Cole and I were walking around town the next day. We spent the whole day yesterday inside the house, so we decided to go out and do something. Cole was inside the ice cream shop to use their restroom. I stayed outside waiting for him. In front of the ice cream shop was an animal shelter. This peeked my interest because I've never had a pet.

I found myself walking into the animal shelter. The bell rings from above and an old lady looks up from the counter. She smiles widely at me.

"Hello!! How may I help you?" She asks me

"I uhm-" I was cut off by the door ringing again.

I turn around to see Cole looking at me with relief in his eyes. He hugs me tightly and sighs.

"You scared me!!! I came back outside to see you were missing. I thought something bad hapoened to you! Don't ever go missing again holy crap." He says

"Sorry" I smile sheepishly

"Why are you in here anyway?"he asks curiously

"I just wanna look at the animals." I shrug

"Well if that's what you wanted to do then come with me sweetie!" The old lady smiles widely at me. I look at Cole, silently asking permission if I can. He chuckles and nods. I smile widely and hug him before following the old lady.

She lead me to a room full of animals. There were cats, dogs, rabbits, birds and so much more. I was overwhelmed. I so badly wanted to pet the little kitten that was looking at me with bright blue eyes.

"You can pet them you know..." the old lady looks at me amused. She didn't have to tell me twice.

I immediately pet the little kitten and awwed when it purred.

We walked around more and I got to pet so many puppies. They were all so adorable. Not just them but literally every animal here is adorable.

While I was petting a golden retriever, I noticed a husky. This husky didn't look like all the others. Instead of the normal black and white or brown and white fur, this husky had a blue-grey and white kind of fur. It was so pretty. I slowly walked closer to it. It immediately noticed me approaching and growled, making me stop in my tracks.

"He's been here for so long now. People don't want him because he's rude or because he's too old and big. He was dropped off here by some guy. He said that it was his neighbors dog. Apparently the dog is very special to his neighbors child. When the child died, his neighbors threw away anything connected to the child. They beat up the dog because it reminded them so much of the child. Once they were finished they tossed the dog outside and the man took him here." The old lady, whose name is actually Sam, explained

"Poor guy has trust issues now." Sam says

I look at the dog once more and saw it was standing tall. It tried to look fierce and intimidating. I slowly walked towards it. The dog growled loudly but I kept walking. I was a few feet away from the dog when I kneeled down in front of it. I put my hands up and then behind my back. I gave the dog a big smile, hoping it understood that I wasn't gonna hurt it. The dog cocked his head at me but I just smiled. He curiously came closer and my smile widen if it was even possible. I took my hands from behind my back and set it in front of me. The dog looked at me and then my hand. He hesitantly sniffed my hand. I slowly moved my hand from his nose to between his ears. I scratched the back of his ears and his tail starts moving up and down. I chuckled and remove my hand.

I start walking back to Sam when I felt something poke my leg. The husky was by my leg and looking up at me. I knelt down and continued petting him. He rolled over to his tummy and enjoyed as I scratched his belly.

"I'm taking you like this dog?" Cole suddenly asks from behind me.

The dog jumps up and growls at Cole. I frown and put my hand on the dog, making it turn to me. I hugged Cole's arm.

"Friend" I said with a thumbs up.

The dog slowly made it's way to Cole. I took Cole's hand and held it out for the dog to smell it. Cole started petting the dog too and soon they bece best friends too.

"You know this dog somehow reminds me of us." I say

"What do you mean?" Cole asks

"Shit happened to us in the past and now we have trust issues. We keep to ourselves. But then we met someone who we can trust for some reason.

Just like this husky.

"Yeah...I guess you're right. The fur is also like your eyes..."Cole says

We continue playing with the husky. I was so caught up with playing with it that I didn't realize Cole stood up to leave. He came back though and told me that we have to go. I nod sadly and pet the dog whispering a soft bye. I walk to the entrance and Cole looks at me amused. I give him a questioning look and he points downards. The husky had been following me.

"He likes me " I laugh

Cole squats down and rubs his head and tells him something. He then gets up and loudly say Sit. The husky does as he says and I smile widely at the dog. Cole takes my hand and over to the counter.

"Sign here." He says as he points to where I should sign

"Uhmm why?" I ask

"Just do it Lexi." He says

"Trust me."

I raise my eyebrows at him but do as he says anyways. He smiles happily and signs too. Sam soon comes out with the husky. She happily hands Cole a bag of dog food, a collar, a leash and the piece of paaper we just signed. The dog comes running towards me and happily barks as he reaches me.

"Cole...what the hell did you just do." I ask him. All he does is smile and hand me the paper. I scan the paper and at the bottom I finally see it.

This azurian husky has officially been adopted by

Cole Reynolds and Alexandria Brians

I calmly fold the paper and put it in my pocket. I then jump on Cole and attack him in a hug. He laughs and puts the stuff down. He hugs me back and even lifts me up.

"Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you." I squeal

"Well I mean I love the dog and you love the dog. It only made sense." He says

"Cole you're the best person ever. Omg. Thank you so much."

I don't know where the sudden boost of confidence came from but I kissed both of Cole's cheeks. I hopped out of his arms and hugged the husky.

I turned around to see Cole with a huge smile on his face. He hugs me one last time before saying he has to take the stuff to the car. I nod and tell him I'll follow soon.

"Sam thank you for letting me look at all these amazing animals" I say

"Oh don't thank me. I'm happy to let anyone come look." She smiles

"I've been dying to say this earlier since he came in here but you two are such an adorable couple." She gushes. I look at her with wide eyes and shake my head

"No no no we're not a couple. He...he's...seeing someone" Does a fuck toy count as "seeing someone"

"If that's the case then he's just confused. He's confused with his feeligs. But I can tell you both like each other." Sam smiles

I don't say anything and just smile back. I say goodbye to her and walk out with the husky following me. Cole's car comes to view and I open the back seat to let the dog in. I then get into the passenger seat.

"Soooo what should we name him?" I ask Cole

"Hmmmmmm Colex?" He suggests. I laugh loudly when i figure out what he was trying to do.

"The dog's name will be a combination of our name?" I laugh

"Yup!! Cause it's our dog" He says

"Well then if that's the case then it should be Cola"

We both burst laughing. Cole had to pull over because hebwas laughing so hard. It took us a while to calm down.

"I think that's a great name. Cola." He chuckles

"Cola it is then."

I turn in my seat and pet our new dog. The dog that was named after Cole and I's ship name. I turned back around and saw that Cole had brought me to a park.

The rest of the day was spent playing with Cola and hanging out in the park. I'm so glad we got to go outside.
