《Trust Me (Daryl Dixon x OC)》{14}

Daryl and I had gone down to the quarry to get away from everyone and everything. The two people who are so different but so alike. We sat on a log by the edge of the water while we skipped rocks on the clear blue water. We sat there in silence for a while. Just tossing rock.
"You're more quiet than usual." He finally said.
"Yeah well, not really in the mood to talk." I said picking at the scabs on my knuckles.
"Why. You usually have some smart ass comment to make." I shook my head.
"Yeah well. I don't today." I said getting up and walking away.
"Hey, what'd I say?" Daryl said, chasing after me.
"Nothin' Look Daryl, I'm leaving with or without everyone else. I need to be on my own or find somewhere that I actually belong." I said still walking back to camp. Daryl caught up with me and grabbed my arm.
"Hey, you belong here, with your family." I laughed in his face.
"Those people I use to call family told me to fuck off and leave. I'm not wanted nor am I needed here."
"Look you can't leave. You're the only one here who gets me and can put me in my place." I was taken back by Daryl's words.
"What the hell are you trying to say, Dixon." I said stepping back from him.
"I'm telling ya' can't leave."
"Why the hell not."
"Cause' we need ya'. I need ya'." He whispered the last part of his sentence so I couldn't hear him.
"You guys would be fine without me."
"Just stay till we get to the C.D.C. If you don't want to stay I won't stop you." I sighed and thought about what he said.

"Okay fine." I said and we walked back to camp. I walked in and saw Lori sitting on the stair of the RV and Shane was in front of her. Daryl walked off to god knows where to do who knows what. They seemed to be having an argument when I saw Rick walk back out of the RV and talk to them. I saw Rick and Shane walk away from Lori most likely to do their nightly sweep.
"Raven. Come on." Shane yelled at me.
I grabbed my crossbow and followed behind them. They grabbed their guns and we were off. I stayed further back that way. I wasn't in their way.
"Raven." I heard Rick say.
"Yeah." I said catching up to them.
"I wanted to say I'm sorry. About earlier." I sighed at Rick.
"Look, Rick, I'll tell you what I told Shane. I don't need you or him or anyone. I was doing fine on my own." I sighed and stopped walking.
"Look I know you guys care about me. And you're my brother's and I love you both but, what you said hurt. And I don't know if I'm going to stay with the group." This stopped them both in their tracks.
"What do you mean? You ain't leaving." Shane said, looking at me.
"Look, it's not your choice. I don't belong here and I don't fit in here." I said to them.
"Raven we need you here, you're a fighter. And we need fighters." Rick said, walking over to me.
"Let's just do our sweep." I said pushing past them. I walked ahead of them but I could hear their conversation behind me.
"Tell you what, man, these people, man, they're not convinced. You know?" Shane said to Rick probably about us all going to the C.D.C.

