"Haley, you know you should be resting." Satana said from the kitchen, as Haley was folding clothes in the living room.

"Oh no, I can't, my due date was yesterday, and I need to distract myself." Haley argued.

"You shouldn't be working." Santana protested again. "Have you got any contractions."

"No..Ohhhhh." Haley said trying to cover her contraction up with a fake laugh.

"Did you just get one?" Santana asked, raising an eyebrow. "Because if you get one in the next five minutes, we're taking you to the hospital."

"Yeah, yeah." Haley waved her hand.

It hadn't been too long until she got another one. "I'm doing just fineeee, oh my god." She gasped, her face showed Santana she was in pain.

"Okay that's it, we're taking you to the hospital." Santana said, grabbing the hospital bag and forcing Haley gently out the door, despite her protests.

"Call Sam, okay?" Haley asked, as she groaned, when another contraction hit her.

"Don't worry, I texted."

"No...CALL HIM nowwwww." Haley gritted her teeth as another contraction hit. "I can't do this without him."

"Hay, shhh. It's going to be just fine. He's going to be there, I'll be there. It's all going to result in meeting your daughter. She's going to be beautiful." Santana whispered, reassuringly.

----

Once they had gotten settled in the room, she wasn't even fully dilated yet.

"You know, I frickin just want to go home. I'm only 40% dilated, and it's been an hour." Haley complained.

"Hey, it's going to be okay. Give it patience and time." Santana calmed her down.

After a few more contractions, and 2 hours, she was 90% dilated.

Haley was literally having a panic attack.

"Santana, where's Sam? I need him here otherwise I can't do this!" She said, grunting from another contraction.

"He's on his way. Just try to take deep breaths." Santana replied holding Haley's hand which she squeezed really tight.

"Where the hell is he?!" Haley grunted.

Just as Haley was getting closer to giving birth, Sam ran into the room.

"Thank god you're here, Trouts." Santana said. "She wanted you, and she's had a panic attack."

"I got here as fast as I could." Sam replied, as he held onto Haley's hand and got her to look at him, while Santana dabbed a wet cloth over her head.

"I don't think I can do this." She cried out, in pain, and merely because she was getting terrified.

"Hay, listen to me, listen to me." He said as he leaned his forehead against hers, letting their noses touch, as she cried as quietly as she could. "You can do this. The worst part is almost over, and you are doing so well. You are so strong, and I know you feel done, but think about getting to meet our daughter in a few minutes. Think about the joy we're going to feel, and the love that's going to radiate throughout this room, and from her family. You don't need to be terrified, I believe in you, and Santana believes in you. We're proud of you and how you've carried on through these 9 months of pregnancy. You can do this, we aren't going anywhere. Okay?"

"Yeah, okay...but damn you! I'm never letting you touch me again" She said as another contraction hit.

"Trouts, know whatever hate comes out, she doesn't mean it."

"I know..Well, whatever, I'll always still love you." He chuckled, as Santana laughed.

"I'm freaking serious!" Haley argued.

"Haley are you ready?" The doctor asked, as Haley nodded. "Okay you guys can hold her hands, and Haley, when you feel another contraction, push as soon as you get one. It's going to be over before you know it."

Haley looked up at Sam and Santana who smiled at her, as they helped her lay down and whispered words of encouragement before she pushed on the next contraction.

-----

Although there were tears, shouts of profanities and some screams of pain, Haley had finally given birth, and she was so tired, but relieved. She didn't know that one little human being could change everything.

Haley was unable to look at her baby girl without crying happy tears. When Sam left to go get food, she got to spend some time alone with her daughter.

"Daphne Jewel, I love you so much." She began, as she smiled and wiped her tears. "You're already the second light in my life, and I promise I'm going to be the mom I wished I had growing up. I'm going to treat you how I wish I was treated. I promise I won't disappoint. And if you manage to ever get mad at me, know that I'm trying to protect you. It's for the utter best. I just feel so honored and grateful that I get to raise you. You're dad and I loved you the minute we found out about you, and we love you even more, as the hours progress. I will always be here for you, every step of the way. Dad will be here too. He's an amazing and generously loyal man, whom I've had the fortunity of loving for the past six years. I wouldn't be here without him. He's going to love you so much, he already has for the past nine months. You have amazing parents, and you have an even bigger group of people who are going to spoil you. They'll also love and accept you...We will love you no matter the circumstance. We will accept you for who you are, and we will be here for all your big moments. Mommy is going to be the one enforcing the rules, a majority of the time, so you'll be safe. I want you to know, that you can come talk to me about anything, no topic or question is stupid. But believe me, if you would've told me 10 years ago, at the age of 10 that I'd be married almost a year, and holding my first born, I would've been so pathetic. I would've laughed and refused to believe whoever told me, that insane prophecy..but look where I am now. What a gift. I'm just...I don't know what else to say... other than, I'm here, and I'm going to love you forever. That's a promise that will never be broken."

