happy look. He turned his head and looked around at the other campers. I felt a pain of guilt when I saw Neil behind me looking out at the city. I knew I had to tell him about what happened with me and max sooner or later.

Meek
After failing as an apprentice cooper and a town guard, Eli finds his place at the Rockbridge archives. Sure, he's the oldest 'junior scribe,' but he likes the job. And he's good at it, too. Then he completes an apparently-insignificant project, and the brutal reaction shocks him--with consequences that eventually shake the world. Eli gains powers. Rare and inhuman abilities. He progresses slowly, steadily, and not without setbacks. He changes, too. Is he a hero, a villain, a human, a monster? Depends who you ask. Meek is an epic fantasy with elements of progression. The basic magic is simple: five Paths, each with a different powerset. However, complexity arises from combinations, and the protagonist wields a magic all his own. Meek is set in the Valley, the only (as far as anyone knows) human empire that survived a Final Battle against a terrible foe. The Valley is warded against infiltration, but the enemy learned how to warp human souls, to foment discord within. However, another soul is also ... changed. Perhaps even 'warped.' And that soul is starting on a long (long, long) path that might, one day, prove that the Final Battle wasn't so final after all.
