A shield covers my heart

To protect it from harm.

Earbuds wrap around my ears

So there is always background music.

Starfish decorate my ears

Because starfish never lie.

A pen rests on my arm

So I am ready for anything.

A plate sits on my right hand

To remind me to eat,

While a pillow sits on my left

To remind me to sleep.

Turtles walk on my feet

To make sure I move.

Snakes wrap around my stomach

To show me I am not fat.

Butterflies fly on my hips

To stop me from doing things I shouldn't.

Fairies fly around my legs

To remind me there's always a place at home for me.

I may get judged on my tattoo covered skin,

But they're not just tattoos to me.
