Alphas/Deltas like to scent what is theirs may it be their friends, stuff, or family, but especially their mates and if they smell anything like another alpha it will frustrate them. An alpha's scent can stay on something or someone without other alpha interference for about a week at most. Alphas do a low growl instead of purring like other sub-genders. An alpha usually presents through having their first rut that happens from 14-16 on average but the latest an alpha can get their first rut is at age 20. Ruts for an unmated alpha usually take place once in every three months. Once mated an alpha has them once per two months if mated to another alpha or beta. But if their mate is an omega then they sync up to their mate's heat cycle causing them to have their rut once a month. Ruts usually take place from 2-3 days for an unmated alpha while a mated one can have them 4-5 days. Rut suppressants are an option but they're not that popular since an alpha/delta can still go about their day outside during their rut since it doesn't cause anything like a 'heat haze' just constant horniness essentially. Alphas can form knots. Only females can get pregnant, and it can be very difficult for that to happen.

Ruts usually take place from 2-3 days for an unmated delta while a mated one can have them 3-4 days. Ruts are not as strong as an alphas and an omega's/gamma's heat doesn't trigger them into a rut like alphas. This makes it harder for their ruts to sync up with their mate's (omega's/gamma's) heat. Rut suppressants are an option but they're not that popular since an alpha/delta can still go about their day outside during their rut since it doesn't cause anything like a 'heat haze' just constant horniness essentially. Deltas cannot form knots. Only females can get pregnant.

Sadly, there's not much to say about betas since they're like normal people; they don't get heats or ruts. Anything they scent can last for 2-3 days at most without other sub-gender's interference. They do have the ability to calm down other sub-genders with they're relaxing scents, as well as sooth other sub-genders when they're in ruts or heats Betas can purr to calm an argument or person. Deltas and Betas are the only ones who can purr on command. Only females can get pregnant.

Gammas (being rare and all) have strong healing powers, like a mated omega. When mated they can fully heal 2-3 people at the same time, or transfer injuries onto themselves (but this is not advised). Gammas do like to scent they're belongings, friends, stuff in their nests, and/or family, but especially their mates and pups. A gamma's scent can stay on something or someone without other sub-gender's interference for 4 days at most. Gammas purr when they're happy and content. They can also purr to calm others. Gamma heats don't send alphas into ruts like omegas but they do send out a sweet scent that makes them a bit horny. The gamma themselves will become horny but not to a desperate degree like omegas. Heats come every six months. The only down side is that they last for two weeks, but once mated they last for one week. When an omega/gamma is coming up on a heat, they start eating, like, everything. Need energy for that business! They'll also start fussing with their nest more than usual and can become irritable, snapping at their mate until they're in the heat proper. Other omegas/gammas become extra clingy during this time though, so it depends on the individual really. Males and females can get pregnant, but it is harder for males. Their heats may not trigger a rut since it's weaker than an omega's.

Healing powers get stronger when mated; they can heal their mates from anything or transfer injury onto themselves Omegas do like to scent they're belongings, friends, stuff in their nests, and/or family, but especially their mates and pups. An omega's scent can stay on something or someone without other sub-gender's interference for about a week at most. Omegas purr when they're happy and content. They can also purr when they're in pain as a form of self-comfort. Heats come every three months and last for a week. When mated they happen every other month for 4-6 days. When an omega/gamma is coming up on a heat, they start eating, like, everything. Need energy for that business! They'll also start fussing with their nest more than usual and can become irritable, snapping at their mate until they're in the heat proper. Other omegas/gammas become extra clingy during this time though, so it depends on the individual really. Heats may trigger a rut and vice-versa, but typically in that case the omegas are more high energy than the alphas. Males and females can easily get pregnant.

These are traits and ideas that I decided to put into the story. I won't explain each of them in super detail, but instead generalize them and any details needed for the story.

