This chapter has been slightly changed.
Izzy's PoV:
Squid and I had reached Flo's room. She was sitting on the bed answering questions from the doctor about if it still hurt etc, so we decided to stay back.
Stampy was sat on the chair next to her bed, when he saw us come in he got up and came over to us.
"Squid I think you should talk to the doctor. You've been around Flo more so you will be able to say more." Stampy said. Squid nodded and went to sit next to Flo, while Stampy lent against the wall next to me, taking Squid's place.
I suddenly had an idea, it was risky but I knew Sqaishey would never do it so I decided to take the risk.
"Um, Stamps?" I asked. He looked at me and nodded.
"You know Flo... well Sqaishey wants to adopt her." I said nervously.
Stampy just turned away from me and stared straight ahead.
Eventually he sighed and said, "I know. She told me last night."
I was shocked, I didn't think she would.
"But what do you want?" I questioned.
Stampy suddenly turned round and stared straight at me. I realised how tired he looked, he didn't look like he had had much sleep last night.
"I do want to adopt her, I really do! But I'm just scared, what if it doesn't work out and I end up hurting her more than she already is." He explained.
"It will work out. You already know her well and she trusts you, so that's an amazing start." I said.
"You think so?" He still looked unsure.
"I know so!" I pushed, "You should follow your gut."
He nodded and just looked at Flo.
5 minutes later Squid came up to us.

"She's been given the all clear! All she has to do is where a small ankle support for a few weeks!" Squid said happily.
"Great!" I said and rushed over to Flo to talk to her.
She looked so happy.
"Omg I can't wake to get out of here and run and run!" She laughed.
"I'll race you race you to the car when we get out of the building." I laughed as well, "Just make sure you don't get hit by another car!"
She pushed my shoulder but was laughing as well.
"Come on we can go now." Squid said coming up to us. Flo jumped off the bed and immediately fell over, luckily Squid was next to her and caught her before she could hurt herself anymore.
He helped her up and held her while she walked along. She started to get the hang of it and once we were in the hospital lobby she was practically running.
"Come on guys!" She shouted at us. Even though we got a few annoyed looked from people we ran after her anyway.
Those few seconds were perfect Flo was happy, Squid was happy, Stampy was happy that he was going to adopt Flo and I was happy knowing that. Everything seemed to be perfect. But then, as it always seems to in my life, it was ruined just as it has started.
A black Mercedes pulled up in the drop off point that we were running towards. Two men climbed out, Flo stopped running and so did I.
The first man started walking straight towards Flo, she started backing away.
The second man came towards me and grabbed me. I could see the first man had done the same to Flo. I was thrashing around trying to get out. Then Squid was there, he punched the man in the face, his grip loosened on me allowing Squid pulled me from his grasp.

The man came towards us again.
"IZZY! KEEP BEHIND ME." Squid yelled at me, as he pulled me to his back while he faced the man. However, the man didn't attack again, instead he ran towards Flo and the first man.
I saw Stampy sprint towards them and squid ran to join him, just as Squid reached the first man, the second leapt in between them and hit Squid in the face. I saw Squid's phone slid out of his pocket and across the ground as he fell over. I watched the first man grab Flo and push her into the car, closing the door. Then Stampy grabbed him from behind and pulled him to the ground.
The second man grabbed Stampy and pushed him towards Squid who was sprawled across the floor.
I watched as both men started to get in the car, suddenly I realised what I had to do. I sprinted towards Squid's phone, grabbing it and ran to the car park exit.
I knew I would get there before them as they had to go all the way around.
I made it to the exit and started climbing the tree that was on the edge of the car park. I sat on a branch and hoped that I wouldn't get noticed. Opening the camera on Squid's phone I watched as the car came round the corner. Through the window of the car I got a picture of one of the men and then, as they pulled out onto the road I got a picture of their number plate.
Slowly I climbed back down the tree and sprinted to Stampy and Squid, remembering what had happened to them.
As I got there I breathed a sigh of relief Squid was sitting up with Stampy and some people from the hospital. As I got there Squid started to stand up with help from Stampy.
"Don't worry I'm fine now." He said to the nurses. I saw them nod and walk back to the hospital.
"Are you ok?" Squid asked running to and wrapping his arms around me.
"Yeah I'm fine, what about you?" I asked.
"I'm good." He replied.
Then Stampy spoke up, "Come on we have to go after those people! They took Flo!" Stampy said in a panicked voice.
"Mate we can't, we don't know where they have gone. We have to call the police and hope they can track her down." Squid said before turning to me, "She had her phone right?"
I nodded and looked at Stampy, he seemed really worried.
"But I did get a picture of one of the men and the cars number plate." I said handing Squid's phone back to him.
"Oh my God! Well done!" He said hugging me again.
Stampy then got on the phone to the police and gave them the number plate.
After about 10 minutes he ended the call and came over to us.
"We have to go to the station to give them the picture and any extra information on it, they are contacting social services for us." He informed.
"Hey mate, I know this is really serious but you seem even more desperate to find her than I thought you would be... why's that?" I heard Squid question Stampy. I watched Stampy state directly in Squid's eyes and say:
"Because I was going to adopt her."

