DREAMS COME TRUE

"Yeah, there's my little girl." Haley cooed, as she picked Daphne up.
She was currently home alone, just enjoying, well trying to enjoy here evening.
Haley had to admit that although the last 7 months of being a mom had been hard and tedious, she wouldn't trade it for the world.
After a little while, Daphne began to lose it. "Oh no..baby." Haley sighed, as she tried to rock her back and forth. It didn't help. Her crying only increased.
After searching the internet, and finding some possible answers, she tried everything she could. It didn't benefit the problem at all.
"What am I doing wrong?" Haley asked herself, panicking. She took some deep breaths, continuing to rock Daphne back and forth. "Hold on D...I'm going to call dad okay?" She said, getting nothing but crying in response.
"Hay, what's up?" Sam answered, as she sighed.
"Um...I need you to come home now. Daphne won't stop crying and freaking out. She might have teeth coming in...I can't get her to stop crying." Haley rambled.
"Yeah I'm on my way." He replied, hanging up.
Haley let out a frustrated sigh, as she walked around still holding the crying baby. "It's going to be okay, you're going to be okay." She tried to reassure her daughter, even though it wasn't much use.
A few minutes later, Sam came in the front door. He walked over to Haley, taking Daphne from her, and suddenly she stopped crying.
"What the heck?" Haley muttered, under her breath, restraining herself from crying.
"Yeah. It's okay D." Sam said as Daphne's little tears rolled down her cheeks. "I'll put her to bed." Sam said, smiling sadly at Haley, who nodded, looking away to wipe her frustrated tears.
--
Haley sat on the bed, as Sam entered a few minutes later.
"Hey, baby, are you doing okay?" He asked, when he sat next to her. He looked at her, waiting for an answer.
"Did I do something wrong? I mean I tried everything that the website recommended was safe..." Haley spoke after a while, as Sam continued to listen to her. She continued her rant. "I just feel like...I-I did something wrong, and of course I blame myself...why wouldn't I? It's kind of what I'm good at nowadays....I'm such a horrible mom..." Haley trailed off, breaking down as she cried.
"Hey, Hey.." Sam said, bringing her into his arms, and letting her cry into his chest.
"You aren't a bad mom. I don't know where you're getting that from, but you aren't. You're the opposite. This doesn't define you, it's just been a bad day." He whispered, as she slowly began calming down.
"Well, I mean, apparently nothing I did tonight worked, until you were around." Haley pointed out. "I guess I just feel alone, a lot of the time. I'm not underestimating everything you do. I just feel alone, since I'm home a lot by myself." Haley sniffled, as Sam sent her a sad smile.
"I can request a few weeks off. Would that be any consolation?" He asked, as he chuckled as her face lit up.

"Yeah, that would actually. It would be good." She smiled back.
"Good we have that sorted." He smiled, as he leaned down to press his lips to hers.
"I love you Hay, so much." He said after they pulled away.
"I love you too Sam, so much." Haley sighed as she leaned against him, falling asleep, rather fast.
He watched her sleep fondly, before he fell asleep soon after.
------
McKinley was turning into an arts school, and of course, all the Glee Club alumni had come back to help open the school officially.
Haley smiled as she held Daphne in her arms, as she chatted with her friends, by the piano.
"Here he is!" Rachel announced over the chatter, as Mr. Schue walked in. He had been given the job of being principal, and no one was more thrilled.
"Uh-wow. I have to say that this is the most exciting first day of Glee Club that we've ever had. No offense to the Glee Club alumni who've been here from the very beginning. Alright, everybody, please take a seat." Mr. Schue said.
"So, Mr. Schue, when are you gonna start auditions?" Mercedes asked, with a smile.
"Yeah, I think you're gonna have trouble sticking to your whoever wants in gets in rule." Kurt chuckled.
"Not true, actually Mr. Hummel. The New Directions will be only one of the Glee Clubs at this school. I'm bringing back the TroubleTones and starting an all-boys version called the Duly Noted. And we're also gonna have a Junior Varsity Squad for those who feel like they need a little seasoning before the big time."
"Wait, so how are you gonna teach all those Glee Clubs and run a school?" Tina asked.
"I'm not. I'm actually not coaching any of them."
"Not even the New Directions?" Artie asked. You could hear sadness in his voice.
"I've interviewed a candidate for that particular job that I really like." Mr. Schue answered, as Haley smiled, as she leaned into Sam's arms.
