some obscure sad song
would be our theme
and all the teens would cry
when the credits filled the screen
sapphic girls would watch us
when they needed a good sob
and when it was award season
they'd say our film was robbed
because this world wasn't made for us
our joy makes the streets run red
so the writers will write some sad ending
maybe one or both of us dead
and if this is all our story will ever be
i would prefer it remain unseen