Ortus
A woman wakes up in a forest, naked, alone, and injured. She has nothing but a strange, black dagger and mysterious, floating, blue boxes to aid her. Can she find food and water? Survive the deadly animals? Escape the forest? Learn about the life-altering magic the boxes provide her? She has to use her wits, her knowledge, and maths to do so. But first, baby steps. She doesn't even understand the language, yet. If you see any maths mistakes or strange story decisions, leave a comment and I will either fix it or consider changing it. This is also, essentially, a first draft. That means I will edit older chapters and nothing is final, including numbers. Any major changes are listed in the changelog below each chapter. Since this is a first draft, the start is noticably bad and inconsistent compared to the more recent chapters so you will have to endure that to get to the good stuff. Rewritten version of Ortus (Old Version)

Dungeon of the Dead [hiatus]
The dungeons in this realm usually do not develop truely sentient personalities until much later on in their life. As such they are unable to generate the power the Dungeon God needs to function. Plus when they do develop their personalities, they are usually sociopathic killing machines because...well...their dungeons. Because of this the Dungeon God isn't doing so hot, and in a latch ditch attempt to preserve his Godhood he creates one final dungeon that will have a personality immediately. Unfortunately this particular dungeons seems to be just a little.....incredibly stupid. Due to the dungeon not paying attention during its earliest moments it ends up being a dungeon of the undead. This dungeon is the Dungeons Gods last chance and if it fails he will be stripped of his power by the other deitys and his creations will be exterminated. As the sentient races throughout the land despise undead and seek to destroy them where possible, this could well mean the extinction of the dungeon race...

Redemption
Remnants of ancient history told of a time when great magics were possible, but now most go their entire life without knowledge of its existance. However, things will soon change as the wall holding back the past begins to break and mana again floods the world. But more than just mana was sealed away... ~ Back from a long hiatus, this time with some semblence of a plan and both the time and the desire to write. Writing still needs work to be sure, but I plan to see that chapter number get as high as I can and work out the kinks along the way.

Points of Light - An Oral History of the Collapse
Humanity endures. The phrase is not only an informal slogan of the reformed United Nations, but a rallying cry the world over. Even in the face of extermination, we struggled, we fought, and we endured. But just how close did we actually come? In our darkest hour, how many steps separated our species from oblivion? And are we even safe now? Were the mistakes made by earlier generations really so obvious? Or are they only so blatent when we look back with the advantage of hindsight? If so, what horrors might be staring us in the face even now that no one has the foresight to prevent? Drawn from thousands of interviews, as well as uncorrupted contemporary recordings and source documentation dating back to the early 2000s; Points of Light is a definative look at the last half century of upheaval, prosperity and carnage. It tells the tale of what happened, how it happened, who was responsible and most importantly, what we might be able to do to prevent it from happening again. This is a rewrite of a previously started fiction under a pen-name. Chapters will be updated every two days at 6:00 EST.
