Morgan is on his way to rock bottom.

He hasn't left the house in weeks, or maybe it's been months, he doesn't know. Michael's been trying to get him out of his bed but it ends in Morgan either yelling at him or kicking him out. He's worried as hell for his best friend but he's kinda getting what he deserves.

"Morgan!" Michael shouts as he elbows the front door closed. "Wallen!"

"Fuck off." He snaps back, hiding under the sheets- Haley's sheets. "Leave me alone."

"Let's go out."

"No." He mumbles.

"Yeah, c'mon, man." Michael yanks the sheets off the bed, cringing at the odor that wafts to his nose. "Holy shit. What died in there?"

"My heart. I'm not goin' anywhere."

"Yeah you are. C'mon, up!" Michael grabs his best friend's arms and pulls him up, grunting to himself as he drags him to the bathroom. "Take a shower." Morgan looks up at him with the darkest, most bloodshot eyes Michael's ever seen on another person. "C'mon, it'll be good for you."

"Fuck off."

"Love ya too, man."

Meanwhile back at the farm, Haley is watching her high school boyfriend toss hay bales into the trailer hitched to a tractor with the sun setting behind him and she's feeling hot. Preston has on a burgundy Carhartt t-shirt that's tight across his sturdy chest and strong arms and it's tucked into those belted, ass hugging Wrangler jeans.

Haley decided to take the night off from working on the farm, letting Preston vibe on his own. She's standing on the porch wearing that damn sundress that always got him going. It's loose and flowy; red with white flowers printed on it, she's matched it with her brown boots and a white wide brimmed hat with her long honey blonde hair in loose waves framing her freckled face- Preston's on fire.

"Here you go, darlin'." She smiles, handing him a glass of ice cold lemonade.

Preston smiles down at her as he takes his sweaty Browning hat off, breathing hard. "Thanks. You look pretty."

"I feel pretty." She says, messing with the skirt of her dress. Preston sets his lemonade down on the trailer then grabs her hand, spinning her around so her dress can fan out. She laughs, letting him pull her close as he starts to sway along to a song on the radio that he brought out with him, his hand holding her smaller one while she holds onto his strong bicep.

Soon, the sun has set. "Guess I'm done for the day." Preston says, picking up his now empty glass. Haley nods and follows him up to the house. "See you later then." He smiles, leaning down to kiss her cheek before he heads to his white 1990 Ford F-150.

Haley's folks are out of town the following morning. Preston came to the house early to finish up loading bales before it starts raining while she's busy making brunch for him.

She makes the mistake of looking out the kitchen window, her cheeks going bright red at the sight of Preston using the bottom of his t-shirt to wipe his face, exposing his fit body; abs and v-lines. She bites her lip, running her hand through her hair before she laughs to herself.

Where does she stand with Morgan?

She's got no fucking clue.

They haven't talked to each other since that night.

"C'mon in and eat, Preston." She shouts from the porch, smiling as she waves him in. He makes his way to the house, kicking his dirty work boots off by the door before he steps inside.

"Smells great." He says, washing his hands.

Haley sets a couple plates at the kitchen table, then sits herself next to her guest, keeping her eyes on the meal in front of her so she doesn't get distracted. Preston reaches over and gives her knee a squeeze. She doesn't do anything so he goes a little higher.

Suddenly, she reaches over and grabs the back of his neck, kissing him hotly. He kisses her back, pulling her to sit on his lap. Preston's hard-working hands slide up under her shirt and roam over her flushed skin, his calloused fingers stopping at her bra clasp.

Haley pulls away, breathing hard. "I- I-" She doesn't know what to say as she runs her hand through her hair. She stands and makes her way to the sink, chewing on the skin around her thumbnail with her other hand resting on her head.

Preston stands and follows her, leaning against the counter with one hand on his hip and the other gripping the edge of the counter. "Listen, I know you're goin' through some shit right now but I missed you." He admits, rubbing the back of his neck. She looks up at him, rolling her lips into her mouth. "I'll go." He turns to the back door to pick up his boots but he's stopped with a hand on his arm.

She pushes him against the counter, her hand returning to the back of his neck as she kisses him hard. Preston's hands go to her hair then slide down to her hips. She grabs his hand and pulls him up the creaky stairs to her bedroom where they have intense sex.

Haley parks her Dodge in Michael and Caleigh's driveway and hesitantly gets out, her heart feeling incredibly heavy. She takes a deep breath as she hits the doorbell, looking down at her soaked boots, her hair starting to stick to her face as it's pouring rain.

"Haley?" Michael asks, immediately waving her inside. Caleigh grabs a towel from the bathroom and wraps it around her shoulders. "What- what's up? What're you doin' here?"

"I don't know." She shivers.

"Well, where were you?" Caleigh asks, rubbing her shoulders over the towel.

"Lynchburg. I- I wanted to clear my head after what happened and I just stayed longer than I planned." Michael hands her a cup of coffee, sitting next to her at the table. "It was good for me to just disconnect."

"What brings you back?" Caleigh asks softly, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. "Everything okay?"

"I think I missed Morgan." She admits, wiping her face with the corner of the towel. "I don't know." She gives Michael a look, silently asking him to leave the room so she can talk to her best friend alone.

He understands and heads to the den.

"I hooked up with my ex-boyfuriend."

"Matt!?"

"No! No, Preston." Haley sighs as she looks down at her hands. "I don't even know why."

"How do you feel about it?"

"I'll always love Preston; he was my first, y'know, everything. He's special to me." Haley sniffles. "But, y'know..." She looks up at her with tired eyes. "How's Morgan?"

"Bout the same as you."

Haley chuckles slightly, taking in a deep breath. "You mind if I crash here for the night?"

"Stay as long as you need, okay?" She says. "C'mon, take a shower and get some sleep." Haley nods, heading upstairs to the bathroom to clean herself up and relax.

Haley returns to the bar to work open to close, hoping to start saving up money to get a place of her own instead of squatting with Michael and Caleigh.

Or she could just finally go back home and return to the farm.

The night is a blur as she serves drinks to faceless people that she'll probably never see again. She doesn't mind flirting a little more to help up her tips; it always works. She also threw on a tight tank top with tight jeans; also helps up her tips.

She sighs as she dries a glass, sliding it back on the shelf. When she turns back to the bar, her heart drops. "I thought you quit." Are the first words out of Morgan's mouth.

"Just took some time off." She returns, arching a brow at him. "What're you doing here?"

"It's a bar and I'm thirsty." He sits at the counter. "And I'm sorry."

She purses her lips as she sets his drink on a coaster in front of him. "Four bucks."

"Come home." He practically begs, his usually bright blue eyes now full of sadness and loneliness. "Please."

"Four bucks, Morgan." She repeats, they make intense eye contact as he swallows down his drink.

He stands and snags his wallet out of his back pocket and slaps a twenty dollar bill on the counter. "Keep the change." He spits.

"No thanks."

"Believe me, you need it more than I do." He says as he stomps to the door, letting it slam shut behind him.

Why the fuck is he being an ass?

He caused this problem.

She forces back tears as she pockets the sixteen dollars, plastering a fake smile on her face as she continues serving drinks with those words Morgan said to her ping-ponging around in her mind.

Believe me, you need it more than I do.