Haley wiped her tears, as she finished speaking to Daphne. Just as she had finished speaking, Sam walked into the room, smiling. He sat down next to Haley, slipping his arm around her, and smiling fondly at Daphne.

"I love you so much." Sam spoke up after a few minutes.

Haley looked up to see Sam smiling at her. "I love you too." She whispered back, scared to wake Daphne up again.

"I didn't think that it could be possible to love you more than I have these past six years. Yet, after you brought our daughter into the world a few hours ago, I love you even more. I love you even more than it's probably possible to love someone. I'm always going to love you. I'm so proud of you Hay. You are so strong and have endured so much." Sam said stroking her hair, as Haley wiped her tears.

Not wanting to ruin the perfect moment, Haley just smiled, as Sam leaned down, pressing his lips to hers, enjoying their moment.

After some arguments of who got to hold the baby, Sam won. He picked Daphne up, as Haley fell asleep. She was tired out, and she wanted rest before the whole group visited.

"My little Daphne." Sam began. "I'm pretty sure, mom gave you a heartfelt speech awhile ago, but I want to give you one too. I can't believe you're finally here, laying in my arms as I speak. I've waited nine months to meet you and here you are. You are going to be awesome, yet a little mischievous. I can tell right now as we speak. I love you so much, and I'll always love you. I want you to know right now, that you are full of greatness, you never have to prove yourself to your mom or me, or anyone. You are allowed to love who you want, we won't judge, because we will love and accept you no matter who you become. Even if you fight with me or your mom, we are still going to love you, and we will be supportive and loyally encouraging. We will always be here no matter what. You can talk to both mom or I, and we will listen. Like I've protected your mom the past few years, I have you to protect now too. Thank you for letting me be your dad. It's one of the greatest gifts I've ever been blessed with, aside from your mom of course...but I'm going to do my best to be the best dad you could ask for, just as your mom is going to do her best to be the best mom out there. That's a promise I'll never break, okay?" Sam asked, as Daphne moved her tiny body a bit, and smiled, at no one in particular.

"Well you have your mom's smile." Sam said, as he wiped away his tears. "I'm going to let you sleep now okay?" He asked, putting her gently in the crib.

After that, he went over to Haley who was asleep, and kiss her forehead, and brushed some of the stray hairs out of her face.

"I'm so proud of you Hay, and I love you." He whispered, before he went to sit down and sleep in the armchair beside her bed.

-----

Later on, Haley and Sam sat holding Daphne, just chatting and enjoying some calm moments with their daughter. Santana knocked, peeking here head in.

"Hey guys." She smiled at the couple and their daughter. "Some lovely people want to come in and see Daphne. Is that okay?"

"Yes, tell them to come in." Haley replied, with a smile on her face.

Soon the whole group of New Directions had come in.

Santana got first dibs on Daphne, since she was the godmother. She passed her onto Blaine, because he was the godfather.

"I'm going to cry, out of pure happiness." Tina said, as she wiped her tears.

"How are you feeling Hay?" Quinn asked.

"Honestly tired, but really really happy." Haley smiled.

"You still look amazing, despite the past day." Blaine commented.

"So tell us." Artie began.

"What's her name!?" Kitty asked.

"Daphne Jewel Evans." Sam answered, as Haley giggled.

"That's so beautiful, and has a lovely ring to it." Marley grinned.

"She's beautiful." Kurt said.

"And she's going to be hella spoiled." Santana said, making everyone laugh quietly.

"Did a stork bring her?" Brittany asked.

"Not exactly Britt." Haley laughed.

"She has your smile, and your face." Unique pointed out.

"She has Sam's eyes and his blonde hair, even though it's dyed right now." Jake smiled.

"Equally resembles both her parents. We can only wonder if she'll inherit both personalities..." Puck added.

"It's going to be a journey, but I'm here for the long haul." Haley smiled, as she leaned in towards Sam.

"I'm here for it. Always." Sam smiled down at Haley, pressing his lips to hers.

"I for one, can't wait to witness her grow up." Quinn commented.

"You guys are already perfect parents. Well perfectly imperfect." Rachel added. "No one's perfect, but she has the most wonderful parents."

"I can only think that Finn would've really loved her." Brittany said, smiling, as everyone nodded in agreement.

"God...I'm crying." Artie chuckled, as he joined everyone else crying.

"Join the bunch." Tina choked through her tears.

The whole group laughed, and celebrated the new addition. Each and every one of them being excited for what the future held for all for all of them, including Haley and Sam and Daphne Jewel Evans.