"But until then, I wanted to say farewell to you all with a song that I've prepared for this occasion. My life changed, because of all the magic we created in this room. And if I've learnt one thing, it's the message of the lyrics in this song. This is for you guys."
{TEACH YOUR CHILDREN}
----
Haley sat with Sam in the boys locker room with Daphne on her lap, as they watched him clean things up. He really just enjoyed having his wife and daughter keep him company.
"Hey, what are you guys doing?" Blaine asked as he walked in.
"Oh, just a little inventory." Sam smiled, as he showed him one of the footballs he was pumping. "We gotta do it before we sell all this stuff. I mean, all these balls are under one PSI so they're basically useless unless we fill them up to twelve point five."
"And Daph and I are just here to keep him company." Haley smiled.
"So considering that you're both gonna be unemployed somewhat soon, I was wondering if you'd given any thought to maybe moving back to New York? We have a spare room. It's kinda small, but there would be enough room for the three of you." Blaine said, as Haley and Sam looked at each other, before speaking up.

:Look, Blaine, we've talked about this plenty of times. New York just isn't for us, it's too fast and busy and loud. Not the best place to raise kids, at the moment." Haley began.
"And there are too many sports teams so I get confused on which one I'm meant to root for." Sam added.
"We just root for whoever's winning." Blaine shrugged.
Sam looked down and laughed quietly. "Okay that sounds like something Kurt would say."
"That's what happens when you get married." Blaine raised his shoulders, as he spoke.
"He's not wrong." Haley muttered.
"Look dude, we know you miss us, and we miss you too, man." Sam said as he stood up.
"But we're happy here, for now. Genuinely happy. Haley and I have each other and Daphne, and you guys on the phone, and that's all that matters to me right now, you know?" Sam explained. "This is home."
"I just don't want you to waste all of your talents." Blaine said.
"Well....we have other things that we use our talents for." Haley said.
"Like my new job." Sam announced, as Haley grinned, taking his hand in hers, as Blaine followed the couple.
They found themselves watching Mr. Schue in the choir room, as he introduced the newests members of the New Directions. "Now I would like to introduce you all to your new teacher, Mr. Sam Evans!"
Blaine's jaw dropped when they entered the choir room. "Wait, hold on. You're taking over the Glee Club?"
"Jealous?" Sam as, as Blaine nodded.
"I could not be more proud to pass the baton onto you." Mr. Schue said, handing Sam his whiteboard pen.
"Go get em' baby." Haley cheered, as she gave him a quick kiss, making both of them smile, before he walked forward to start off the first lesson.
"So I've been thinking a lot about this first week's lesson. This week, your assignment is country!" Sam announced.
"Uh-oh." Blain mumbled as Sam scribbled the word 'country' on the whiteboard.
"No, no, let's see where he goes with this." Haley said smiling.
"Wait, so if he's coaching New Directions, then what are you doing?" Blaine asked Haley.
"I'm taking over Trouble Tones. I'll have Santana come help me every few weeks. I'm quite excited." Haley smiled.
"I'm so happy and proud of both of you." Blaine smiled, as they continued to listen to Sam talking about country music.
-----
2020
Haley and Sam's daughter Daphne was 5 years old, and was very much a daddy's girl. She had Haley's angst, brashness, wit, strength, and honesty. She also had Sam's sense of humour and passion for music. They also had a two year old son, Arlo Finn Evans, who was born in January 2018. He was a mama's boy and had Sam's loving and caring nature, basically inheriting Sam's personality. Haley and Sam were content and were in their 6th year of marriage, and it was going strong.
Rachel was back on Broadway and had thrived in her second chance at NYADA. She was also nominated for a Tony award, which is why Haley and Sam were at Mr. Schue's house.
"It's about to start!" Haley called as Sam calmed the kids down before going to sit next to her.
"Ladies and gentlemen, presenting the award for best actress in a musical, please welcome Broadway's very own, Andrew rannells!" The voice on the TV said. "The nominees are Maggie Smith in Miss Jean Brodie's Second Prime, Willow Smith in Cabaret, Anne Hathaway in her one woman show Anne! Exclamation point and Rachel Berry in Jane Austin Sings!"
"And the Tony goes to... Rachel Berry in Jane Austin Sings!"
Everyone clapped, and cheered loudly.
Haley smiled, as she teared up. "That's our girl!" She cheered, wiping her tears with a tissue that Sue offered her.
