《"Partners"- Jin ff ✓》6

We entered a door and we saw him. Just like the photos. Yang ChiWon. Jin and I entered the room closing the door behind us without giving them any explanation whatsoever. The room is also luxurious with a smell of alcohol and smoke.
"Who are you?"- Yang ChiWon frowned at our sudden presence.
"Hey hey, my friend, so long"- Jin entered as if he was an old friend of this man and sat next to him. I am about to see his acting level.
"My friend?"- the man frowned.
"Yes, don't you remember me? We went to the same highschool! Ah, good times"- Jin said and I almost believed it myself.
"Oh...hum...yeah... you're...hum you're..."
"Taeyong"- Jin lied and the man actually believed they were old friends.
"Ah, Taeyong! Exactly! Yeah, I remember you from that place from that school"- ChiWon said and I almost laughed at his innocence-"and who is that?"- he pointed at me.
"Oh, that's my girlfriend, she is shy, right babe?"- Jin performed pulling me to him making me sit on his lap. I knew this was all a part to play but it was still weird.
I simply smiled and acted dumb playing with my hair while nodding. I too have good acting skills.
"I see, she's very bonnie"- the man commented with a strange smile and I was suppressing my urge to hit him. - "so, what are you doing here, Taeyong?"- he stupidly asked Jin.
"Well, my girl and I just moved here to the US and we were looking for some jobs"- Jin said.
"And?..."
"And we hear you have connections with a gang...you know...a big gang that can earn us money"- Jin acted like a thug. He is actually good at this.

"Money?... you know what the first rule of a gang is?"- he asked us while putting his cigarette on his mouth and breathing it's toxicity-"...trust...."- he finished
"Trust..."- Jin repeated.
"Yes, trust...what guaranty do I have that you will not go to the police?..."- the man asked us.
"What guaranty do I have that you won't kill me?"- Jin answered with a question as the conversation turns serious.
"Well...if you don't screw up, we don't kill you"- he told us with a cynic smile.
"Well, then why would I screw up"- Jin firmly answered with seriousness. The man took a chance to smile even wider. He lightly taped his cigarette on the edge of a cup near him.
"Fair enough"- the man sad and gave us a paper with a number and an address.
"This is my number and this is an address for a party next week. All the people above me will be there, show up there...maybe you'll have a chance"- ChiWon said.
"Shouldn't I start with the lowest job?"- Jin asked.
"By words, I assume you can very much persue anyone that we would want...just like you did to me...it would be a waste to have you doing the dirty jobs, wouldn't it?....as for your girl...we can find her something to do"- ChiWon said and winked at me, making me feel disgusted.
With all that, we finally left that small and smelly room, but a frown was visible on both of mine and Jins face.
"Did we just get a free pass to see all the criminals?.."- I was in disbelief.
"Omg... I'm so awesome"- he was quite shocked too and I rolled my eyes.
"We should go home to talk about this before anyone can hear us, but let's eat something on the way there, I'm hungry"- I said in a whisper

"Ok, I just need to pee first"- he said.
"Alright"- I finished the conversation and we started to move in the same direction to part ways a corner away, but before we could go forward, I stopped on my trails putting my arm in front of Jin for him to stop too.
"What? What is it? What?"- he got startled.
"Isn't that guy Jungkook? AKA the criminal who escaped from our hands?... let's go"- I was ready to attack but he grabbed my wrist.
"No, don't do that! If we follow him and we don't catch him, he'll recognize us and tell on us on that party next week, use your brain"- Jin judged me, flicking my forehead
"Jin...he is the reason why we're here...he knows who we are!"- I tried calling him for reason ready to hit him.
"Oh.. right...let's catch him!"- Jin said and we both started walking.
The Jungkook guy, who was one his phone, lifted his head for a second, but it was enough to realize who was coming in his direction.
"Shit"- he mumbled and started running. As a response and ran too. Hallway after hallway, level after level, it's like the man knew every secret pass in this place. Jin and I eventually separated but I lost him. I ran my fingers through my hair and give out a big sigh in just pray Jin catched this guy. If he doesn't catch, we're screwed.
I didn't give up though. I kept trying to find him. After 10 minutes, I opened the door on the mans bathroom in the second floor and I only saw an open window providing me a slight breeze and Jins back.
"The dude jumped?!"- I was out of breath. I moved to look out of that window. Jin didn't say a word, he was bluntly staring at the window not moving.... I couldn't get through if either he was angry, disappointed, frustrated or..sad?...it was the first time I've ever seen this face on him...
"Jin?!"- I called him in frustration because he wasn't answering me.
"Let's go..."- he said turning his back on me and left for me to follow him
"What happened!?"- I tried having an explanation but he wouldn't bother to answer me.
We got home, didn't even eat, and Jin went straight to his room shutting the door. He is really mad we didn't catch this guy...

The previous description of the MC being a bit of a ladies' lady has been scrapped, since the MC basically gave me an 'F you' and went and did her own thing.

Author's Thoughts: What is litRPG (From wikipedia) - LitRPG, short for Literary Role Playing Game, is a literary genre combining the conventions of MMORPGs with science-fiction fantasy novels.[1] LitRPG is a literary genre where games or game-like challenges form an essential part of the story. A LitRPG work simultaneously narrates the story of characters inside and outside of the game-world. At least some of the characters in a LitRPG novel therefore understand that they are playing a game: they are 'meta-aware'. So, while Tolkien's Lord of the Rings is a fantasy novel, a book about people creating avatars and interacting in a Lord of the Rings MMORPG would be a LitRPG novel. Why do I read them? You know, I am not too sure. I love MMOs. I played them, quit them, joined up and repeated the cycle. They are fun! They are a massive waste of time but so are most games. Do I want to read about someone else playing them? Sort of?The advent of VR and the possibility of VR someday becoming so immersive that you can't tell them from reality sets the imagination on fire. What if this could be life? But most stories fall short. At the end of the day the protagonist hangs up his VR helmet and goes to have dinner with his mom and dad or other family and it becomes meaningless. It's like the story that ends because the main character woke up and nothing you read matters. There have been some books that explore the concept of the intersection of reality and total immersion VR. Enders Game is a classic. There were a few others that escape me but they exist, however, the cross between the game and reality is weak.So what if the game was real? The technology needed for total immersion VR is so advanced that by the time we reach that goal technology should have naturally evolved to include several items. You must have direct neural input. You simply can't have a total immersion (all senses and perfect presence) experience without this basic prerequisite. If you have direct neural access, you can probably do neat things like feed knowledge and skills directly to that person. You can undoubtedly do many horrible things as well. Muscles are controlled by the brain. If you control the brain why would you let the body just sit there and rot? A person that sits unmoving for 24 hours a day will have their body whither away just like a coma patient. However, if you control the brain you could control the muscles. On a basic level, this would be isometric impulses, working muscle group against muscle group to avoid atrophy. Taken to its logical conclusion you would be able to gain muscle mass and program muscle memory. The flip side is that you could remote control their body... but let's not go there. So what would people do if it were real? Well, they would probably limit and regulate it since the drawbacks are very obvious. Even if you look at the basic aspects of this you can see some negative possibilities. Look at the Sword Art Online anime. Personally, I think they missed the boat by putting a bomb in the VR helmet. Do you really need a bomb when you have direct access to the brain? So what kind of events would you need to have a situation where the obvious drawbacks haven't been explored? Maybe a society where the advancement of technology has so far outstripped the explorations of its applications that ignorance was truly bliss? Okay, so I had to put in an alien invasion to kickstart the premise, but that was just one of the possibilities.
