Izzy's PoV:
I hated the care home. I had lived here for about a year now. The place itself was nice and most of the people were nice enough but it was just the idea of being a care kid that was the worst part.
Although I guess it was better now I had a friend. When I had arrived I had no friends. But about 6 months in a friend from my old school appeared. I had always known that she may go into care. She self-harmed, she had thought about committing suicide and her parents hated her. They called her horrible names and although sort of cared about her after they found out that she self-harmed they just didn't care. However I was so happy when Flo arrived, from then on I had a friend.
No one really knew about my story of how I got into care apart from me, my mum (who was now so unstable that she had forgotten or she just didn't want to tell anyone) and Flo who had promised not to say. Although she didn't know all of it.
Social services knew that my mum became unstable and when I was 5 my dad walked out and a body was found that is thought to be his. However, that wasn't all. Only I knew that.
I was loosing sleep. I would get about 4 hours sleep on a good night due to nightmares. The last night was the worst. I had the worst nightmares I had had in ages. I woke up screaming and crying, it was horrible. It was so loud the care worker, Adam, came to see if I was alright.
I went down to breakfast the next morning and sat down opposite Flo. A boy, with dark brown hair and a bit older than me named Mitch was sitting a couple of seats down. He looked at me and sniggered,

"You look tired, Izz. Did you have a bad nights sleep. I heard someone screaming. Did you hear that too? It sounded like a wimp to me."
He knew that it was me who screamed, he was taking the mick as he always did. I got up and pulled Mitch's chair backwards so he fell off it. He let out a yelp of pain.
"Who's the wimp now," I said storming out of the room.
"Izz, calm down. I hate this place as much as you do," Flo must have followed me out.
"I wish we could just get out of this place," I complained to Flo.
"Well, we could always just leave." Flo said quietly. "Meet in my room 2:00am with a rucksack with food, water and money." Flo nodded. I couldn't wait to get out of this dump.
