Lori seemed a bit off since she talked to Jim. We had gotten all the fish cleaned up and ready to be cooked. Morales built up a bigger stone wall around the fire pit that way the flames could be bigger and not attract anything. I was just sitting over by the RV thinking about the guys. I wished they would come back sooner. I missed Rick. That was till I saw Shane staring at me. I looked at him and shook my head. He had a slight longing in his eyes, like he wanted to talk to me about something. I rolled my eyes, I didn't really want to talk to Shane at least not alone. Not after what almost happened last time. It was getting late and the group wasn't back yet, I was starting to get worried about them. I watched Shane and Carl walk over to Jim who was still tied up to a tree.
"How you feeling, Jim?" Shane asked, squatting down to Jim's level.
"I'm feeling better. More myself now." Jim responded to Shane.
"I hope you understand the need for this... this timeout. I've got others I've got to think about. I just want to make sure there's no. No hard feelings. With you, me, even Raven." Jim shook his head
"There's not. I do understand." Shane chuckled
"Okay. Why don't you come join the rest of us? Big ol' fish fry." Jim smiled and looked over at Carl. That kid was always the one to help get people out of trouble. He was like his dad in that way. Always looking for the good in people.
"I'd like that very much." Shane chuckled and let Jim out of his restraints. We cooked up the fish and all sat around the fire.
We all were having a great time and so much fun. I totally forgot about the fact that the group wasn't back from rescuing Merle's sorry ass.

"Pass the fish, please" Sophia asked. I handed Carol another plate of fish she took and passed it to Sophia who took it happily.
"Man o man, that's good." Shane said next to me. I shook my head and giggled at him. We all passed around the fish till there was nothing left. We all had a great time full of laughter and good company. I just watched everyone. I wasn't sitting to close but, I also wasn't too far away from everyone.
"I gotta ask you man. It's been driving me crazy." Morales said over to Dale.
"What?" He said with a chuckle.
"That watch."
"What's wrong with my watch?" Dale asked fiddling with the watch.
"I see you everyday, the same time, winding that thing like a village priest saying mass." Morales finally asked.
Jacqui laughed "I've wondered this myself." She said to Dale.
"I'm missing the point." Dale said.
"Unless I've misread the signs, the world seems to have come to an end. At least hit a speed bump for a good long while." Jacqui continued to say.
"But there's you everyday winding that stupid watch." Morales said with a grin.
"Time...it's important to keep track, isn't it? The days at least? Don't you think, Andrea?" Dale gestured to her.
"Back me up here." Andrea gave him a weird look and chuckled at him.
"I like...I like what, um, a father said to son when he gave him a watch that had been handed down through generations. He said, "I give you a mausoleum of all hope and desire, which will fit your individual needs no better than it did mine or my father's before me; I give it to you not that you may remember time, but that you may forget it for a moment now and then and not spend all of your breath trying to conquer it." Yeah." We all listened to Dale like he was our grandpa and we all were his grandchildren. It was peaceful almost like the world hadn't ended.

I saw Shane look up at Lori and she gave him a strange look. Something was definitely going on there, I just couldn't put my finger on it. I shook it off and looked back into the fire.
"You are so weird." Amy said to Dale. Everyone laughed at her comment.
"It's not me. It's Faulkner. William Faulkner. Maybe my bad paraphrasing." Dale said with a smile on his face. Amy got up surprising her sister.
"Where are you going?" Andrea said.
"I have to pee. Jeez, you try to be discreet around here." Amy said walking to the RV. We all giggled at Amy as she left. We all picked at what was left of the food and sat around the fire enjoying each other's company.
"We're out of toilet paper?" Amy called from the RV.
"Guess so!" I yelled back to her.
We all shot up like bullets when we heard Amy's blood curdling screams. I looked over and a walker was taking a huge bit out of her arm. Everyone started to panic as walkers came out of the woods. I pulled out my hand gun and started to shoot any walkers that I could see. Hitting each target dead in between their eyes.
"Lori, get him down!" Shane yelled at Lori as he pulled out his shot gun and started taking down walkers with me.
"Everyone get to safety!" I yelled and everyone tried to hide behind Shane. We were losing people left and right. Amy was hurt badly and Shane was trying to keep Lori and Carl safe. Walkers were eating the people that were already dead. Shane was trying to get everyone to safety but still took walkers out. "Come on y'all. Work your way up here." I heard Shane yell at everyone. "Right in front of you. Shane!" Lori yelled as a walker came out right in front of Shane.
"Get to the RV!" I yelled as Morales pulled together the rest of the survivors.
"Go!" He yelled.
I climbed up on top of the roof of the RV and kept gunning down as many walkers as I could.
"Stay behind me!" Shane yelled.
"Morales, get up here!" I yelled from the roof of the RV. Morales came up to the RV. And I saw Rick and the rest of the group coming out of the woods. But no Merle. Between the 6 of us we took down all the walkers.
"Baby! Carl! Baby!" I heard Rick yelling as we finished off the last of the walkers. Carl ran up to Rick and hugged him tightly as he walked up to Lori. Everyone was on high alert after this attack. Andrea was still with Amy as she was bleeding out. I got down from the roof of the RV. Amy was struggling and Andrea was a crying mess. No one seemed to have noticed that I was gone. So I took this as an opportunity to walk back to my truck.
I sighed as I put my rifle in the truck first. I sat down and sighed. I didn't know how to feel. My heart hurt from losing so many people. I could hear Andrea's cries. I knew that meant Amy was dead. I could hear people crying and I knew this moment was going to change absolutely everything for all of us. I got out and walked over and stood next to Daryl.
"I remember my dream now. Why I dug the holes." Jim said as everyone looked down at all the bodies. 'And so starts a new chapter in our life's.'

A World Worth Protecting
By the year 3029 CE, Earth’s technology has developed rapidly, borders no longer exist, and Earth has been unified, marking the beginning of the era of the Federation. At that time, a huge sword flew from the heavens, piercing the sun and causing a huge sensation on Earth. Perhaps because the scabbard of the sword was already in tatters, countless shards have broken off from it following the collision with the sun and spread across the universe. Many of these shards have landed on various places across Earth. With the arrival of the bronze sword and its shards, a new unlimited energy source has suddenly appeared on Earth. This energy source has since been named Spirit Qi. Spirit Qi is like air, thick in some places and thin in others. As the Federation and other factions gather more shards, they discover more information on cultivation, pill refinement, Spirit Stone refinement, and other techniques. The words on the shards have an ancient feel to them, making it a trend for people to use ancient language. The appearance of Spirit Qi rapidly makes the original energy sources obsolete and has completely changed people’s lives. Not only has the Spirit Internet been formed, Spirit Qi has also changed the course of Human Civilization, causing the world to enter a civilization of cultivation. This would later come to be known as the Spirit Inception Era.

8 107Sleeping Through the Apocalypse
Our 'valiant hero' Mark just finished a 72-hour VRMMO marathon and passed out as soon as he reached his goal. His rest is disturbed by patch notes, but he sleeps as the world he knows ends, and a terrifying game begins. Join Mark as he discovers the wonders and horrors of the new world that awaits him. This is 'realistic' and chaotic. There is cursing and gore. I do my best to imagine how a person would actually handle the apocalypse, and the answer is "not well."
