《Right On The Money Honey - Michael Hardy》TWENTY ONE

Michael is on another tour with Morgan.
The last one he was on was when Mikey was two. He's five now.
Liz has her hands full with two kids but Haley has been amazing. She's got a couple on the way so this is great practice.
"They're at the Bridgestone Arena tonight. I got some tickets and passes from Cliff so we can surprise them." Liz says, packing up a baby bag with anything her children might need.
"I can't wait." Haley grins. "I'll get 'em kids buckled up." She takes Mikey's hand while Kennedy is popped on her hip then heads out to her newly purchased 1985 Toyota 4-Runner. Her Land Cruiser wasn't safe for her kids but she still has it; that damn thing is way too important to her to get rid of.
Liz smiles to herself as she pockets the tickets and slings her purse over her shoulder then she's heading out the door.
"Can't wait to see our husbands!" Haley grins, buckling up.
"Baby daddies." Liz says, backing down the gravel drive. "Twenty minutes then we'll see 'em!" Liz throws some Alan Jackson on as they fly down I-65.

The guys have no idea their families are in the same building as them. They're both preoccupied with warming up and getting ready. Liz and Haley are both walking in with a child's hand in theirs.
"Who's that girl talkin' to Cliff?" Haley asks, looking at a pretty, tall brunette.
"Oh my god." Liz grins. "Caleigh!" She looks up, confused at first but her face splits into a grin.
"Liz!" She wraps the slightly shorter woman in a tight hug, laughing. "And the kids!"
"Cal, this is Haley. Hales, this is Caleigh." The two immediately hit it off and Liz smiles, looking down at her children. "What're you doin' here?"
"Cliff invited me." She admits, smiling over at him. "We reconnected and been together every since."
"Awe, that's great."Liz runs her hand over the top of her oldest's head. "Thanks for doin' this for us, Cliff."
"Yeah, no problem. It'll be nice for the guys to stop their bellyachin' 'bout missin' they're wives." He jokes. "Show starts soon. I gotta help set up sound." Cliff leans over and kisses Caleigh before heading to the back of the building for sound check.
+++
Liz and Haley are impatiently waiting for the show to start. Cliff propped the side door open and told them to wait outside so they aren't seen.
"I'm so bored." Haley sighs, Kennedy in her lap.
"Show's starting." Liz says, peeking into the venue. "Michael's on first."
Cliff nods Liz and her kids in, slipping headphones over their little ears.
Elizabeth has Kennedy on her hip and Mikey's hand in hers as they walk to the side of the stage, a smile growing on her face.

"This next one is one all y'all probably know. It's an older song." Michael says, snapping the mic back into the stand. "I wrote this for my wife. I wish she was here with-" His hand jerks from the stand to the monitors in his ears and he immediately looks off to the wings. He feels tears in his eyes when they land on his wife and kids.
Liz nudges her son and he takes off running to his dad. Michael picks him up, holding his hand out for his two favorite girls to join them. She reaches up and brushes away a tear slipping down her husband's face then laughs.
His family is here with him.
He can't believe it.
When Liz and the kids are back in the wing, Michael cannot keep his eyes away from them. His wife gets more and more beautiful every time he sees her and tonight she's breathtaking. He fell in love with his family all over again and he's totally fine with that.
Liz gets her kids dancing with her as their daddy performs. Michael can't keep tears from forming. He missed them so much.
This moment springs his memory back to when they were dating and would dance in the kitchen to whatever was playing on the radio. He saw the way her face lit up and made himself a promise that they would always do that until they're six foot deep.
His set zips by and soon he's with them again.
Michael practically tackles Liz in a hug, his arms tight around her as he holds her close. He laughs as he pulls away. "I missed you." He says before he kisses her hard, one hand on the back of her head and the other against her back.
"Get a room!" Morgan shouts from out of no where. "Lizzie!"
"Morgan!" She grins back, giving him a friendly hug.
"Save some for me!" Haley says in a soft voice behind Morgan.
He turns and bear hugs his wife. He pulls away and slides a hand to the growing infants inside her.
Liz hands her daughter to Michael to grab Mikey before he runs back out on stage. "We missed you- Mikey!" She shouts, chasing after her oldest. She catches up to him before he has the chance to do something mischievous- his Uncle Morgan definitely taught him that- with an arm around his middle.
Mikey giggles as they head back to Michael. "You got your hands full?"
Liz shoots him a look that has him biting back a smirk. "When're you home?"
"Not soon enough." He responds, looking at his daughter who is a spitting image of Liz. "I'm not entirely sure. I think this week or next."
"Well, you know where we'll be." She sighs, her tired eyes meeting his tired eyes and they laugh. "You're killin' it, baby."