"Thank you. Oh my gosh, I want to thank my amazing husband and director Jesse and I want to thank my two dads for all those singing and dancing lessons. Okay, I want to thank Carmen Tibideaux for giving me a second chance at my degree and to all of my friends at McKinley high. But I want to dedicate this award to the person who's responsible for getting me on this stage tonight and that is Mr. Will Schuester. Mr. Schue always taught to my strengths and not my weaknesses. He cheered the loudest when I soared and picked me up when I was in millions of pieces. He taught me one great thing that all teachers do, and there are so many of them out there, and that is being a part of something doesn't make you special. Something is special because you are a part of it. Mr. Schue, I love you so much and to all the boys and girls out there, I just want to say quickly before I walk off the stage that dreams really do come true. So, thank you."
Haley let herself cry quietly, noticing Mr. Schue was just as emotional. She took a minute to look up knowing that Finn was definitely cheering Rachel on the loudest of them all. She was snapped out of her trance when Sam grabbed her hand, and Daphne hugged her. "Don't cry mom." She frowned, as Haley laughed softly. "I'm not crying, honey, I'm just happy." She assured her daughter.
-----
As the New Directions finished their rendition of I Lived, they let their heads down. They had all gathered there that day because Sue, the Vice President of the United States, had come to McKinley to rename the auditorium.
The Finn Hudson Auditorium.
Everyone celebrated and didn't feel the need to be loud, but take a moment to think about their accomplishments, and where their careers were now. Some of them met their best friends or found the love of their life in this club, and it was very special and bittersweet.
They smiled. Every one of them. The group could be apart for weeks, or months, or even a year. Yet when they would visit with each other, it was like old times. Everyone was easy to talk to, everyone loved each other, it was one big family.
Nothing felt forced, and every memory was cherished. They knew that they would be close for years to come.

Yin-Yang
Mages in North America seem to have it all – typically from well-off families, and able to manipulate their environment in ways most of the world would never believe. They don’t even have to bother with the mundane details of life like housework, thanks to their sensitives, who also make a useful source for extra magical energy. After all, sensitives have no use for it themselves, and if mages weren’t meant to make use of it, then the sensitives would obviously have some way to prevent that. That a mage can transform a sensitive physically, with no restrictions beyond overall mass and basic biological viability, whereas magic tends not to work directly on any other living thing, is only further proof. And look at the way they live on their own, barely a step above animals. It’s better for them to belong to a mage. Sensitives in North America live on the edge of society and survival – typically so paranoid they avoid hospitals and anything else that could lead to being tracked, many of them with little or no education and no legal identity or existence. Mages exist, and mages want sensitives for some reason, but no one ever comes back to explain what that reason is. Waiting every day for the hunters to notice them doesn’t lead to much motivation or hope for the future. And once they’re captured, they’re the property of someone with a terrifying amount of power over them. Anything is better than capture. Mages are born to be the masters, and sensitives are born victims. Or are they? Jax’s life is turned upside-down when he’s caught by the hunters and sold to a mage. Andreas is still mourning for his previous sensitive, though, unconsciously creating a difficult standard for Jax to live up to, all the more so while still struggling to come to terms with this new reality as Andreas’ sensitive. A runaway sensitive isn’t what Van expects at the mental health centre. Is this a hunter trap, set for him and the rest of the Donovan family by the hunters? The hunters would, after all, love to see them cross the line openly and finally do something they can be charged with. Either way, Miranda’s genuinely in trouble, and he can’t just abandon her to it. Snatching a sensitive out from under the hunters and hiding her is odd behaviour for a mage – but then, Catherine is an odd mage, living in disgrace in the old servants’ quarters of her grandmother’s house, responsible for cooking and housework. Lila owes Catherine her freedom; is there a way to help Catherine achieve her own, and at what price? Tension is building between traditionally-minded mages and those advocating change, and something has to break. *** Yin-Yang includes a small amount of profanity and no graphic sex or on-screen physical violence. However, sex and gender roles and relationships within the mage/sensitive subculture are non-traditional in mainstream North American terms. The key criterion in a primary relationship is not relative sex or gender, but the pairing of mage and sensitive; given the transformation of sensitives by their mages, physical sex is non-absolute for a sensitive, and gender identity can vary as in anyone else. *** *** The way mages treat sensitives is extremely varied and, in some cases is outright abusive. The struggle against that is pretty much the point of the book. It is NOT grimdark or misery-porn! However, if you will be triggered by this, please, don't read Yin-Yang! *** Complete stand-alone novel, 153K words! Also available on Scribble Hub and as a free ebook.
