《Accidentally Adopted by iBallisticSquid》Insomnia

Izzy's PoV:
"Okay. You ready?" Mitch asked me. I nodded. It was 1:00 in the morning and we were in my room preparing to go to Insomnia. Mitch had grabbed the food and the tickets in secret so no one noticed. Flo was going to cover for us as much as possible by saying that she thought that me and Mitch had gone for a walk, but in the end they would eventually find out where we were. This meant that we would have to find Squid as quickly as possible.
We were soon ready; we had our food, tickets and the rest of our money (which wasn't much) packed. Now we had to get to the arena in Coventry.
We walked down the stairs and out through the door, being careful to close it quietly, Flo would lock it after I texted her to say that we were in a taxi.
As me and Mitch walked down the drive and out onto the road, I remembered doing this for the first time with Flo. That had led to the best thing that has ever happened to me, as well as some of the worst but I couldn't leave Squid now, not after everything that had happened to me and how much he had helped.
We got out of town where we called a taxi to take us to Coventry. It took about 40 minutes to get there, we had asked him to take us the corner of a road where we said that our parents were in the hotel on that road. When actually we would walk down the road and find a place to stay on the streets. As much as we didn't want to do that, it was too risky as people could easily find out where we were if we stayed at a hotel.
We soon arrived at the road where we did as planned and we soon found ourselves walking down a street at 2am looking for a place to sleep.

"I'm sorry we have to sleep out here, it's not fair on you." I said sadly to Mitch.
"Don't worry about it! It's the least I can do after some of the stuff I have said to you." He replied. I gave him a half smile before pointing out a bridge that we could rest under. Mitch agreed that that was a good place so we sat down. Neither of us really wanted to sleep here so Mitch suggested that I get some sleep while he kept watch. Although I wanted to disagree I was really tired so I just closed my eyes and quickly fell asleep.
I woke up to Mitch shaking me. It was light so Mitch had clearly let me stay asleep till the morning.
"Come on we have to get going if we want to be there on time." Mitch said.
"You should've woken me up so you could've got some sleep!" I said annoyed at him.
"It's okay! Come on!" He seemed really excited about it.
"Okay, okay!" I said picking up my bag.
We started to walk in the general direction of the arena. We didn't know it's exact point so we kept to the roads as we could follow the signs telling us how to get there.
After about 30 minutes of walking we eventually made it to the arena. The doors were going to open at 10 which gave us a half hour to look around. We thought that we might be able to find Squid or someone around.
We started walking around the car park hoping that we would see someone although it was a long shot. But then something caught my eye, a bright white sports car about 3 rows away from us. I sprinted towards it checking the number plate, I recognised it. It was Squid's car, he was here, somewhere.
I started to cry as Mitch came up behind me.

"Hey, what's wrong?" Mitch said putting his arm around me. His voice was so soothing, I had never noticed that before.
"We are so close, this is his car. I'm just worried what's going to happen when we do find him." I sniffed.
"Don't worry about that, let's just focus in finding him." He replied. I nodded, as he wiped my eyes with his sleeve. He was so kind like that... wait what am I thinking!! I most definitely don't like him! He is 4 years older than me!! No definitely not!
After that we went and lined up with everyone else. Mitch got the tickets out and handed them over to the man. The ticket man checked them, nodded and have them back to us. We walked around the hall for a little bit. I wanted to go and see Squid's Q&A but Mitch said it would be too risky.
A bit later Mitch checked Twitter and found that 10 minutes ago Squid had tweeted out saying that he was doing a meet and greet with Ash and James. Me and Mitch rushed to the location of where he said they were doing it, there was a massive queue that would take ages to wait in. I looked to the end of the line, there was Ash, James and at the very end SQUID!!!! I couldn't control myself I screamed his name and started to sprint towards him.
Just as I saw him turn around two security guards grabbed me from behind stopping me from getting any closer. I looked at Squid, he looked really tired and drained. I saw him look at me and he started to sprint across to me.
"Izzy!! What are you doing here!?" Squid looked so surprised. The security guards let go of me and I flung my arms around Squid. He hugged me back and I told him everything.
"I'm going to have to call Julie to let her know that your here." He said to me. I nodded sadly.
After he had done so he told me that Julie had said that me and Mitch could stay with him for the weekend and then they would decide what was going to happen. I smiled, that was really cool.
"You two look really tired, there is no point protesting as I am taking you back to my hotel room and you are going to bed!" Squid said. I wanted to protest but I looked over at Mitch and he looked pretty much like a living zombie. We followed Squid to his car where we got in and he drove to the hotel. By the time we had got the Mitch had already fallen asleep, we didn't want to wake him up so Squid picked him up and we walked into the hotel.
Eventually we got to the room where Squid put Mitch on one side of the bed and I climbed onto the other, thankfully it was a double bed.
"I will be back at 5pm, get some rest." Squid said walking out. I nodded and closed my eyes.
I heard the doors close, I heard movement behind me, Mitch was moving closer to me. I could soon feel his warm breath down the back of my neck. I didn't move, I was wondering what he was going to do. I felt his arms snake round my body before he turned me round to face him.
"I know your only 13 but I really like you."
"I like you too." I replied.
I smiled to myself, closed my eyes and I fell asleep.

The Shape of Home
The world of Alvelotyl is one of fantasy, one filled with many races, an expansive magic system exploring themes of identity, some LitRPG elements, moral ambiguity and no small amount of magical inventions similar to those in our world. Dragons with blogs showing off their hoards of treasure live alongside [Hunters] chasing Giant Toads, or [Bandits] using rifles charged with Fire Magic. The Shape of Home is a story within this world, and follows the exploits of Yuri Scalesmith, a budding Lizardfolk adventurer from a small country town with a knack for inventing, and how her life drastically changes after she’s taken from home forever following a single catastrophic event. After being taken from her previously normal life, Yuri is thrust into a world of sprawling streets, magically mutated monsters, and a crime war for territory stretching across an entire city. The Shape of Home normally updates every Tuesday and Saturday at 6PM GMT, but I'm trying out different upload times to see how people react and attract others in differing timezones. There will be two week long breaks after each story arc's Interlude. This story is also a participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge!
