《Clato》chapter thirty-one

Cato didn't resist, he bunkered down and fell asleep instantly. He didnt have any nightmares now, it was actually quite peaceful and bright.

Clove watched Cato sleep. She was so happy to see him relaxing and to know that they could be together. Hours later, dawn began to break. Clove knew how Cato felt not wanting to wake her up, she felt the same way. She let him sleep. It wasn't like they needed to be anywhere.

Cato woke up about an hour after dawn, he yawned and slowly sat up.

"Good morning!" Clove said cheerfully.

"Good morning," Cato smiled.

"Sleep well?" Clove asked.

"Yeah," Cato nodded and smiled slightly.

"Good." Clove smiled.

"Marvel and that girl from District 11 are dead." Cato told Clove.

"So that leaves?" Clove asked. She already knew Katniss was still alive.

"Lover boy, Katniss, the redhead and Thresh." Cato answered and ran a hand through his hair.

"Ok." Clove nodded. Lover boy was near death, that she knew. Katniss could be anywhere. They hadn't seen the redhead anywhere since the start of the games, or Thresh for that matter.

Cato was leaning against the tree still, forming a plan in his mind. "Lover Boy will have to be dead soon,"

"Unless he magically gets some medicine... Unless they magically get some medicine, that is. Katniss would surely have teamed up with him now."

Cato frowned. "Maybe, but there's nothing left." He said, then a thought intruded his mind. "Unless.."

"Unless?" Clove asked.

Cato shook his head, "Nothing." He murmured and sat up a bit more.

"Unless what?" Clove asked a bit firmer. "I don't care how dumb it sounds, we need all the possibilities."

"Never mind." Cato said, he didn't want to give the Gamemakers any ideas.

Clove looked at him. "Ok. But what's our next move?"

"To destroy the remaining tributes." Cato said matter of factly.

Clove laughed. "Didn't see that one coming." She joked. "Which ones and how?"

Cato rolled his eyes, smirking lightly. "I think we should take Thresh out first, he's stronger than the other three. Then Katniss and Lover Boy, and the redhead."

Clove pondered on this for a moment. "Thresh is eleven, and is too big to climb trees, so he'd be in the grasses right?"

"True," Cato nodded. "And he's gotta have food and water."

"He'd probably know some edible grasses, and there might be water in that area."

Cato sighed and looked down at the dirt.

"This is gonna be hard. I don't really feel like tracking him in his territory. Who knows what's there."

Clove's stomach rumbled. "Maybe we should hunt for breakfast, then make a plan?" She suggested.

"Yeah," Cato nodded and got up.

Clove stood up as well. She certainly was hungry. She still had all of her knives, so she was ready to go.

Cato grabbed his sword and hiked his backpack up onto his back.

Clove started out towards the trees.

Cato watched her back; looking around. He spotted a bird on the ground.