"You are too. I mean, you're definitely workin' harder than-" Liz cuts him off with a soft kiss.
He blushes.
"Still got it." She teases.
Michael takes her hand and leads her to a spot in the venue where they can talk while Morgan is performing.

When Morgan and Haley sneak off to the dressing room, the stop in their tracks. Liz and Michael are asleep together while their kids are curled up between them.
Haley awes, tears springing to her eyes at the sight. "They're too cute, oh my god."
Since having kids, Liz has become more and more of a light sleeper and it pisses her off. She just wants to sleep but something as simple as a sneeze wakes her up.
Liz lifts her head and looks around. "What- What time is it?"
"Almost midnight." Morgan whispers back.
Michael groans as he wakes up, his arm resting behind his head. "What the hell is all that noise?"
"Mornin' Sleepin' Beauty." He grins. "The earth says hello."
"Shut up." Michael laughs back, sitting up.
"We gotta get goin'." Liz yawns. "Sorry."
Michael sighs. This is the hard part. "We'll walk y'all out." Morgan nods, picking up the bag she brought while she picks her daughter up and Micheal picks Mikey up.
They get the kids buckled up then say their goodbyes to their wives.
On the ride home, Liz keeps her hand around Haley's, knowing how difficult this is for her. She lived it. Being pregnant and away from you significant other is incredibly hard.
"You stayin' over again?" Liz asks, parking in her spot.
"If that's alright."
"Of course it is. I just needed to know so I can make you breakfast." She smiles. "C'mon, it's late."
They get the kids tucked in and Haley's turns in leaving Liz alone in the living room. She misses her husband so much that it hurts. She feels a few tears slip down her cheeks and she quickly wipes them away.
It's two more weeks.
She's handled twelve already so what's two more?
+++
Liz has music playing while she's cooking up some lunch for her and her babies. She's got Kennedy on her hip and Mikey playing with some toys around her feet.
"Mikey, who is this?" She asks when a familiar song comes on.
He squeals in response which didn't answer her question. "Daddy!" His voice is heard a few rooms away and she furrows her brows. Liz readjusts her daughter as the two follow his little giggles.
"Oh my god!" Liz laughs when she sees her husband. "Wait- why're you home so early?"
"Morgan had to go to the hospital with Haley." Michael responds.
"What!? Is she okay!?"
"She's havin' the twins."
"She's a month early! Why didn't anyone tell me!?"
"Babe, calm down." Michael says, taking her hand. "He's with her and her brothers and Momma now."
"Good. If she was alone, I'd kick your ass for not tellin' me." She mumbles. "You hungry? You gotta be hungry."
They get seated at the table and Liz gets the meals prepared and served.
"I dunno how the other guys do it. It sucks bein' on tour when you got a family at home." He mumbles around a mouthful of lunch. "I missed y'all so much, I coulda cried."
Liz laughs, cutting up her daughters food. Her little hands grab at the cut up hot dog chunks and clumsily puts almost her whole hand in her mouth.
"You goin' soft on me?"
"You and I both know that won't ever happen." He winks back, smirking at the blush on her cheeks. "We could put the kids to bed early tonight."
She laughs. "We don't need a third kid."
"I dunno. Full house? Three kids? Sounds kinda nice."
"You're not the one birthin' it." She shoots back, wiping Kennedy's chubby baby face off with a napkin.
"C'mon." He draws out. "We've got two kick ass kids so what's a third, y'know?"
"Babe..." She trails off then chuckles. "we were to have a kid, what would you want?"
"Another boy. Name him Garrett?"
"Garrett? Nah." She shakes her head. "Taylor?"
"For a boy?"
"Yeah. I mean, Morgan is both a boy and girl name so why not take a stab in the dark with Taylor?"
"Do you know any dudes named Taylor?"
"Taylor Kinney." She says after a second of hesitation.
"Are you bullshittin' me?"
"No. He plays Craig somethin' in Shameless. What about if it was a girl?"
"Hmm." He watches her stand and take the dishes to the sink. "Daniella."
"That's pretty."
After their quick meal, Michael and Liz are putting their children to bed a little later than they expected.
"A third kid, huh?" Liz asks, stripping off the Hawaiian shirt she stole from her husband to pull on his Koe Wetzel shirt. "Think we can handle three?"
"For sure." Michael responds without hesitation. "And if we have a third, I'll be home way more often."
Her face falls. "I- I can't ask you to-"
His hands snake to her hips. "I want to. I want to be here for my wife and kids."
She smiles shyly at his reflection in the mirror above the dresser. She turns and leans back against the dresser, smirking up at him. "The hell are we waitin' for?"