"You head to the C.D.C., you might be on your own. You gotta really consider whether you want to put Lori and Carl in that kind of spot." Shane said now confirming that I was right it was about the C.D.C.
"I gotta do what's best for my family." Rick said to Shane.
"Best for your family? What's that? Exposing them to all kinds of risks?" Shane said now frustrated with Rick.
"As opposed to what? Crossing 100 miles of hostile territory? If we're looking for a lifeline, I say swim toward the closest ship, not further out to sea." Shane sighed and walked off.
"Why can't you back me up?" Rick said to Shane.
"Look I want to. It's just...I don't see it." I was off in a different place not too far from them so I could still hear them but, I was far enough that they had forgotten I was out here.
"If it was your family, you'd feel differently."
"I have a family here Rick, Raven, and I'm trying to do my best for her. Hell she might hate us right now but, you know we gotta do what's best for the group too." Shane said protesting the thought of us going to the C.D.C. Shane had frozen, actually taking in what Rick had said. He basically said Lori and Carl weren't his family either.
"What did you say to me? I'm hoping I heard you wrong. I kept 'em safe, man. Lori, Carl. I looked after them like they were my own. That's what I did." Shane said walking up to Rick getting in his face.
"I didn't mean it that way." Rick said. I leaned against a tree watching my boys fight and argue like usual. "
Well, how's you mean it? Go on, man. How's you mean it?" Shane was noticeably pissed off at Rick's comment.
"You're misinterpreting it, man. You're just hearing it wrong. Look you know...you know I can never repay that debt, okay?" Rick said I knew he was grateful for everything that Shane had done for him and his family. We all stopped when we heard a branch snap in the woods somewhere. The two boys split up and I followed behind Shane because that's where the sound had come from. We were all walking around making sure it wasn't a walker till I saw Shane pointing his gun straight at Rick.
'What the actual fuck!' I snuck up on Shane just to be sure I was seeing this right and that there was no walker over by Rick. But nope it was just Rick, Shane and I. And Shane was aiming right at his so-called best friend.
"Shane what the fuck are you doing?" I said as I saw this killer look in his eye.
"Uh...gonna have to start wearing reflective vests out here. Seriously." I just stared at him.
"Come on, man." Shane yelled at Rick. I walked back to camp trying to decipher what I had just seen. My own brother just aimed a gun at his own best friend, what would have stopped him from pulling the trigger.

A Mildly Odd Reality Breaker
Omar receives an unexpected visitor who comes baring a gift—a "registration ticket"—in the form of a small metal card. The ticket is itself an offer to participate in the game, "Reality Break." Accepting this offer means that Omar will be able to perceive the true nature of reality where there is not one, but two dimensions of time, and in this second dimension history changes (and somewhat "frequently"). Along with this, he will also gain access to the "chronopause"; another reality that is not so much parallel to our own as it is perpendicular, which acts as both a place and the natural boundary between non-sequential points on the timeline. Using the chronopause, Omar will become a chrononaut with the ability to travel through time, and as a player, he will be given a cybernetic interface and his own portable extradimensional storage space. It's a strange conversation, but due to Omar's dismally short attention span, he only consciously hears that last bit about the portable pocket space, and that's only after the physics-defying void is opened in his living room and literally waved in front of his face. Reality is certainly stranger than most people realize, but then again, so is Omar. Thankfully, he responds well to shiny things, and for better or for worse, his chronic inattentiveness is the least of his psychological issues. Omar also has a mild form of "Oppositional Defiant Disorder" which presents itself as an occasional, arbitrary need to disobey others (especially authority figures). However, his oddest psychological issue by far is his "abnormally hyperactive" subconscious mind. Outwardly and consciously, Omar is a lazy, apathetic man-child prone to mildly asinine behavior. Subconsciously, he's some sort of genius capable of extraordinary feats of cognition. Most of the time, Omar is a (technically) functioning adult, but in order to live as such, he must rely entirely upon unusual abilities he's completely unaware of, despite the fact that he uses them regularly. Up until now, his life had merely been ridiculous, but now it was also a game. Note: The narrative style is that of a reliable narrator with a "3rd-person sarcastic" POV. This story takes place in the Reality Breakers/Chronopause universe.

In Z Finite
This is the story of Zarco, a young guy with a magic stone and not much else, and Caelum, a wingless "angel". "Caelum-That's stupid... Zarco-Eh, it is..." Ahem, anyway, a lot of action & adventure awaits them, as they are forced together on a journey in search of some magic stones of legendary power. "Zarco-Liar! We're currently doing a lot more of "trying to survive" than rock picking around here! Caelum-Yeah, that is pretty misleading." Ok, screw this, I am out, if nobody read this story it will be your fault. "Zarco-The hell are you talking about, you're the one who wrote this... Caelum-Since our writer is unreliable, I will finish this. This story at its core is just a fun rump, focused on action, adventure, and a lot of comedic dialogue and exchanges. If you had at least a chuckle reading this then you will probably enjoy the story. Zarco-Yo, thanks for reading till this point, we will meet again at the pages."
