《Looed and Lost You 》_Chapter Thirteen: Flowers_

"Wakey wakey."
I groaned and rolled over in my bed. "Candy...Balthazar made breakfast." I opened my eyes to see Loki hovering over me. Running a hand over my face I sat up. "He made food?" I asked remembering what happened last week when he had tried to make something.
"Yep. And I don't think it's burnt this time...or on fire." I placed my hands on the bedsheets and smiled tiredly.
"Good...now get out of my room," I said pulling the sheets off myself. "I feel so welcomed." He said hopping off my bed. "Of course you do. If you didn't you wouldn't be here. Which wouldn't be half bad." I said grabbing my black sweatshirt and putting it over my gray tank top.
"I love knowing that you love me so much." He said opening my door. I followed him out the door, but not before grabbing my phone.
We went downstairs and into the kitchen where Balthazar sat reading a newspaper. When he heard us come in he looked up at us.
"Good morning Cansas. Did you rest well?" He asked as I sat down. "Sure," I said grabbing some of the bacon off the plate in the center. Loki sat across from me and used his fork to get several pancakes.
"How have your powers been coming along?" Balthazar asked me as I placed two pancakes on my plate. "Great," I said with heavy sarcasm.
"I've mastered the skill of getting back my things." I looked over to Loki to see him drowning his pancakes in syrup.
"Are you going to use the whole bottle?" I asked grabbing the syrup from him.
"Hey! I need my sugar."
"I think you need to slow down on the sugar intake. I've noticed you got a little tummy going there." I said with a fake smile. Loki's mouth opened wide.

"That really hurts. Right here." He said placing a hand over his heart. "You two act like children," Balthazar said going back to reading his newspaper.
"I'm a six-year-old at heart, Balthy," Loki said with a smirk. Balthazar only rolled his eyes at this. I poured some syrup on my pancakes and then handed it back to Loki who put some more on his pancakes. I eat my food as I watched Loki devour his own. That much syrup couldn't taste good.
"So...what are we doing today? Am I going to have to try and get myself out of a box again?" I asked thinking back to when he trapped me in a wooden box. Loki shook his head.
"Nope. Not today. I have something special planned."
"Oh, I can't wait," I said with a sigh.
"You'll like it. It has nothing to do with getting locked in any kind of box." He said with a cheesy smile. "Yepi," I said sarcastically.
Later that day I decided to go outside. "Hey, Balthazar I'm going outside for a bit." Balthazar looked over at me. "All right. Be careful." He said like every other time I went outside. "Of course."
I walked out of the front door, which I had finally found a week ago, and around the side of the house. I walked into the woods that lay there. Dead leaves from last fall lay on the ground as well as twigs from the trees above. I kept walking until I got to the clearing I had found last time I came into the woods.
Sitting down in the middle I crisscrossed my legs and took off my brown leather jacket leaving me in my black flannel. I placed my leather jacket on the ground next to me and then I put my hands on my knees. Taking a deep breath I closed my eyes.

"Happy thoughts...happy thoughts," I said trying to do something. Anything. I smiled when I thought of something funny Loki had said the other day. I snapped my eyes open. Don't think of that idiot! Are you stupid?! I thought to myself. But when I looked at the ground in front of me I saw purple and pink flowers had grown.
"Those weren't there a minute ago," I said to myself as I touched the petals. Did I do that? I shrugged it off and closed my eyes once again.
"Okay. Again. Happy thoughts." I sat there for a while until I thought about Loki once again. Snapping my eyes open once again I growled.
"That stupid bitch," The flowers had multiplied and grown bigger this time.
What was I doing? Why was I thinking of that trickster? This got me frustrated and I picked one of the flowers. I twirled it around and sighed. Was it because he made me happy? Or because he was charming?
"Charming? What is going on!" I shouted making the flowers bend over a bit. Maybe it's because you have a crush~ My inner conscience singsonged.
"No! That's a load of bull." I told myself. You think he's funny, somewhat nice, and handsome.
"I do not!"
I stayed quiet for a minute before I narrowed my eyes. "Why am I talking to myself?" I huffed laying back on the now flowery ground. I stayed there for a while before I got back up and decided to go back to the house. I picked up my jacket and put it on.
Before I left the cleaning though, I picked a few of the flowers so I could put them in a vase. When I got back to the house I walked in only to be met with Balthazar who was getting up from the couch.
"Hello, Cansas. Those are beautiful flowers. Would you like to put them in a vase?" He asked walking towards the kitchen.
"Yes please," I said following him. He went into one of the cabinets and pulled out a glass vase. As he placed it on the table I walked over.
"I have to get going soon. I will be back in the morning like always. Do you need anything before I go?" He asked me. I shook my head and placed the flowers in the vase.
"No. I'll see you later," I said with a smile as I picked the vase up.
Balthazar nodded and in the sound of flapping wings, he was gone. I walked over to the sink and filled the vase up with water.
When it was filled I placed it in the center of the table. When that was done I walked out of the kitchen and up to my room.
As I walked in I kicked off my heavy brown boots and took my jacket off. I placed my jacket on the desk near my bed and then I flopped myself onto my bed. I played with my necklace as I thought of what happened in the woods.
Did I really have a crush on him? I looked at my door as I heard a knock. The door opened to show off none other than Loki himself.
"Hey Candy. Get ready for the time of your life."

I Don't Seem So Bright in a Well-Lit Room
The universe is a very strange place. It will take even stranger heroes to save it."Absurd. Existential. Ridiculous. Tragic. Comic. The antiheroes of "I Don't Seem So Bright in a Well-Lit Room" are a kind of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern with space packs, inadvertently colliding with their destinies against a starry background of witty wordplay. With a vision as sprawling and limitless as the loveably goofy universe in which it's set, Browning's wit, wisdom and heart are always at play, combining to form a wonderfully panoramic and very silly heroes' journey that visits every trope of its overlapping genres and draws moustaches on all of them."- Marcel St. Pierre, author of "Vengeful Hank" and "Cliché and Wind Go Hitchhiking".(Sci-fi /Dark Humour/Absurd) *Completed!
