Dad, Shane and i were sitting in a car. Rendall was in the trunk.

Suddenly Dad stopped the car and got out. Shane followed him. I stayed in the car. I know he wanted to make things clear with Shane.

Rendall was screaming in the back but his mouth was taped. I turned to him. He had earphones on and music was playing loud.

I hit him in the stomach to shut him up but He began to scream more.

I rolled my eyes. Then Dad and Shane opened the trunk and put a back over Rendall's head.

Then the got back in the car and Dad drove again.

Dad "We gotta start using out knifes more. If there's one walker we use our knifes, we keep things quiet. We need warm clothes for the winter. Maybe we get a break. We gotta thank the cold effects. If it doesn't kill them , it gotta slow them down. The last week last year we had so much snow and ice. My cousin's got stuck on the 85 for 24 hours. Sitting in his car with a birthday cake for his girlfriend Georgia Tech. He just sat there and eat the cake and listend to the lord of the rings book tape. We would get lucky if we get the same winter as last your. By December, it's a different world. safer. Maybe we find us some snow-mobils to make some rounds. "

Shane"That sounds good"

He wasn't listening at all.

I looked out of the window. There was a walker walking through the field.

Dad parked in front of a police station..

We got out of the car and walked to the fence.

Me "good place"

Dad "We will leave the boy here. With some supplies. "

I whistled. They looked alarmed to me. I nodded to a walker on the other side of the fence.

Shane pointed with a gun at it.

Dad raised his hand "Wait. Like i said.."

Dad cut in his finger with a knife and put a bit blood on the fence. The walker walked in our direction. It clutched on the fence. Wanted to eat us.

Dad then rammed the knife in it's head "Gun's quick and easy but there are other ways to do this. One more. Your turn"

He nodded to another walker who came to us. Shane took his shotgun out and dad opened the gate. I took my sword out and we walked in. Dad held his gun out. Shane walked into a school bus and checked it.

Then when everything was clear Shane drove the car inside.

I walked to is and opened the trunk. Shane and Dad took Rendall out and carried him to the middle of the parking lot. I took the bag off his head and the earphones out. Shane riped the tape off.

Rendall "what the hell is this?"

I turned around and started to walk away. Shane and Dad followed me.

Rendall yelled after us "i owe you, guys. I can help protect what you got! why would you safe my life and then just leave me here?! One guy...one guy can't make it alone. That's why i was with those dudes..i was alone. "

Dad stopped and threw a knifes in front Rendall's knees at the ground.

Then we turned around.

Rendall "I went to school with Maggie for gods sake!"

I stopped and turned around.

Rendall "i went to church. i was on the bench in baseball"

We started walked to him.

Dad "You went to school with Maggie?"

Shane "You went to school with Meg?"

Me "Just answer the damn question"

Shane "Did you go to school with Maggie?"

Rendall "i-i- she didn't know me. didn't even know i existed. I mean i knew her. I knew her dad. There is no way i would do anything to hurt her or her family"

Shane breathed out annoyed "jesus"

Rendall "or you or your people! i'm not like the guys i was with!"

I said to Dad "We won't be alone for long if he keeps yelling"

Shane "he knows where the farm is, Rick. Where we are..he knows. Let's say he finds his way back to his people. "

Shane took his gun our and pointed it at Rendall. Dad pushed Shane away but he hit the trigger.

Shane shot but the bullet missed Rendall.

Dad "not now! not now! "

I put my foot over the gun.

Shane leaned against a police car "Well, when, Rick? when?!"

Dad "when we had the chance to think about it"

I took the gun and put it behind in my pants.

Rendall begged"don't let him kill me. Please, don't"

Dad "shut up! We're going back. It's a men's life. I need a night to think it through"

Shane "you gonna bring this piece of garbage..he shot at you, Rick. We gonna bring him back to were Lori sleeps?! To where Carl and Kendall sleep?!"

Me "We lock him into the barn."

Shane shook his head "No"

Dad "i'm taking this night. "

Shane shook his head "oh no you are not, Rick. You will struggle with it. Man, it ain't hard, man. The hard choices are those who keep us alive. It's always the same with you."

Shane stood up and i got in between them.

Me "knock it off!! if you don't keep your fucking voices low then we got a problem. Dad, take the damn night .Shane, you have no idea what you are talking about"

They looked at me with wide eyes.

Me "World has gone to shit. There are may be no rules out there anymore but if we kill him here and now then what makes us better then those walkers! hm? Let's bring him back to the farm, lock him in the barn and then ALL of us are going to make this decision, alright?"

Shane's jaw dropped and he looked pissed off "and you think you can keep them safe?"

Me "Better then you"

I know he meant Dad but hey..

Then he lost it.

He raised his hand at me but Dad blocked him and pushed him against the car.

Dad "don't you dare!"

Then Shane hit im with his head in Dad's face and Dad fell down. Shane grabbed Dad's gun but Dad grabbed Shane and hit him over and over in his face. They keep fighting.

Me "shit!"

I looked around looking for walkers. I saw Rendall rolling to the knife.

Suddenly i saw Shane pointing with the gun at Rendall. Dad threw himself at Shane.

Suddenly i saw a walker coming out of the building.

I yelled "walkers!"

The walker threw himself at Dad. I ran to him and took my blade out but dad already killed it. The next walkers came out of the building.

Dad rolled himself under the walker so that they wouldn't smell him.

Shane and i ran. I ran to the next car and rolled underneath it. Dad suddenly fell down next to me. 3 walkers over him but dad shot them in the heads. I rolled out and saw Rendall running away. I ran after him and pushed him against a car. Dad helped me. I looked around, all walkers were trying to get into the bus to Shane.

Dad looked at the bus.

Me "We could just leave him there. Tell them it was Karma that got him"

Dad rolled his eyes at me.

Rendall "i'll help you if you give me a gun"

Dad "let's go. we're going"

Dad lead him to the car. I followed him. I smirked at Shane who was looking at us from the inside of the bus.

I waved at him and walked to dad.He walked to the benzine truck. There were laying two dead walkers next to each other.

Dad "Keep an eye on him, Ken"

He took the guns from the dead bodies.

Me "Dad"

He looked at me.

Me "if you really wanna safe him. get in the car. I have an idea"

He nodded. We got in the car. Rendall in the trunk. I drove past the bus. Dad shot the walkers.

Dad "Shane! run!"

Shane run out of the back door. I parked in front of it and Shane jumped inside.

Dad "go!go!go!"

I drove away, back to the farm.
