I noticed that Kevin was weird the next morning. In one second, he wanted to be close to me and the other, he was being ignorant and rude to everyone.
"Oh, oh, someone's going into heat", Jaehyun joked as he shoved a spoon of cereal in his mouth.
Hybrids in heat were like girls on their period...only difference was that the hybrids had a larger sexual frustration. Kevin scoffed at Jaehyun's comment and disappeared out of the room.
"That was unnecessary", I said to the poodle before going after Kevin.
He was sitting in his bed, arms crossed. He seemed nervous and I felt as nervous as he looked. None of them had been in heat before. I had only had them for two weeks.
"Everything okay, Kevin?" I asked.
"I...yes, yes...I'm okay...", he sighed and played with his fluffy tail.
He seemed so different. Kevin was a flirt, he was sarcastic...not this vulnerable little thing.
"You seem distracted, was Jaehyun right? Are you going into heat?"
"Mhm...a-and I'm worried..."
"About what?"
I sat down beside him but he started moving away from me.
"How I'm going to behave. I mean...I'm your first hybrid in heat and it's the first time for me that I've been around a human that I care about when I've been in heat. At the hybrid shelter I didn't care about anyone but myself. I'm afraid that I won't be able to control myself. I don't want to hurt anybody."
"How about we get some pills to help you and then figure it out from there?"
"Pills? There are pills?"
"Yes, pills to help hybrids with heat, because I'm not helping you."
Kevin smirked slightly. "Sadly, I had already figured that out."

"Alright, I'll go to the store then."
"Can I come with you?"
"No, not until you've gotten your pills. Stay in here until I get back, alright?"
"Wait, before you go...I have to do something."
"What?"
He scooted closer and embraced me in a tight hug before rubbing his cheek against my shoulder. He seemed proud as he let go.
"What did you do?" I asked.
"I scented you...so other hybrids will know you already belong to someone..."
It was the first time any of them had done that.
"Why did you do that?" I wondered.
"I was just worried that...that something would happen to you. I don't want anyone to take you from us."
"That won't happen. I know your heat is talking now so I better go buy those pills."
Kevin nodded. When I grabbed my jacket, they all looked weirdly at me.
"I have to buy pills for Kevin, he's going into heat and he's worried", I said.
"I'm coming with you", Juyeon said. "No one else."
"Okay...?"
"Let's go, Y/N."
Juyeon held my hand while walking through the cold air.
"This is my first time having a hybrid in heat, I'm worried", I said.
"Some hybrids get worse than others...and based on Kevin's normal behavior...let me just tell you that you'll be in for a ride. I know how he works", Juyeon said. "Trust me, you'll need those pills in your pockets at all times."
