《INVITE ME ROUND》Chapter 1

"Do you like these trousers?"

"Just look at my fat ass. Those pants are way too tight, aren't they?"

"Where's the black thong gone? Could I get an answer? Are these pants too tight?"

Stuffing some things into your backpack, you tried to block out the voices of your roommate Scarlett and her friend Sophie.

"Erm...guys?" you said softly, approaching the door.

The two girls' voices drowned out yours.

You smiled because you knew there they were too busy choosing their outfits for the party in the evening.

"I'm leaving now..." you said a little louder.

The two didn't seem to notice you.

You cleared your throat loudly, trying to draw attention to yourself.

The girls startled and turned to look at you with startled expressions on their faces.

"I'm leaving," you smiled again, looking down at your pocket watch.

"I'm really late. Erm, Scarlett, please don't drink too much. Sophie, make sure Scarlett doesn't drink too much." You said the same words you used to say everytime before the two girls went to a party.

They averted their eyes from you in disinterest, and looked back down at the bed, on which there was a pile of clothes, in all sorts of colors.

"Good," you shrugged before opening the door, hearing the high-pitched squeak of Scarlett's voice.

"Wait!" She left Scarlett alone with the clothes and joined you in the hallway before closing the door.

You look her up and down skeptically.

"Are you worried that Logan is going after her again? Don't worry. He forgot about her long ago.

I already told you he's all yours."

"Yes, of course he is," Sophie replies, annoyed, trying to keep up your pace as she runs after you.

Your eyes met Sophie's roommate and you gave her a loving smile.

"Speaking of the devil," Sophie stopped, glaring at her roommate.

"Listen, I'm meeting Gabriel in the library, and I'm really late.

So if you'll excuse me..."

"Are you okay with switching rooms?" You saw Sophie's roommate disappear around the corner.

"What?" you asked in surprise.

"I know you love your room.

And you have Scarlett. See and that's the problem." Sophie explained hurriedly, fidgeting with her fingers nervously.

"I see no problem with that, Sophie," you ran down the stairs.

"No, wait." Sophie caught up with you and stood in front of you.

"Scarlett is my best friend. And I just don't get along with Harmony. She's...she's just so boring...

But I think you two could be good friends." Sophie grinned and tugged at her tight top.

"Are you saying that I'm boring?" Your laughter didn't stop while you were already walking down the next stairs.

"No no no. Absolutely not.

Can you please just say yes? You don't care about Scarlett anyway, do you?" she asked desperately.

"Sophie, I can't decide that spontaneously. At least give me time to think, will you?" She hugged you.

"Thank you Y/n, you are the greatest!"

"Hey, I haven't said yes yet," you warned, grinning, and finally hung her up.

"So that's it then, ladies."

"Are you really ok if I take this closet for myself?" you asked Harmony, your new roommate, for exactly a minute.

She nodded, not taking her eyes off your top, which was way too big.

"Thanks Gabriel, we couldn't have done this without you," you said, giving your best friend a hug after he helped you move your items to your new room.

You heard someone clear their throat behind you and turned around.

"Right. Mom, Dad, glad you were there." You smiled, looking at your parents.

"Aren't you going to pick up your books from college, sweetheart?" your mother asked lovingly while you were amazed at the dark circles under her eyes.

She was definitely working too much and she had hardly taken any time for herself.

"Erm...I'll just walk. You can go home." You grabbed your bag off the bed, checking to see if your phone was in it.

"Honey that's a half hour walk. We'll drive you," your father replied, wrapping his hand around your mother's waist.

"Do you perhaps have something against it if I come with you? I have to catch up on an exam that I missed.", Gabriel intervened hesitantly.

You could still remember exactly how he felt when his friend Sebastian broke up with him.

He even missed his exam.

"Sure," you gave your mother a smile before turning to face Harmony.

"Shall we take you with us too?" you asked in a calm, polite tone.

You didn't know Harmony well.

Every once in a while you've bumped into each other in the hallways or crossed paths in college. You didn't do anything other than give her a friendly smile.

"Thanks, I'll stay here," she replied.

***

"Goodbye, I love you," you hugged your parents, hoping you'd see each other again soon.

"We're eating at Taco Bell on Friday, don't forget that," your father winked.

You gave the thumbs up before making your way inside with Gabriel.

***

"Have you got everything?" Gabriel asked, biting his nails restlessly.

"Don't worry, you can do this.

You know you can do this. Clever your brain," you encouraged him, watching the front door.

A tall young teacher came towards you.

"You have to go," whispered Gabriel. You could see the nervousness right on his face.

"Good luck!" You waved your hands and made your way to the exit.

Holding the countless books in your arms, you wandered around the college building past the parking lot.

You tried to hold everything in your arms and not let go of anything.

Your gaze wandered to a black-painted convertible that you had never seen in this parking lot before.

Actually you didn't care which cars and whose cars were parked there.

But this car was different.

It was gloomy.

Looking through the pane, you saw a slim figure.

But when your eyes caught those dark, tired eyes staring at you as if they were looking deep into your soul, and for just a brief moment the moment felt like an endless span of time, all your school books fell to the ground.

You jerked and bent down to collect the books.

When you looked curiously back at the car, there was no one inside anymore.

Confused by your delusions, you made your way back to campus.
