The fear of being watched
Killua awoke with a sudden jolt of his body. The moment he sat up pain spread through out his body and he muffled a scream into his hand. He noticed the dry tears on his cheeks and the lost look on his face twisted into something more wistful at the memory of that dream. He shook his head and tightly closed his eyes but when he looked up and opened them, there stood his oldest brother, Illumi. Hysteria ran through his head like an angry fire running through a forest. The lights in the hallway flickered behind the figure of his relative and that's the only way he could tell it was morning. Gon would be at the hospital very soon and a feeling of dread and dismay hit him. The moment he reached for his phone he noticed that Gon was already standing in the doorway, a horrified but concerned look on his face.
Illumi turned his head to the side to look at Gon, then looked back at his younger brother. "Perfect timing, right Killu?" He spoke, his voice nerve-wracking. Killua couldn't answer, he was frozen with discomposure. He opened his mouth to speak but nothing came out. Within seconds Illumi stepped towards his young and beloved brother who was helpless to his control. "That's too bad, Killu. You couldn't stop your dream from happening, you know." Panic washed over Gon as he watched his best friend become a victim to his own brother, a small, golden coloured needle being inserted into his head. The moment the needle was added to his silver-haired best friend, the look on his face changed. His normally pure blue eyes changed to a dangerous and cruel colour of blue. His body went stiff and he glared over at his best friend with a look of destruction. It was a truly horrifying scene to watch unfold. "Now, Killu..." Illumi paused, leaning down to his brother and cupping his cheeks with his hands lightly. "Kill."

The moment that single word came from Illumi's lips, Killua sprung from the hospital bed, the wires connected to him pulling away from his skin. He wasn't in any condition to kill but whatever Illumi did, enhanced his strength by a great deal. The feeble teen stood from where he landed, his fingernails turning into claws within a split second. Gon didn't panic, in fact he stood still. He knew he'd be able to get to Killua himself and if he couldn't, he'd die trying. "Killua, you aren't a murderer. I know you don't want to kill anyone. I'm your best friend and I know you would never hurt me intentionally." The carmel-eyed boy spoke softly without taking a single step forward. The sickly boy paused for a moment, a slightly hesitant look crossing his face.
"Killu, you're going to kill him, right?" Spoke the long-haired male from across the room. Within seconds Killua had launched himself at Gon and he barely had any time to get past his best friend who was now murder-stricken.
"Killua, I know you're in there. Don't listen to your brother, you aren't a murderer." Gon spoke, a small amount of blood seeping through his coat from the minuscule cut on his shoulder. "Please Killua, you're my best friend." He kept trying and trying and with each word spoken, Killua's face slowly tangled into a look of sorrow and regret. He looked confused and he looked lost as if he didn't know which way to go. He was stuck between his brother and his best friend. He looked as if he didn't know what to do and he was clearly having trouble holding himself back. A pale hand shakily reached towards the needle that was implanted in the back of his head but the rather tall, black-haired male prevented him, lightly grabbing his hand and guiding it towards Gon.

"You aren't listening to me, Killu. You must kill him."
Killua shook his head, opening his mouth to say something but automatically he closed his mouth. "Kill him, now." Illumi interrupted, staring lifelessly down at his young brother. The expression on the boy's face quickly turned from a pure looking one to a murderous looking one once again. It was like he was fighting with himself and that's exactly what was going on inside his mind. His cerulean eyes kept flashing between deadly and gentle.
"Killua, please. I know you don't want to hurt me. This isn't you!" Gon announced, his voice getting stronger with each second. "You're my best friend! You aren't a murderer, don't listen to him!" And with those few words, Killua's facial expression completely changed from lethal to something more melancholy and affable. He looked as if he was in a state of strain from standing for so long in the condition he was in but he was able to tear the needle from the back of his head, blood staining his elegant silver hair. Gon shot Illumi a quick glare before hurrying towards Killua who looked as if he were about to collapse on the tile. The cuts and bite-marks that still hadn't healed had split open and blood started to pool onto the ground. Just then a young nurse who looked relatively new was rushing down the hallway but when she noticed blood spill she was active to assist them. The moment the nurse abetted both Gon and Killua, Illumi was already absent from the room.
That night Gon had stayed by Killua's side for as long as he could. He refused to leave the room and he wouldn't do anything if he wasn't by his best friend's side.
