Two weeks went by. By now I had gotten to know them and they had gotten more comfortable in the new house and their new life.

“Where are you going?” Juyeon asked one night when I grabbed my jacket.

“I’m going out för a little while”, I said.

“Out? Are you sure?”

“It’s just a walk, sweetheart, no need to be afraid.”

“I’m not afraid, just worried...”

“It’s just a little walk, Juyeon. You don’t need to be worried. You’re always so alert, why don’t you just relax slightly?”

He sighed. “It doesn’t work like that-”

“A walk?” Jacob cut him off and flew up from the couch. “That’s good! The dogs can come with you then! We need to be walked off anyways.”

Him and Jaehyun hurried to put on their jackets and then follow me outside. Juyeon stopped Jaehyun on the way.

“Look out for her, okay?” he asked and pointed his finger against his face warningly. “If any of you dogs hurt our owner, I will break your nose.”

Jaehyun whimpered like a little dog and hurried away from Juyeon.

“Juyeon, don’t scare him like that”, I sighed and took Jaehyun’s hand. “Our little poodle is sensitive.”

“I still mean what I said. I’ll see you later.”

“Wait, wait! I’ll come with you! I’m practically a dog!” Younghoon shouted as he ran out while trying to put on his jacket. “Don’t worry, Juyeon, I’ll protect our owner.”

I started walking with my two dog-hybrids and one wolf-hybrid. They loved walking with me. They loved spending time with me. We had only known each other for two weeks, but they were already so comfortable with me and each other. I thought it was so sweet.

“Y/N, Y/N, do you want to play?” Jaehyun asked and jumped up and down.

“Let’s just walk you off so you won’t be bothering everyone else when they’re trying to sleep tonight.”

“We’re not bothering anyone! Changmin does! If anyone needs to be walked off at night, it’s him!”

“He’s right”, Younghoon said and took my hand. “Changmin needs to calm down at night. He’s running around and annoying us when we’re trying to sleep.”

“He bit me once!” Jacob whined. “His little teeth just punctured my arm!”

“I can agree that he is very playful, but...oh well.”

When I came back and had made myself ready for bed, I found Sangyeon sleeping in my bed, cuddled up in my sheets as if it was his bed. I knew that it was winter time and he slept a lot during that time, but he had his own bed.

“Hey, Sangyeon, you need to go to your room”, I said and shook him.

“No”, he whined tiredly. “I want to sleep here. It has your scent.”

“Sangyeon, it’s my bed.”

“Just lay down with me instead...I’m too tired to move.”

“I need to sleep, Sangyeon.”

“Then sleep beside me?”

“Fine.”

He seemed to like it. He brought my back to his front and hugged me tightly in a hug. A bear hug.

“Sangyeon…”, I sighed and tried to get his arms off me.

“Let me”, he giggled. “I love being close to you.”

“I can’t breathe!”

"Sounds like a you-problem."

"Sangyeon…"

“i’m sorry, I’m sorry.” He backed slightly, letting me get some space. “I just wanted to hug my owner as a thank you for everything you do. As a thank you for saving us.”

“I’m glad you think so, Sangyeon.”

“Sleep well.”

I smiled and shut my eyes, falling asleep.
