《Struggles ✔》Chapter 25

Cole's POV
I woke up to a pounding headache. The curtains of my window were wide open, making the sun light fill the room and hurt my eyes. I groaned and got up.
I made my way downstairs and plopped myself down on the chair by the counter. A small gasp makes me look up.
Lexi is standing there shocked and in a huge baggy sweater and running shorts. Her hair was tied into a high ponytail and she was practically dripping wotth sweat.
"Shit shit shit. You're up early. Go lie down on the couch and I'll bring you some aspirin and water." She instructs
I don't object and slowly make my way to the couch. The more I move the more my head hurts. Surprisingly though it doesn't hurt as much as I expected it to be. I remember the drink Lex made us was really fucking strong and I'm pretty sure that wasn't the only drink I had. I expected me to feel like dying right now but instead I just have a pounding headache. It's painful but it doesn't wanna make me kill myself.
Lex rushes over to me and hands me some aspirin and water. I quickly drink it and lay back down.
"How's your head?" She asks
"Surprisingly not as bad as I expected it to be. It's not the worst hangover ever and that's what's weird" I say
"I knew it." She chuckles. I look at her with a raised eyebrow
"You asked for your third shot of the 7 headed dragon but since I expected you'd have the worst hangover known to man kind I gave you water instead. I asked if you want more and you said yes so I kept refilling your drink with water." She says

"Lexi. You are literally the best person ever." I say seriously
"Rest. I'll make you breakfast" she chuckles
Even if I had a headache and it hurt to think and observe, I noticed how Lexi said "you" and not "us". I gave her a pointed look and she sighed
"I'm not hungry." She says
"Lexi." The tone in my voice made it clear that there we no longer any room for arguments.
She sighed and nodded.
"Drink your medicine too." I remind her
"I already did." She says. I nod and she goes to the kitchen.
After a few minutes, Lexi comes out with two bowls of cereal in her hands. She lays one down on the coffee table in front of me. I sit up and move a bit to give her some room to sit down. We eat in a comfortable silence with the only sound being our spoons clashing with the bowl and the TV playing a random movie. Suddenly our phones both ring at the same time. We both get up to take the call. I checked the caller I.D. to see it was Chase
"DUDE HOLY FUCK I'M SO SCREWED" he yelled as soon as I picked up
"Ow fuck. Keep it down I still have a hangover" I hiss at him. However he seemed to ignore what I have just said for he continues to yell
"DUDE!!! Calm the fuck down and speak properly." I yell at him
I hear him take deep breaths.
"I slept with Jess."
"DUDE HOLY FUCK YOU'RE SO SCREWED" I yell at him
"YOU THINK I DONT KNOW THAT?!?! ALEXA IS GONNA KILL ME. I HAD A ONE NIGHT STAND WITH HER BEST FRIEND AND IM NOT 100% SURE IF WE USED PROTECTION" he yells. I pushed aside the pain of the headache and focused on my best friend.

"DUDE LEXI IS GONNA KILL YOU. YOU'RE A DEAD MAN." I yell back
"SHIIIITTTTT. WHAT DO I DO?!?!?"
After a lot of deep breaths we calmed down. He told me he would talk to me later when our headaches have both subsided completely. I walked back to the couch to see Lexi finishing up her cereal.
"Chase?"
"Yup." I sigh. I ruffle my hair and sit next to her
"He fucked Jess." She states
"How'd you know?" I look at her with wide eyes
"She called me. He's lucky that she's on the meds." Lex says
"Oh thank god." I sigh in relief
"I always knew he liked her." She smiles a little to herself
"Everybody knows except themselves" I laugh
"I just...a part of me doesn't trust Chase..." she sighs
"Why not?? Chase is a great guy. You know that! You're one of his best friends." I say
"It's just...Chase is like you and Robin. He's a player, a fuck boy, a bad boy, a flirt and the list goes on. I don't want him to break Jess' heart. I know what it feels like and it's not a good feeling." She laughs a humorless laugh
"I don't want Jess to experience going through that. It sucks."
"Chase USED to be like me and Robin. He's changed for the better. They might be the one for each other. They might be each other's true love. But they won't know unless they take a chance. Let them give each other a chance. I think they're perfect for each other." I say
She sighs and runs a hand through her hair.
"Yeah. You're right." She says
"Cuddle?"
She laughs and puts her bowl down. I scoop her in my arms and she cuddles into me. We never paid attention to the TV. We just laid there. We talked and laughed about many things. I had her secure in my arms and not once did she try to leave.
It was the best remedy for a hangover.
