《Marvel One-Shots》The Death of A Spider

Tony shivered as he walked down to the park that was once filled with the laughter of children and families. Now all that remained were the lingering people who were lost on what to do. Tony was one of those people.
3 years ago, Thanos did the inevitable. He had all the infinity stones and snapped away half of the universe thinking it was for the better. Tony had watched Peter, someone who was beginning to be a son to him, disappear right before his eyes. He never forgot that moment. The moment he lost someone who got close to him, to person who gave him a reason to protect. Peter was the reason Tony was who he is today.
He felt the tears prick his eyes as he walked through the stone columns now placed all around the park. The columns had the names of those of had dusted away, and Tony watched and family, friends, and lovers still sobbed over the event.
When the Avengers first told what had happened there was anger.
'You were supposed to protect us!'
'World's greatest hero's?! What a joke'
'You're saying that I won't get my kids back?!'
'What's going to happen to those people!'
Those words followed the Avengers for a long time, but the citizens who blamed them soon came back in apology. They knew that they were angry with despair, and that the Avengers had lost some of their own too.
Tony remembered the night he went to go tell May. He knocked on the door to see May with red puffy eyes and Ned sitting on the couch with a defeated look. "WHERE IS HE?"
Tony stumbled back in fright. May quickly apologized and let him in. The silence was penetrating. Tony was think of the right thing to say when the quietest voice rang out, "he's gone isn't he?"

Tony looked over to see Ned. Tears were running down the teens face. When Tony nodded sadly both May and Ned dropped to their knees as their sobs rang out through the quiet night. He stayed for a while and told the two what had happened. They understood but it was hard for them to come to the fact that Peter was gone. Tony couldn't agree more.
Tony snapped out of his thoughts when he ran into a column. He looked up and saw he had come to his destination. Instead of Peter's name mixed into many, Tony had bought a smaller one with just his name. He had a small spider engraved in the top to symbolize for the kid's heroics for the time he protected Queens. Tony took off the heavy bag that was on his arm. To think that it took him 3 years to come here made him feel guilty.
Tony pulled out the kid's old suit. Peter had disappeared with the iron spider suit but Tony had the kid's other one. He tapped on the small spider causing it to glow and faint blue. Then, the ground beneath Peter's tomb opened with a empty space; one that Tony put in so he could fill it. Fill it with things that would remind him, May, Ned, and MJ that Peter would always be with them and they had his memories to visit.
Tony laid the folded suit out into the box as silent sobs escaped from his throat. He placed a few legos in there, for Ned said those were the ones when Ned dropped the Death Star finding out Peter's identity. MJ had given Tony a few drawings of Peter that she drew throughout the school year, a few teardrops had the pages stained. May had given Tony baby photos and images as Peter grew up.

Tony had laid all these items into the box carefully and then took out a small disc in his pocket. He tapped on the top and smiled as a holographic imagine came out about. He played the video.
"Hey Mr. Stark!"
"Call me Tony, Peter"
"Sorry! Uhh. I was wondering if uhh.."
"What kid?"
"Well last night, after the movie, I saw you were asleep so I was picking up the papers you left on the desk because they looked kinda messy and saw some adoption papers with my name on them for joint custody with May?"
"You were wondering if I wanted joint custody with May for you?
"Well...yeah?"
"Yeah I was. It's okay if you don't want to-!"
Peter had wrapped his arms around Tony it a tight hug. "Yes! 3000 times yes!"
Tony watched as himself and Peter cried happy tears. Tony felt himself sobbing more as the video ended. That was one of the happiest moments that Tony had had in his life. He and Peter were planning on telling Pepper when she came back from her trip and after Peter came back from his field trip but that never happened.
All he had left were those memories.
He felt a hand on his shoulder. "Come on Tony, Morgan's waiting for you."
Tony slid his hand into Morgan's and Pepper did the same. The little family felt so empty without Peter.
Every night Morgan would ask about Peter and every time she would ask 'when am I going to meet my brother?'
Neither Pepper or himself had an answer.
"I don't know sweetie. But if he does, he's going to love you 3000 too."
Morgan never commented on the 'if'
She just didn't understand why her brother didn't come home.
