"Huangshang" Gongsun Li bowed to the emperor.

"What truth were you talking about?"

"Huangshang, I know you won't believe me but the truth is, I am not the real Gongsun Li."

Zhu Zhen fisted his hands with all the rage he could muster coupled with the searing pain he felt in his heart for being betrayed by the one he loved the most in the world.

"So what I thought about you is true."

Zhu Zhen didn't believe her a bit, his eyes filled with angry tears of betrayal as laughed out like a crazy heartless man.

"See?" Zhu Zhen swiftly hugged Gongsun Li in relief and again looked at the demi god.

"Okay, Zhen believes you. Now explain."

"My pleasure." Su Jia smiled.

"No!" Zhu Zhen hugged Gongsun Li tighter after hearing their explanation.

"Gongsun Li can not leave. I won't let her leave." he boomed, his body shaking with rage.

Gongsun Li hugged him back to calm him down.

"Li'er, you won't leave, right? I won't allow you to!" Zhu Zhen's eyes flashed with childlike sadness as he held her in his arms.

"She has to if she wants to save her real family from the fire that took their lives."

Su Jia said only to be glared to death by the emperor.

"What about our family, Li'er? You have my child!"

Gongsun Li smiled sadly at him before hinting Su Jian to give them their personal space. Su Jia vanished into thin air leaving them alone.

"I'll leave after I give birth to our child, okay?" Gongsun Li said, her eyes flowing down with tears. "I know you'll take care of our child. You'll be the best father ever, I know." she murmured softly.

"No! I won't take care of him if you leave. I won't be a good father. I am nothing good without you! Don't leave me, Li'er!" Zhu Zhen buried his face in her chest, her clothes getting wet with his tears.

"But I have to save my family. Laoye, you have to let me go!". Gongsu Li wriggled fiercely in his arms to get out in vein. "Never!", Zhu Zhen buried his nose in the crook of her neck easily suppressing her futile attempt with his body, his lips showering kisses on her skin.

"Lao-"

"Please, Li'er, sweetheart, my love. You know I can't live without you! I can't!" his eyes shone with intense passion as his grip turned more tight around her. Gongsun Li couldn't take it anymore, her eyes over flowing with tears as she moved her head to hide it.

"I don't want to leave you", she muttered beneath her breath slowly caressing the scar on his left cheek. "But you know I have to. It is my only chance to save them and give them an opportunity to live."

"No! I don't know, I don't want to know!" he lifted his face to look at her, pulling her lips for a searing kiss.

Gongsun Li returned the kiss with passion, both of them could taste their tears through their kiss. Their heart beating at sync with love they had for each other.

"You won't leave." Zhu Zhen stated after both of them pulled out from kiss.

"Laoye, you have to understand-"

"You want your family to live, right?" he asked, his voice carrying a malicious tone.

"Yes."

"If you leave me, I'll burn down the entire empire. Let's see if you can see thousands sacrifice for your family, my love." his lips tilted upwards to form a cruel smile.

Gongsun Li gasped, "You- you wouldn't! You can't be that heartless!"

Zhu Zhen smiled sadly as he put his forehead over hers,

"Without you, I am every bit of heartless, my heart."

"Su Jia said you can leave only if you can stop the war, right? If it comes to keep you with me, I can keep the war running for thousand years, sweetheart. Only for you." Zhu Zhen whispered to Gongsun Li's ears before taking her lips into a deep kiss again.
