《Forbidden》chapter thirty-five

The rest of the morning was spent shopping for some maternity clothes and other necessities for the baby.
The small talk I had with Moustafa ended within those moments, when Guliez came to find me. Even if she insisted that she was just looking at the sea. I knew the moment we had, had been ruined so instead I looked at my friend with a smile and left with her.
Even if I didn't see the world from her point of view, I still loved her for trying to bring Moustafa closer in to our lives again.
The interaction we had almost felt as though it was a mere dream by the way I was avoiding him. Like the plague. Truth be told, there was a piece of me he broke in to pieces that day, and I don't know if I could ever find that piece of me again. As I had said to Guliez, he took that part of me that was slowly starting to blossom and now that it was gone. I couldn't find it again.
" I really think you should have bought some boys clothes as well. Who knows it may be a boy" Guliez spoke as she eyed the light cream suit in front of her. Narrowing her eyes at the details, the woman looked towards me, making me smile and shake my head.
" Guliez, its okay"
" But you've only bought girls stuff. I don't want him wearing pink dresses"
She spoke crossing her arms making me smile and look away from her. Holding the tomatoes in my hands I placed them on the countertop, next to the chopping board which still had the strong smell of mint and coriander on it.
Today I was feeling traditional food, and rather asking for Aylin or Nourie to cook it. I took it upon myself to cook Kofta. Something my grandma had taught me when I was little.
Till this day i can see the radiant smile on her face, and her silk scarf weaved in to her grey hairs. She would laugh wholeheartedly making dimples appear on both side of her cheeks; whilst she looked fondly at me and Roshan.
It had broken her, when our grandad had died. She was still so young and had only had my father at the time. Yet she refused to marry again and raised my father, who one day left her all alone for my mother.

The thought of the memory itself repulsed me as I shook my head and focused back on the tomato I had chopped.
" Guliez can you pass me the mince meat"
" Sure"
Guliez voice came, making my eyebrows shoot up. Whatever happened to Guliez voice, since when did her voice sound so deep.
I thought seeing glass bowl being put in front of me. Looking upwards at the hand I felt my eyes widening seeing grey ones look back at me. A small smile falling across the man's face.
" Moustafa?"
I questioned seeing him nod as he leaned against the counter and held a small pan in front of him. Examining it.
" This is a good pan"
" Since when did you know anything about pans and cooking?"
I questioned completely ignoring the fact that Guliez was nowhere to be seen and Moustafa had somehow ended up in my kitchen, observing Nourie's favourite pan.
" Of course I know about cooking. What, you don't think I can cook?"
He questioned, an amused look falling across his handsome face making me inhale sharply and shake my head. Not believing what he was saying.
" You never helped me at home. In fact you only came to the kitchen when you needed something... which was all the time"
I spoke putting the chopped onions, tomatoes, coriander and a few spices in the bowl and mixing the mince meat with it.
" Or maybe Farya, I was there to see you, seen as you were always in the kitchen"
He spoke and I felt a cold shiver run down my spine at his words. Gulping down my throat, my gaze briefly flickered towards his before I focused on the work at hand.
" Can you pass me the chopped chillies?" I spoke trying to avert my mind off things as I cleaned my hands and slowed dampened it with oil.
" Here, I'll put it in"
Moustafa spoke as he stood behind me. His large figure pressing against mine, before he leaned down and added in the remaining ingredients.
Heat flushed down my cheeks and through my body feeling his large physique moulding on to mine.
" Reminds of home.. the food I mean"
Moustafa spoke clearing his throat making a faint smile come across my lips yet it was gone before anyone could see.
Clearing my throat, I turned around seeing the man move away a little whilst I made my way around the kitchen.

There was an easy silence around us as I prepared for the curry, and kneaded some flour for pitta to make with.
" Farya"
"Mhmm"
I spoke glancing over my shoulder seeing Moustafa stir a spoon in the pan before he looked towards me.
" Have I ever told you how beautiful you are"
He spoke making me looked down. Biting on to my lips in nervousness, I felt the man look at me and then his eyes flicker towards my stomach.
A look of pure adoration came across his face. Taking a step towards me and now barely an inch away, his strong hands cupped cheeks.
" I'd do anything for my Princesses. Anything for my two beautiful girls"
He spoke as he placed a kiss on my forehead, and then the side of my cheeks, making my breathing hitch.
" Moustafa I need to tell you something-"
I started feeling my heart heavy seeing my husband give me breathtaking smile as he placed his finger on to my lips, faltering my words.
" When you give birth, I want to get us a house. Next to the beach how you want it, but somewhere far away from this, from everyone"
He spoke with pain in his words. Shaking his head, he looked towards me, his thumb brushing across my lips making my breathing pick up.
" I'll never let any harm come to you, or our baby. I'll protect you both till my last breath"
He spoke as a moment of silence fell across us and before I knew it. The man I called my husband, leaned towards me. His warm lips barely an inch away from mine.
There was a moment of silence, of hesitancy, of approval and when I felt my eyes blink, in consent I felt the man's lips seal against mine. Taking my breath away.
My knees turned weak and my head dizzy. As if knowing I no longer could hold myself. Moustafa's strong arms snaked around my waist. Holding me tightly, yet never breaking our moment.
Releasing our embrace, I felt his warm lips travel towards my jaw and then down my neck making me groan.
" Mhm stop! Stop someone is at the door"
I murmured feeling Moustafa tense at my words before he groaned a little and moved away from me. Looking across me, and now looking towards the door that was being knocked on furiously. I could see Moustafa's jaw tighten making a faint smile come across my face.
" You find this amusing woman?"
He questioned, making me shake my head and look upwards at him seeing a smirk on his face.
Oh God, I knew that look all too well.
Turning the stove on low heat, the man headed out of the open kitchen and now towards the double doors.
Something in me urged to follow him, and I did as I quickly wiped my hands and walked after Moustafa who was now opening the doors.
It took a moment as the door opened and our eyes were greeted to the light of the setting sun. Out of nowhere, a shadow emerged painting the walls behind me as I looked upwards. Seeing light blonde hair moulding perfectly against the sunlight.
Bright blue eyes stared at me, and then towards Moustafa who too had a curious look on his face.
The stranger before me was tall, nearly Moustafa's size with strong jaw and a slightly crooked nose at the top. As if it had been broken at a ripe age and never fixed.
He had long hair, well, towards his ears making it easy for him to brush it backwards. He wore a black jacket with a white top underneath. Holding a duffel bag in his hands the stranger at our doorstep gave us a confused look followed by a smile.
" Hi! I'm looking for Noursheen"
He spoke making Moustafa take a step forward defensively, towards this man who happened to be looking for Nourie.
" What business do you have with her?"
" Oh sorry, I didn't mean to be rude. My name is Iskendar"
The man spoke as he took a step forward and reached his hand out causing Moustafa to reciprocate his action and shake the man's hand.
" I'm Noursheen's Son"
