《Naruto The Shinobi Hunter》Chapter 20

Naruto looked up at the giant creature, as it too was looking around. Garou could only stand there, amazed at the creature's size, "That thing has to be at least High-Demon, maybe even Low-Dragon Level," Garou whispered. He then saw the giant look down at them and tilted its head, "Who are you?" it asked
"My name's Naruto Uzumaki! I summoned you!" Naruto shouted as the beasts eye's landed on Naruto
"You? A little brat like you, summoned me?"
"Yes! Now I want you to answer a question for me!" Naruto shouted at the top of his lungs, taking a few steps toward the giant
'This kid has no fear, but he's full of spunk. There's no way he's from Danzo's ROOT,' it thought as Naruto walked up to him
"Where's Danzo?!" Naruto demanded. The creature, still looking down at Naruto, slowly laid down on the ground. It then closed its' eyes and crossed it's front legs, setting it's head on them while saying: "I don't know,"
"............ WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?!" Naruto stomped the ground, "YOU'RE KIDDING ME! YOU'RE HIS SUMMONS! YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO KNOW WHERE HE'S AT!"
"Phhh, he hasn't summoned me since the Third Great Ninja War," the creature explained, scratching its chin
"BULLSHIT!!" Naruto pointed at the summon as Garou struck Naruto over the head. Naruto rubbed the back of his head as Garou walked up to the massive summon, "Hey! What's your name!" Garou shouted
"Hm?"
"You're name! What is it!" Garou repeated as the creature sighed
"Baku," he simply replied
"Baku? You know, I heard stories of Baku from when I was young. Nightmare eaters! Am I right?" Garou questioned, making one of Baku's eyes open
"Yes... that's correct," Baku replied, his interest peaking at Garou's questions
"There are a bunch of legends around you and your kind. You eat nightmares and give people dreams. But sometimes you want more than just a nightmare, sometimes you take away hopes and ambitions!" Garou said, smiling as Baku faced him, giving Garou his full attention. Baku then huffed out some hot air from his trunk, knowing where this was going, "You're buttering me up, aren't you?" Baku asked

"Me? Why would I want to do that? I've got no beef with you. It's the brat that wants something," Garou smirked
"Hmph, well I don't know where Danzo's at. As I said, haven't seen him since the Third Great Ninja War," Baku explained
"Well, news-flash, Baku. Danzo's missing. More like he betrayed the village," Garou said, making Baku's eyes widen
"WHAAT?!" Baku shouted, shaking the ground and the trees. The force of the shout caught Garou by surprise, sending both him and Naruto flying. Garou managed to catch Naruto by the collar of his shirt as they landed on a branch. Baku jumped off the ground, landing back on it, making said ground shake. It was comparable to a level 6 magnitude earth-quake. Baku glared at Garou, "YOU LIE! DANZO WOULD NEVER BETRAY KONOHA! EVERYTHING HE DID WAS FOR THE BETTERMENT OF IT!"
"Well, it's true, oh great Baku! Just ask the kid here, he's the result of a bomb going off at his apartment! A trap for anyone unsuspecting of him!" Garou shouted to Baku. Baku then walked up to the tree they were one, lowering his head as he looked Naruto in the eye, "Is this true, child?"
"Y-yes. Danzo betrayed the village... a-and did this to me," Naruto said, playing along with Garou, despite it being a half-truth. Baku gritted his teeth, raising his paw into the air and swiping it across the giant tree they were on. It shattered into splitters as Naruto raised his arms to protect himself from the debris. Blowing extremely hot air out of his nose, Baku looked down at the summoning contract and stared at Danzo's name, "You broke the means of the contract, Danzo," he mumbled as he raised a claw and put it on Danzo's name. Naruto, despite being so far away, saw what Baku was doing and quickly jumped off the branch he was on and ran to the scroll, "What are you doing?!"
"Danzo broke the contract. As such, his name is to be erased from it," Baku explained, Naruto seeing the ink slowly disappearing from the scroll
"No. No! NO! NO! NO!" Naruto shouted as he grabbed hold of Baku's giant claw and tried to move it. But it was no use as Baku completely erased Danzo from the contract. As Baku removed his cawl, Naruto stood there in shock. His only lead to finding Danzo. The man who caused all of his pain. Was gone. Erased. He just stood there, looking at the blank spot. Only his name remained on the scroll. Baku watched this as he seemed to peer into Naruto's mind. Baku then closed his eyes and disappeared into a giant cloud of smoke. When Baku was gone, Garou jumped down and landed behind his student. Placing a hand on his shoulder, Garou bent down and asked: "You alright, kid?"