· This is what drives the story and conflict mainly. A person's soulmate is someone who is the perfect match, mentally, sexually and emotionally. The inner wolves in each person will be extremely attracted to each other. A person can choose to ignore these feelings but it will be very difficult unless they reject the soulmate. If rejected the bond will suffer and both sides will feel a bit empty inside. In rare cases things can get violent between the two or one can die from depression.

When someone turns eighteen, they are able to sniff out their soulmate. However, if the soulmate is not in the area (say as big as a city or town as far as boundaries wise) then nothing will happen and they can continue life normally. Most pairings wait till they're both 18 before marking each other, however some do rush into it in the heat of the moment (especially during heats/ruts). There are some who even choose to not tell the other person that they're soulmates until they are 18 too. Most people never find their soulmate and just mate with someone they fall in love with instead.

· The main Alpha in charge and the most powerful. They are faster, stronger, more agile, and bigger than other alphas in their wolf form Their strength and agility are also applied to their human form, but height may vary. They are the only ones able to use the alpha voice, which can command other to do things instantly. The head alpha's responsibilities fall under: being a strong but fair leader, protecting the pack, enforcing pack rules, communicating with other allied packs, dealing with invading packs and/or rogues, and many more. In order for an heir to become the next head alpha fully they need to: be an alpha (obviously), be 18 or older, and have a Luna that they are mated to.

· This is the mate to the head alpha, and just like a queen to a king, they help lead and watch over the pack. It's preferable that the Luna is kind and nurturing since they will be talking to those in the pack on a more individual level than the head alpha. However, they can also be tough and cut throat too, basically whatever characteristics the head alpha lacks the Luna should be able to make up for so there is a perfect balance in the way that the duo handles things. It is preferable that the Luna is also 18 or older before being mated with the next head alpha since they will be fully developed by then. The Luna's responsibilities fall under: being a strong but fair leader, protecting the pack, helping pack members with their problems/checking up on them, enforcing pack rules, communicating with other allied packs, being a "motherly figure", and many more.

· I only recently saw the mention of these sub-genders but I thought it could be interesting to try and write about them. What each story there are different things that each one can do, so I'll try to explain everything they can do in my version.

· Nests function as a comfortable place where omegas, gammas, and even betas can spend their time relaxing and recharging. The most common items to be found in a nest are sheets, blankets, pillows, towels, and items of clothing that have been worn by people close to them. Omegas/Gammas nest during heats to help give themselves some sort of comfort during that time of the month.

· These wolves don't belong to a pack or they were kicked out of a pack. There are a few rogues who usually don't cause trouble and just go about their business, trying to not step into pack territories. However, most of the time they'll trespass wherever for food or try to attack pack members for revenge. Things can get more dangerous when rogues start to form into groups and even their own "packs" to have leverage in numbers. Most of the time these "packs" fall apart from lack of trust between the rogues in them, however if a strong enough leader is running it then they can become a force to be reckoned with.

· Basically, the equivalent of spraying your favorite perfume or cologne on something so that it smells like you. Only instead of perfume or cologne, it's your natural body scent.

· Scent glands are where these fragrant, pheromone-filled oils are produced the most. No, they aren't some weird bulging lumps in their skin, they're more hidden like a women's Adam's apple. Locations include: neck, wrists, and inner thigh.

· During heat, it's when an omega/gamma is most fertile. They get very warm, become really horny, and produce a lot of slick(a self-made lubricant). Depending on the sub-gender, heats can last from days to weeks. If unmated, they will spend these days alone in their nest and, if they have any, use toys to help them through the heat. During heats more pheromones are released making the omega's/gamma's scent stronger.

· Ruts are like heats but removing the warmness and slick production. It's a couple of days full of being on edge with horniness and agitation. And just like during heats more pheromones are released making the alpha's/delta's scent stronger.

· A mass at the base of a alphas penis that locks them together with their mate to ensure pregnancy. Only alphas have knots.
