(Y/n)'s POV

I wake up to the sound of rain and I feel a hand clutching my own. I look down to see Gally resting his head on my leg "(Y/n) you're awake!" Gally shouts quickly getting up and wrapping his strong arms around my frame. I sigh as I gingerly wrap my arms around him as well "how bad is it?" I ask not wanting to look at my finger or lack thereof.

"Heh well it's not pretty, but it's not completely gone you cut down to the knuckle," he says and I finally pick up my hand to look at it. It's hard to tell just how bad it is with the tremendous amount of gaze they have wrapped around it but I can tell that part of my finger is gone. "I'm an idiot," I say almost laughing at my predicament "you're not the first slicer to lose a finger, so don't think you're stupid," he tells me kissing my cheek.

We sit there holding hands silently for a while before Newt comes in, "Minho and Alby still aren't back yet," he says plainly "What?" we ask in unison. I know Minho and he has never been late getting back and I can't help but fear the worst. "What are we going to do?" I ask thinking of Alby and Minho being trapped in the Maze more horrible than anything else. "We can't do anything we just have to wait, you know the rules," Gally tells me furrowing his brow.

We all leave the Medjack hut and head over towards the wall finding shelter with Thomas, Chuck, and a few others while we wait. It's three minutes before close and we all crowd around the Maze entrance as the rain gives us a break. "I see them!" I shout seeing Minho dragging Alby's heavy body towards us. He screams as he struggles to pull Alby along "you have to leave him!" I hear many people shout as Minho continues to struggle.

I know he won't do that if Alby doesn't make it Minho won't make it I thought as I continued to watch helplessly. I wanted to so bad run in and help him, but that was against the rules, what is the point of the rules if we can't protect each other. I hear the doors begin to crank signaling that they're about to close, and I feel more panic run through me and I find myself joining in with the screams to encourage him.

The doors begin to close more and I realize "they're not going to make it," I say in the weakest saddest tone that has ever come out of my mouth. I don't leave and I make eye contact with Minho trying hard to say I'm sorry for not talking for so long. He was my best friend and my boyfriend once, and even though I don't want to be with him, his friendship was extremely valuable to me.

Gally grabs my hand knowing what turmoil I'm facing, and he tries hard to ease this pain. When the wall really starts to get close the Greenie Thomas lets his stupidity get the best of him. He runs in almost letting the wall squish him completely "Thomas no!" Chuck shouts as most of us reach out to grab him and pull him back. It was to late he was in and the walls were closed, Minho, Alby, and Thomas. We had seen to many people die this way and we knew what this meant.

I stayed there for a long time my heart nearly ripping out four people gone. Ben, Minho, Alby, and Thomas they were all gone and I couldn't understand why. Why were we sent here to die?
