《The Hybridz | TBZ✔》Chapter 10 | Heat Spreading Like Wildfire

Three hybrids went into heat the same day. The three were Younghoon, Changmin and Sunwoo.
"This is spreading like wildfire, guys", I said as they sat on the couch. "I'm seriously scared."
"I don't feel anything…", Sunwoo whispered. "Is this normal?"
I hugged him and he squeezed back, holding me tightly.
"Why do we have to take the pills?" Eric asked, fear in his eyes. "I mean, look at them!"
"Because even I understand that if we don't take the pills we may do something to Y/N", Younghoon said with dark eyes. "It's better this way."
"It makes you so much more cuddly." He grabbed Younghoon's cheeks hard and squished them.
"Eric, stop it", I said. "You're bruising his poor cheeks."
Younghoon's eyes were set on the puma. They were even darker now and I could tell that he didn't think Eric was any fun.
"Listen, everyone that aren't in heat can go upstairs. I'll be there soon, okay?"
They disappeared.
"Guys", I said to the hybrids in heat. "You're all okay."

And a few days later, they all were in heat. All but Juyeon, of course. I was left with ten whiny hybrids that had worse mood swings than me all day long. Some of them still managed to piss off the others and a few fights went down. It was mostly the predators trying to kill each other, but some of the others got triggered as well. It was quite scary to be honest. I tried to get between Kevin and Eric once, but almost got hit myself.
"Hey, shtiheads!" Juyeon shouted with a voice I never heard before. He sounded so mad. "Get up off the motherfucking floor and apologize to Y/N. You almost hurt her!"

The two hybrids gasped and hurried over to me, hugging me both at the same time. They apologized over and over even though I had already assured them that I was okay.
"Y/N...I have a question", Jacob said, raising his hand like a school kid.
"Yeah?" I asked.
"Can we scent you? I mean...heat is mating season and we absolutely can't do that, so can we at least scent you? It's a protection for you against other hybrids and it would make us feel calmer every time you went outside alone."
I thought about it for a moment.
"Please?" Jaehyun said. "We just want to show you that we love you."
"Okay, but not now. I don't want you standing on a line and doing whatever you do to scent someone. Wait, do you scent each other?"
"It's marking territory", Sangyeon explained as if it was the most normal thing in the world. "So yes."
"I have the lead", Eric said proudly.
"No, you don't! I do!" Sunwoo scoffed.
"Not for long..."
Eric hurried over to me and wrapped his legs, arms and tail around me before rubbing his cheek against me.
"And that makes it eleven", Eric said cockily.

Interface
Welcome to the World-City of Thousel, the sixth iteration of life on the planet. These are the recordings of the people of Thousel. Thousel is believed to be the second longest iteration of life, and the overall most prosperous compared to what we know about the past five iterations. Medicine and technology have all progressed abundantly, and the world itself has been turned into one great city, governed and managed by the Governmental-Company Alliance, or the GCA.These particular recordings concern the discovery of a peculiar machine. When two very different people find themselves bound by the fate of one mysterious bot, life in the World-City begins to change… Interface is a cyberpunk webnovel set in an ecumenopolis world where people evolved with electro-sensory abilities. These senses shape the face of modern technology and life in a world where the three largest corporations run what has effectively become the government. Each of these three companies control various aspects of life in the city, and they all constantly vie for domain and power over one another. The world stands at the precipice of biological, technological, and historical breakthrough. After decades of study into microbiology, archaeology, and geology, it has been discovered that sentient life has lived on the planet multiple times over. These past peoples are referred to as the “prior iterations of life,” and it is believed that five great civilizations were constructed before the rise of the modern world. No one can be sure for certain what caused these peoples’ extinction long ago, and the theories range from simply dying off over time to massive tectonic fractures in the face of the planet. Advanced technology, far more complicated than anything the people possess today, has been uncovered in multiple locations. This has lead scholars to speculate on exactly how long each iteration of life survived and how far they progressed as a society. None of the companies have been able to find a way to make this ancient technology work for their own profit. It is as though they are each missing the final key needed to unlock these centuries old secrets. What could this knowledge reveal about the nature of life across every iteration? What power could it give to the one who wields it?Far from the investigation into the origin of life, two kids unlock a new mystery – one that ties their fates to the discovery of an old, mysterious robot. Suddenly, eyes begin to turn towards them as life in the city of Thousel changes wherever they go…

Avine: The Journey
Avine, the name recorded in the oldest records of faith concerning the creation of the world. The lands of Avine are in turmoil. A lengthy war recently ended. Casualties were terrible, but not limited to the dead alone. Breakdowns occurred in society, and kingdoms struggled with civil unrest and a never-ending stream of refugees. Mariel Bluegale has lived a relatively uneventful life. Largely sheltered from prejudice by her parents Serin and Arwaro, she grew up in a kingdom that prospered thanks to its strictly neutral policy. But the winds of war are once more on the horizon. Peace is merely the prelude to a new, even bigger conflict, one which may be decided on the identity of one. Release schedule: One chapter a week for the forseeable future. Reality caught up with me, this means I have to scale back my writing time considerably. I promise to finish it, but it will be in pieces, and likely around holidays. As always, any -painful- errors (spelling, flow, consistency or time) please let me know.
