《Love at First Fight》She's the Last one Ever

(Y/n)'s POV
We all crowd around the box, and immediately I can tell something is wrong by the silence of the gladers, beside that the box is coming up way too early. Many of the boys take quick glances back at me as I push my way towards the front to peer in as they begin opening the box. The first thing that I notice is that it is empty besides the greenie passed out on the floor. Then I realize it's a girl.
I jump in the box before anyone else has the chance "It's a girl," I tell them causing shock to cover many faces. Another girl? Why now? I look at her unmoving I don't even notice her chest rising and falling "I think she might be dead," I say worried as I kneel down beside her. "What's in her hand," Gally asks drawing my attention to the crumpled piece of paper. I untangle it from her grasp "She's the last one ever," I read aloud "what does that mean," I say dumbly knowing exactly what it means.
I was broken out of my thoughts by the sharp gasp erupting from the girl her eyes immediately go to Thomas "Thomas!" is all she gets out before slipping back into unconsciousness. My eyes immediately go to Thomas, maybe Gally had a slight point. I try to push that out of my mind, Thomas is just like the rest of us. I tell myself. "Do you still think I'm over reacting?" Gally asks us eyebrows raised in the typical Gally fashion.
No one has an answer for Gally, but I tried to push the questions of why out of my head. Instead I focus on getting the greenie out of the box "Gally, a little help," I suggest as I struggle to carry the whole of her weight by myself. I was strong, but not strong enough to carry her full dead weight. Not to mention the strain it was putting on my newly amputated finger. Once Gally and I got her in the medjack hut he sighed "do you still think I was being dramatic?" he asks.

"Gally, listen I don't know, but I still don't believe that this is all Thomas's fault." I tell him not wanting to fuel the delusion that Thomas was sent here to destroy us. Gally scoffs frustrated with me "when will you wake up (Y/n), the maze is changing and not for the better," he tells me before walking off. I felt frustrated I hated fighting with Gally, but this wasn't a completely bad thing. I could think of a lot of ways that this situation is good, like how there is another girl finally in the glade, and that there is a dead griever!
I begin to head back over towards the slicers when I'm approached by Minho "(Y/n)!" he calls out shocking me a little, it had been a while since I talked to Minho. "Yeah?" I asks trying to keep my expression neutral "wanna go disect a greiver?" he asks causing my eyes to light up at the idea. "Isn't that against the Glade rules though?" I ask trying to still reason with the glade rules. "Yes, but weren't you the one who said you'd wished you'd killed a griever? This is the next best thing," he reasons with me.
I look over to where Gally went off to the builders, he won't like it, but he's mad at me anyways. "I'm in!" I reply thinking about how we could finally get out of here. We could be out. We can find a home outside of here.