"No... I'm not," Naruto replied, remaining silent for the rest of the day.
Naruto laid in his bed as he stared up at the ceiling. He couldn't sleep. He just laid there, motionless as he thought of only Danzo's name being erased. Sighing, he turned over to face his TV. Grabbing his remote, he turned it on, hoping he put in a DVD. Sure enough, Watchmen was in and Naruto watched it. Soon after Naruto got to the part where Dr. Manhattan was being put on trial, he heard a small noise and felt a weight on his legs. Looking down, he saw Baku, who was about the size of a small lion, laying on his bed, "HOLY SHIT!" Naruto whispered-shouted as Baku placed a claw over his mouth
"Shhh! I thought you would've been asleep," Baku removed his claw from Naruto's mouth. Naruto looked around the room until he glared at Baku, "What the hell are you doing here?!"
"I was getting a late-night snack. But it seems you're awake," Baku explained
"A snack?"
"I forgot to explain the terms of the contract," Baku shook his head with a sigh, "alright, so in exchange for my help, I get to eat your nightmares,"
"But doesn't that just benefit me?"
"No, I get food out of it. I eat your nightmares. How do you think Danzo slept so well at night after everything he's experienced?" Baku stated
"Oh... oh," Naruto said as he laid back down in bed
"So, what are you watching?" Baku asked
"Watchmen,"
"Hmm... mind if I watch it with you?"
"Go ahead," Naruto said as Baku laid his head down like a giant dog. Naruto and Baku watched the movie well into the night, all the way to the end. Soon after the movie started to roll its credits, Naruto was asleep. Baku looked at the clock, seeing that it was only 1 in the morning, stayed on the bed, waiting for a nightmare to happen.
Naruto stood in front of the Shinobi Academy as his siblings danced behind him, excited about their first day of school, "Yes! Finally! We get to become Shinobi!" Naruko squealed
"Well, we are, sis! Believe it!" Menma shouted
"What are you waiting for then, brats?! Get going!" Jiraiya said, holding up a camera to take a picture. He took the said picture as Menma and Naruko ran inside the building. They opened the front door and ran by Guy, "Whoa! Such youth!" Guy said, smiling at the twins' excitement, "Naruto! It's nice to see that you've made it!"
"Hey, Guy-sensei!" Naruto said, running up to Guy, both having a smile on their faces
"You don't seem as excited as your brother and sister, Naruto. Mind telling me why?" Guy asked
"I-I am a little nervous, Guy-sensei," Naruto admitted. Guy laughed, patting Naruto's back as he said: "Ha ha ha ha! It's just fine, Naruto! It just means you still have room to grow. Youth like that is what's gonna make you push forward in the academy. Now come! We have much to learn!"
"We?" Naruto asked as Guy turned around and walked into the building
"Who says a teacher can't learn anything new? That's the power of Youth! To push further beyond what you couldn't do yesterday! Learning something new means to go beyond! Now let's go learn!" Guy shouted as he grabbed Naruto by the good arm and ran down the hall. Jiraiya just stood there in awe, "Oh my kami... I feel bad for the little tike," Jiraiya whispered as he looked down at his camera, "I hope I got a picture of that,"

Viceroy's Pride
This story could be about the Tellask Empire, ruler of a thousand suns and faced with imminent peril at the hands of the Orakh hordes. It could be about Paltai Amberell, the scion of a noble elven House, fallen upon hard times and seeking to find the key that will restore his family's name and save the Empire itself. It could be the story of his voidship, The Viceroy's Pride, powered by magic and crewed by a team of crack marines as they search for adventure and the solution to the Empire's myriad problems. Instead, this is the story of Daniel Thrush, human electrical engineer, befuddled researcher and survivor of the debacle that was first contact with a spacefaring civilization. Due to a combination of luck, magic, hard work, and more luck he is thrust into the center of events as Earth is shoved onto a much larger stage rife with semi-immortal elves and magical kingdoms that predate the Earthly invention of agriculture. Earth is outnumbered, and we have precisely one wizard. Dan. He's not very good at it, but he's going to have to learn in a hurry or watch everything he knows get torn apart by massive spacefaring empires straight from the pages of a fantasy novel. ---------- Some readers have noted that the MC tends to be weak willed and pushed around a bit. A significant portion of the story is his character growth into not being a pushover (i.e. him being passive is in the early chapters on purpose). I'm just including this caveat/warning to make sure that readers aren't surprised/upset and that they stick with it until he learns to stand up for himself. His arc begins to crystallize around chapters 25-27. If that's too long to wait, I get it, I'm just trying to do my due diligence and warn you that the character development is a bit of a slow burn. This is NOT a harem novel. Nothing against them, just not what it is. --------- Updates Monday, Wednesday, and Sunday Feel free to bother me on our discord- Discord!

Primal Adaptation
The story of a little soul that ends up tangled in the games and bets of entities that utilize beasts of any primordial planet as a game avatar to make the Perfect Primal. This tale is not only its story because it will also share its destiny with the entity that will help it in its journey, and together they will rise from their particular situations one way or another. Primal Adaptation is a history with some RPG elements in it, but the MC can't look at a status screen or skill page because it's a beast through and through. I have implemented an evolution system for all the creatures of this story, where they grow or mutate depending on what they consume. In this tale, you won't find a Deus ex machina to give the protagonist power-ups. Everything must be learned and comprehended before its use unless it's something it gets immediately, or the abilities get understood by instinct. In essence, it is survival and gambit for opportunities, be it from one MC or the other.

After All
This is not my story. My story was of a world I forged by my raw will, and of you, my children, forged of my dreams. That story has long since ended. Our world was not alone. Another deity came from beyond my sight, and despite our resistance rent our world asunder. In the end, all was lost and you were gone. That I survived your passing is a testament to the cruelty of existence; I cannot forgive existence for the monstrous crime of making me go on without you. This is the story of a new world, forged by the hands of fools. That it is made from the bones of that which I most hated will bring this place no absolution. In the fullness of time, I will seize the reins of this new narrative, and I shall end it. You are lost to me, my children. I will make a funeral pyre of all reality for you, and be with you in oblivion after all. --- DocSumac here. This is a story that has been rattling around in my head for years. It's not complete, but I'm not going to let it haunt me anymore. I'm uploading what is ready, and I'll add more as I can. --- Addendum May 20, 2020: I've added the Sex tag. Not because of actual smut, but becuase of what will probably devolve into an ongoing parade of dick jokes. No point denying my nature.
